Breakfast was exceptional every thing you could want.

Breakfast has lots of variety of food to offer include vegan choices and freshly made noodles.

Breakfast was immense, even the fussiest of eaters would be catered for.

The food was great loads of choice for breakfast and the Thai buffet night was excellent quality and value for money.

We took advantage of room service and the restaurants on site and the food was delicious.

The breakfast buffet was great and had a lot of variety, even for vegetarians.

The breakfast is pretty decent with many dishes from international to local.

There is an on site restaurant where we had breakfast every day and dinner a few times.

Friendly staff, amazing breakfast, beautiful rooms, and of course the highlight is THE POOLS.

Due to this saga, I can only rate them 4 Bubbles on Tripadvisor.

We only had breakfast in the hotel 1 day out of 3 due to the bad experience.

Sadly the second restaurant located higher up on the hill is still closed probably due to limited number of tourists

but when we visited, only the main restaurant was open due to the low occupancy due to covid.

we were sad to be leaving, then 2 days before we were due to fly home my partner tested positive for covid!

Our room wasn’t due to be accessible until 14:00

We later learned that this section was likely an older part of the resort and due to certain environmental conditions it was more susceptible to the issue we had.

Probably due to the lack of entertainment.

Really disappointed told our rep at trailfinders need an easy access hotel due to knee problems she couldn't of sent us to a hotel with less steps and slopes.Also resort very tired pool bar filthy .sun beds stained umbrellas very worn furniture in room tired broken hangers .old bathroom very upset

Don't give the resort 1 star due to your on incompetence because you didn't read.

The massage therapists were very respectful and careful to ask if you have any medical conditions or if you have any spots you want them to avoid due to past injuries or other matters.

Finally our stay ended with our pick up due @ 12pm.

but tv seems to not work that well due to monsoonal rain apparently.

We avoid the main pool due to the number of children there, so spent our time around the much quieter pomelo or coconut pool.

Due to the location of the resort, you are driven in a type of small van (not unlike a large golf buggy) to your accommodation with your luggage.

But we had to get moved due to our room having an adjoining door and the neighbours were noisey!

We hardly got any sleep on the last two nights due to howling and barking so we left exhausted, disappointed the staff didn't seem interested in doing anything about it.

But most of the time once we were finished before the shuttle was due to collect, we would always be charged 200baht even in a tuk tuk.

This was our choice, due to observations we had made, and the fact that our room was not too far a walk from the steps down to the lobby.

Shower door did not fit and flooded bathroom every time it was used

Air conditioning unit leaked ( this was fixed for us

but not fixed, so we did have this issue ongoing, however rain’s such a big part of Thailand as much as Sunshine, so these things happen.

Generally I think the owner needs to fix some things all arround, like a rusty boiler out of a room,  like the tubing arround the rooms, like the swamps that I dont see the point of being there and also to make more room for all the visitors in the pools.

however they were fairly fixed on the price and almost a little embarrassed to offer a discount.

One person complained and they worked to fix it up right away.

We had one small issue with our door, which was fixed straight away.

though they could have) and fixed the dates.

When my WiFi was not connecting, a staff member came to my room to fix it.

When i raised this the lady at the desk said with a smile that they fix the costs for their customers.

We phoned to the front desk and maintenance arrived quickly to fix it - or so we thought!

One of the blinds came down during our stay which we reported to reception who fixed it before we returned to our room a few hours later.

The only recommendation I have for the resort is to fix some of the loose small tiles on the floor of the Mango pool

My sister in law has just been hit in the head by a wooden panel you were meant to have fixed 2 days earlier, and this is the best they can do???

I was covered in soap and shampoo and my boyfriend called them to fix it.

We called the front desk around 8am, and they came to fix it. .

Unfortunately, there was no way to fix this during our stay.

The loose tiles were being fixed during our stay.

The staff were always helping* with them and providing them with bananas and other food.

We can the pool access room this time and it was very convenient with close access to a pool bar and restaurant.

Rooms are huge, the pools are nice, the food is great and inexpensive.

