Breakfast buffet was both international and Japanese themed.

Their breakfast buffet has been the high point of my recent stays and is a must.

We all know crap rolls downhill and here it is the General Manager himself who shapes his team into the most friendly and helpful staff ever.

To be honest we were debating on whether to stay in this hotel or in banyan tree because of the sky bar and spa and decided to stay in Okura…well what i can say is it was a great decision…the Okura is just what you expect from a true luxury experience!

Special thanks also to the team who are responsible for the amazing and one of the best, perhaps absolutely the best, breakfasts in 5 star hotels.

But what impressed us most was the breakfast.

Fantastic hotel with exceptionally good breakfast located close to BTS station.

It is also very good that the GM Niek Hammer can often be found in the hotel and also helps the serving staff at breakfast and also has time to talk to the guests.

Also, we pre-paid for breakfast and so glad we did - it was stellar.

The Japanese alternative breakfast provided was refreshing.

Breakfast was also very nice, both for buffet one and Japanese one.

Also a very special mention for the breakfast that is truly amazing.

Friendly staffs and breakfast is awesome.

Great service with professional staffs and delicious restaurant.

The famous Okura French toast was delicious as always.

Beautiful hotel - convenient location, great staff, wonderful breakfast buffet, outdoor seating.

The reception is not right in front of elevator

but still ok as hotel is just next to the station, need to walk stairs back to street level with no lifts or elevator.

Only small hassle was having to switch lifts from ground floor to rooms.

I saw him standby by the elevator all the time, so I didn't have to worry if I needed help and nobody around.

Another important note- this hotel felt incredibly safe with many security guards at the road, at the door/ entrance before the lift and in the hotel lobby all day and all night.

As I exited my room on my last day, one housekeeping staff pushing a cart of linen saw me, proactively pushed the lift

I was loosing the wifi while walking in the hallways and close to the elevator - having to reconnect while I came back to the lobby and room with the hotel login credentials.

The elevator 24th to ground is sometimes long time coming.

The diffusers on the floor next to the lift look ridiculous.

Therefore, the hotel is not crowded and the elevators are fast and prompt.

You have to take some elevators as the hotel starts on the 24th floor of a big building.

On arrival to the hotel, we were taken directly to the 32nd floor, (via a service elevator to avoid potential spread of covid) where our suite was located, to remain until our PCR results arrived.

While the location is good, note that the BTS does not link directly to the hotel - you have to meander your way down a flight of stairs, an escalator, and through an office lobby and two sets of doors just to get to the hotel building, after which you have to take two different sets of lifts to get to your room.

Even the lighting in the elevator and lobby are controlled in a way that the ambiance doesn't change when you step in and out of the elevator.

I actually really like that you have to take an elevator from the ground floor to the lobby, and then another to the guestrooms.

I found the two lift situation and the link to the BTS to be a little annoying and really convoluted.

The only thing that bothers me personally is that it’s mandatory for guests to change elevator twice to get to the room.

This made for an uncomfortable user experience lining up for the elevator and check in area.

This makes it very inconvenient everytime you're rushing out - having to take the lift to the main lobby to switch to the lift that takes you to the ground floor.

but not excellent, buffet food for breakfast and dinner also have a la carte, good location next to river, rooms good size, breakfast good choice,  saw other hotels that are better e.g anartara , near market and is a boat to get sky train, pool smells a bit drainy but that’s the  river , it’s very polluted but that’s not hotels fault , staff helpful

however comparing to others hotel, The variety of breakfast were rich here

We are so impressed with the quality and views of the rooms, the excellent maid service,  breakfast buffet and the helpful and polite staff throughout the hotel.

Breakfast is super good, with a large variety of foods (Thai, Indian, Chinese, Continental) with anything you might desire to start the day.

Food was lovely and breakfasts was delicious with so many options.

Bf buffet at River barge restaurant is quite impressive with a lot of varieties ranging from Asian to American.

Staff are warm and welcoming; the rooms are huge and immaculate - our river view this time was breathtaking; breakfast on the river side feels like a treat each morning; the pool deck is large with plenty of loungers and great drinks service; fitness centre is pretty good and the 24 hour access to gym and sauna was a help with the jet-lag!

wonderful hotel service and the food buffet was all inclusive of different cultures!

The swimming pool, the happy hour, the remarkable breakfast, the delicious evening buffet, the outdoor terrace where we ate in the evening, the concierge service.