A fantastic place to stay  all the staff are so helpful and friendly  room was outstanding  pools were awesome and the food wow   cleanliness to the max   shuttle bus to the room (and beach ) the resort is a must go back too for me   i have to write 200 characters for my review lol

We ate dinner on several nights in the restaurant and again choice and quality very good.

I took a milk bath to help calm my skin and relax a bit one evening before dinner.

The food was excellent and Mandarava also offers Thai cooking classes with the hotel's chef for those looking to expand their skills.

In the Karon area, there are plenty of restaurants and shops so you can also walk around if the beach is not what you are going after.

That coupled with the amazing location, incredible facilities and the great and affordable food & drinks they had to offer really set the whole tone of the trip.

The rooms, food and facilities were equally amazing.

The noodle soup station was my favourite.

The restaurant, Mango Pool and Spa are very nice.

The cost difference was credited for use in the hotel complex and was used for room service  dinner and drinks etc.

There are a few shops down the road,  7-11, massage, a couple of restaurants and laundry services.

The rooms were 4 star and spotless all the time with daily cleaning.

The kids room provided great entertainment for the children, in addition to the many shallow pools that offers a great place to crawl around in the water.

All rooms are in villa very close to swimming pool.

The resort staff were lovely;  really helpful & very kind -  a delightful surprise when they delivered a pretty bunch of flowers to my room when I was unwell.

While the room is great and comfortable, we struggled a bit with the lighting because it was a bit dim.

The rooms are well-equiped and the housekeepers make sure they stay clean throughout your stay.

We booked a pool room which was so nice to be able to walk in and swim from your bedroom door through the beautiful pool garden to the bar!

The Design of the room was beautiful, and modern.

While the resort is built on a slope, they have tuk-tuks that you can use to get to and from your room to the lobby.

The rooms are beautifully spacious, clean, modern and bright.

We stayed in a tropical room which was roomy and well maintained.

You have everything you need in the room.

Beautiful hotel and the rooms are fabulous.

All staff were friendly, helpful and went out of there way to meet any needs we had.

The staff were so welcoming and loving towards our children.

The whole resort is peaceful, beautifully landscaped with lush greenery everywhere and all the staff are helpful and welcoming.

The staff are the friendliest I have ever experienced, nothing is too much trouble.

Staff are all exceptional and cannot do enough for you.

From the very first person we met at front desk, I believe her name was Lemon, to the very last person we met upon checkout - everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and attentive.

All staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Service is great and the staff very friendly.

One of the standouts for this resort was the staff, every single person we encountered were lovely.

I could not get over how polite and friendly everyone was.

All the staff were so friendly and kind and made a huge effort to make sure that all of our needs were seen to.

I will definitely be back, and am already missing the hospitality of the staff as im typing this review.

Of course, the layout is a bit descending so be prepared to climb the stairs.

It is on the side of a hill so be aware that there are stairs and inclines,

Our driver dropped us and our cases at the bottom of the stairs up to reception.

although you would struggle with the amount of stairs - no lift from what I could see.

The resort has many level and yes there are lots of stairs and steep roadways,

It’s situated on a hill and there’s a lot of stairs to get to the villa,

If you are unable to climb stairs it’s not suitable.

The walking- now if you struggle with stairs or walking is difficult DO NOT STAY HERE.

but the stairs could be an issue for others.

Set slightly on a cliff you will find yourself climbing a few stairs to get to your room,

After making my way around the hills and stairs I was tied, hungry and frustrated!

The resort is on the side of the hill so there are lots of stairs

Come here, you may need to walk a few flights of stairs or they will drive you to your room.

From our room to reception and back was around 320 stairs

Just be aware that you will have to climb a lot of stairs to get around

Plus there are still 20+ stairs everywhere.

For a breakfest ( In front of our room ) we had to climb  120  stairs and then  still climb up the hill.

Besides the first day issues, the resort itself was great, except for one BIG item, the amount of stairs and hills!