Breakfast was very enjoyable lots of choices .

She is very helpful and never miss any details such as breakfast box, morning call or any optional in my room.

Wait till you see the breakfast they serve: Enought for the whole day from European, to Asian etc. .

but service was generally slow at the weekend and the hot drinks I ordered were cold when delivered to my table.

The service at breakfast is extremely slow.

They were completely rude with zero service mind, the waiter at River Barge even gave us a talk-to-my-hand gesture when we tried to ask him to take our order
- the food was served unacceptably slow and cold
- only 2 complimentary drinking water, you will need to pay for it if you order water from the room service
- we did complain about all this upon checking out and they did literally nothing except apologising.

The only thing I have a problem with was slow running water in the shower.

They are really welcoming me and my old parents who are quite slow.

I had dim sum lunch which the food was very slow.

I did the quickest risk assessment I have ever done (time was marching on and we had a tour booked for the following morning, which meant starting the slow process of getting up very early) asked for various items which would normally be found in any hotel’s housekeeping stores including six non slip shower mats, three to cover the floor of the shower, one to come out and one each for the basin and toilet.

I did call order for set of cutlery and bowl.. it’s take a little bit slow

The hotel operates a shuttle boat which is a diesel engine operated with the smell of diesel during the whole trip.

We changed to an higher floor room to avoid the stink.

Coffee shop cakes are way over priced - twice I visited the cakes were stale and I noticed several other guest complaining.

But if you smoke in the wrong place outside, someone will come right away.

However, we would like to suggest improving parking areas, it has unpleasant musty smell.

My only frown came from the smell in the room.

They do have a serious sewer smell throughout the floor we were put on and most lower floors.

Unfortunately a guest on our floor decided it was ok to smoke in their non smoking room with their door open.

We are all staying in amazing suites on different floors, am on the 14th floor,the only negative comment I have is that the river smells soooo bad and when you enter the lobby it’s the first thing you smell.

Most important to us were the sleep quality and non smoking rooms.

I’d like to share the following observations to explain my opinion: Some elements in the room looked a bit dated and used, and some were not very well thought through: I am uploading some photos that show stains and mold in the shower as well as a poorly designed water tap in the bathtub that splashes water against the wall instead of into the tub.

The only set back is the Indian Vegetarian Food, the food taste stale and not freshly cooked and has no taste.

The only drawback was that we could smell smoke in our bedroom.

but was shown another suite at a lower floor but has recently renovated, newer look but could smell paint in the room, never good to sleep with paint smell especially with kids and elderly around.

If the smell, carpet and dripping were under control it would be 5 star from me.

The location is good, the breakfast is ok with good view of the city.

Buffet breakfast is brilliant, everything you could want.

The buffet is an event in itself, so much good food and amazing view.

Me being egatarian also found lots of veg and egg only dishes.

Breakfast was great and lots of choices for Indian vegetarian food.

We enjoy the stay in Baiyoke Sky with comfortable room, very nice breakfast with various choices of cuisin, free shutle service, and the opportunity to see Bangkok from the Revolving View point on the top of the building (84th floor), also.. close to the famous Pratu Nam market.

This hotel can be the best option for having nice stay at bangkok,tallest hotel in Thailand,great breakfast and room services.nostalgic design  room with great view of skyscrapers and city.near to pratunam night market.it is highly recommended

Breakfast options are in-sane and one thing for sure - you can't eat all the available options in one go.

4 nights in Bangkok and staying at Baiyoke sky hotel is a treat,close to the night market at pratinum and other malls , breakfast included in our package and the food was great ,staff are friendly and accomadating , i highly recomend the hotel fro plan trip tp Bangkok,Thailand.

It was a splendid experience throughout my stay in this hotel with great breakfast provided.

The staff were all very helpful, the breakfast had absolutely loads of food.

Buffet breakfast is having so many varieties that you can taste all of them for sure, your tummy will be full much before that.

They have best breakfast options in the hotel with the revolving dining experience

Cons:
All the carpets in rooms and corridors are dusty and dirty 
Stale and pungent air in 4 rooms we took.

The beds were like tables and pillows rock hard trying to sleep on an uncomfortable bed with the smell of rotting carpets was challenging.

Hotel in general looks a little outdated in terms of its interiors such as carpet and furniture.

The hotel corridor stinks badly , the carpets specially.

If a complete overhaul of the aircon duct systems and carpet stripped and relayed doesn't happen soon i won't be surprised if someone does die there.

Passages towards your rokms were dingy with carpets from the 18th century making the smell mouldy and stinky.

Got there with my young daughter and they suggested I go down to the street and walk across the road in my swimsuit to their partner hotel :( where the pool was operational
*Rooms furniture is outdated, carpets are worn out,needs refurbishment.

One small concern was the carpets in the passage areas really need to be shampood as they really stink of dust and dust mites.

How long since the curtains and carpet has been cleaned?

The rooms are quite dated and ours had a strange smell of vomit when we first walked in  the carpets are old (they haven't changed for at least 7 years - I was last here in 2013).

But didn't like the bad smell which comes from the carpets.

But the interior is like 'glamour of the 70s' - in other words outfashioned and outdated and even worn out sometimes (yeah, the carpets already mentioned by many reviewers definitely need replacement).

Carpet smells musty and in dire need of cleaning.

As soon as I stepped out of the elevator on the 43rd floor, the pungent smell of old carpets filled my nose.

Carpets were brown and cannot open windows which meant room felt it hadn't been aired in a long time.

Our room was non smoking and had carpet burns and was definitely rough around the edges.

The rooms are very run down with very stained blotchy carpet, our room stunk of sewerage coming out of the vents and reception had house keep spray some glen 20!

As to the room itself, it was and smelt dirty, stains on carpet and threadbare in places.

You feel like you are waking on super dusty carpet in big room with no sense - there is many empty spaces (they should put a lamp or sth in the corners).

We have to change lifts twice to reach our room.

Since hotel has 84 floors some time elevator takes longer to come.

> Crowds -
Hotel dining/viewing areas are open to public hence the lobby can be very crowded with a mix of public and hotel guests using the same lifts.

Despite the high no of floors Lifts are fast and has a low waiting time.

The hotel is always crowded and you have to wait a lot for elevators.

Staff very rude and arrogant,specifically the staff who work near elevators, not helpful and racist 
Who help only Thais , bad housekeeping, always need to queue for elevators, no special pass for guests to visits roof top .

but its popularity with general public meant frequently having to queue for lifts.

The lifts can take some getting used  to - no direct access to 81st floor (you have to go down to go up again in another lift.

Have to go down on one lift to 18th floor before going back up again to 77 floor for Breakfast and visa versa.

The only negative was that the lifts get quite congested with outside visitors going to the view point.

The most frustrating issue was the lifts.

Lifts can get very busy around sunset with tourists from outside the hotel visiting the viewing platform.

(ii) The lift gets too busy as there are more visitors than the actual Guest staying at the hotel.

Staffs at hotel lobby on 18th floor were all very helpful and guided the guests to avail the correct lifts for going to higher floors, allocated rooms in sky zone or space zone and also for breakfast at 78th floor or 81st floor.

you'll always have to come to 17th floor and then change elevator to go up or down which is very annoying.

But as we exited the elevator onto the level our room was on we were greeted with the a disgusting stale smell, went into our room in the "space zone" and the stench was even more pungent than in the hallway, it was a musky stagnate odour that pretty well stained our nostrils after sleeping in it a whole night.

Only the entry to the hotel i.e from the road to the lift is very uncomfortable for those carrying luggage.

The room is old with foul smell coming out from the CR.

Room had bad and very unpleasant rodent smell and outdated furniture.

The drain cover in the shower comes off by itself and floats around in the shower with you.

Lobby on the 18th floor has a peculiar fish food smell.

it is old and little smell, I saw roach crawling on my bed and bathroom.

They smell terrible and they are filthy. 2.

Once got a whiff of cigarette smoke and liquor from the vent of central ac .. this felt bad

The air-conditioner vents were coated in dust and mould.

but we did not have much choice over the room type and receive smoking room (strong smoking smell).

As soon as you wait for the elevator for the 18 floor (thier lobby) you are welcomed by an awfull smelling fruit DURIAN ( this fruit was banned in other hotels I stayed in Thailand) and when you are in the lobby the smell just gets into your head.

The food is fantastic in all spots and especially the breakfast buffet is the best we ever had.

The food throughout the hotel is great, we had lunch by the pool, room service and the breakfast is truly a feast.

the other things are it has an amazing breakfast buffet and nice swimming pool.

While the menu offered a variety of options, the freshness and overall quality of the ingredients fell short of expectations.

In regards to the food provision, we had excellent breakfast included and we also had a poolside meal and dinner at the longtail bar.

The breakfast provided is great, boasting a wide variety of choices.

The food served at the buffet is of excellent quality.

Bedrooms weren’t cleaned until the end of the afternoon, balcony chairs not cleaned of bird muck, access impossible for our taxi due to a conference with security, weren’t informed we could have a picnic breakfast when we booked an early tour through the hotel, coffee isn’t fresh at breakfast.

I just like everything there, room, garden, breakfast, pool, services. Last november they upgraded us from "normal" room to a "view on the river room."

Breakfast was amazing and lots of variety.

All staff members always had a smile on their face and in particular we would like to thank Khun Sasithorn (Complex RSVN Manager), Chettha (Chief Concierge), Nookie & Mu (GHA at Front Desk) and Mint (Hostess at The Market Breakfast).

Best breakfast ive ever had and really stunning array of food in the evenings, with live music and/or Thai dancing.

Although it is a large hotel it has a friendly holiday vibe (ie not too many businessmen in suits drinking expensive wine) with a great pool area, friendly staff, and an amazing breakfast buffet

Guest room and morning buffet is also great i love bangkok and Anantara makes me for great exprience!

Without a doubt though, we would never ever again personally stay at this or any other Anantara resort, based on our own extremely poor experience.

Hotels of this ranking have no place owning a mattress of such poor quality, I've stayed in more comfortable hostels.

Only downside, poor Traders Vic meal, expensive and poor quality.

but the wifi needs improving and the TV has a poor reception.

We booked a 90 minute couples massage and the quality was really quite poor, and certainly the worst we experienced this trip out of 5 Asian hotels.

The room services are very poor, the cleaning was very bad, as the dirty food plate was not cleaned, and there was no coffee or welcome fruit the next day, because I am a member, and there was no bathrobe, and there was no anti-mosquito medicine for the device, and we were contacted several times in the afternoon, and we were only served at At the end of the night, after several attempts, I was not given an upgrade to my room, and the view was very bad.

There are no smoothies and the juices are poor quality.

I'm so upset by this poor customer service, I chose this hotel because the reviews were so good and now I'm so disappointed.

however I found the lighting to be very poor ( no full lights) and would have expected a slightly larger bathroom with double sink and a separate shower, rather than one over the bath in a hotel if this quality.

There was a rather beautiful heavy downpour of rain outside so we decided to have a pre-dinner cocktail at The Elephant Bar, unfortunately the quality of the drinks here was also very poor and the alcohol watered down so you ended up paying close to £9 for ice water with a hint of flavour.

A restaurant meal at the hotel usually ends up a very expensive exercise for some pretty average food and often very poor service.

The long bar is really really poor and needs a massive upgrade overhaul.

.. English language poor except in club  best described as a holiday venue for Asian tourists .. pool noise substantial .

but with a below average to poor command of English, to the point of being incomprehensible.

The breakfast buffet downstairs had a good selection, and the hotel spa (in the other wing of the hotel) was also very nice.

The Horizons Lounge remained a standout feature, providing a streamlined check-in and checkout process, complimentary breakfast, evening cocktails, and a pleasant start to our days.

The flavours were so tasty and so delicious I loved every dish we got and the service was out of this world.

Noteworthy is their selection of homemade icecream which is a MUST TRY from the breakfast buffet.

But as always the breakfast was the kids most favourite thing.

Excellent restaurants , don’t miss the buffet by the pool, don’t miss either the Thai one with music and dance by a thai group evening time.

We had the Christmas Eve buffet which was excellent and we had a great time.

The breakfast is incredible and the rooms super comfie with great views of the river.

Breakfast buffet selection is pretty good, especially the asian dishes.

The delicious food  and the charming and efficient staff was unbeatable.

The team and food at breakfast were great.

Fabulous stay at this wonderful hotel in Bangkok, such a clean, friendly hotel with wonderful size bedrooms and an amazing pool area , fabulous breakfast also !

We would like to give a shout-out to Yuwanne and her team at the Sakathip Thai Restaurant (Pookie, Oat, Mok, Jom and Big) for a delicious meal.

Lucky enough to have visited twice now in the last year and just can’t fault it, from the super-comfortable beds to the perfect location by the river, from the fabulous staff to the amazing breakfasts.