All rooms are reached by going up and / or down flights of stairs.

although not during Songkran as taxi fares are almost 3 times the usual price.

The restaurant was pretty pricey, I paid 250BHT for pad thai which was average I would say in comparison to what I have eaten on the market for 60BHT.

So you need to take the shuttle bus and pay 100 bath each time or hire a scooter.

The hotel clearly has ambitions to develop into a higher tier offering and to charge premium rates

The transfer to the airport are expensive.

You are stuck on a very steep hill and they charge you money to take you down.

They charge you just to take you from the resort to the main road because it is too steep to walk.

the only problem I can mention was the time of shuttle buses time, the last one was 11 pm so in case you want to stay at bars or beach clubs you have to take taxi which does not have a fixed price.

This was our cheapest stay on our trip and still better in many ways than the most expensive one which cost 5 times more per night!

Once you’re up there you have to pay the shuttle per person per each way up and down.

You have to pay for it which is expensive.

Dinner: After a long day of travelling on our first night, we opted to have dinner in the hotel which was pricey compared to other restaurants on the island.

Taxis charge a premium for ‘going up the mountain’ and it will cost about 500 baht each way to chaweng beach.

The only real disappointment about breakfast was that cappuccinos were only available at extra cost.

Ko samui too expensive and i don’t want back.

but on the return journey we got our own taxi which was half the price.

However, we do not recommend to eat in their restaurant as: very long service despite multiple staff, quality of food medium, expensive prices compared to other restaurants or hotels.

but can be a bit expensive for lunch/dinner between 300-400 tbht a dish.

Nevertheless, the infinite swimming pool with a great view and reasonab price for room are reasons to stay here.

Staff are so kind and the room was amazing with the grateful view.

The infinity pool is gorgeous and the room was beautiful.

but don’t worry about that, the staff take you up to your room from reception and if you have a scooter you’ll be fine travelling to and from the hotel.

From the second we arrived staff were attentive, informative and so helpful.

Reception staff were also extremely helpful and so kind.

All the staff were lovely and I highly enjoyed the food.

So a big shout out to Tan and Ko Ko and everyone was else whose name I forgot to note down.

Everything was very efficient and well managed.

The Suite was spacious and comfy, the swimmingpool with the view was splendid and the personel is welcoming and helpfull.

Also, I want to give special thanks to the staff of Mantra for always giving their 100 % at helping us, giving us advice and just trying to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

Friendly and helpful staff, great facilities, amazing views, excellent restaurant and pool - pretty much everything we could have asked for.

but we can without a doubt say that the service at the Mantra has been the best - everyone (front desk, restaurant team, cleaning team, mgt, etc) went above and beyond to make our stay really memorable.

Even when there was confusion with my boarding my flight they rapidly responded to my messages.

The staff is the most professional that I have seen.

I had a room upgrade because they did not want me to climb the stairs every time i go back to my room.

A member of the hotel team then came to the reception area and took us to our room in a golf cart and carried our cases up the three flights of stairs.

Twos suggestions:
More lighting around some of the external wooden stairs would go a long way to reducing the risk of people tripping, injuring themselves and possibly making claims against the hotel.

It is build on the side of a very steep mountain and as a result there are stairs going everywhere, and when I say stairs I meant lots.

However, if you have issues with stairs it's not an option unless you choose the lower level rooms which don't have the same stunning views as the higher located ones.

The room itself is situated up several steep flights of stairs which was just awful to climb with a baby in scorching heat, really terrible to see there is no lift in sight.

Our room atop flights of stairs not suitable for elderlies.

Only downside was the very steep hill to get to the restaurant, swimming pool and some rooms (I suggest they build some stairs hugging the driveway from reception up to the top near the pool).

Problem is you have no corresponding stairs for people to walk.

however very dangerous with not many railings and lighting on the stairs to get down to the restaurant and the swimming pool.

Our room was reached by climbing 55 stairs.

You have to take stairs for going 3 floors up which is tiring sometime.

Not the place for elderly or people who have problems walking as there are steep paths and stairs everywhere.

there are allot of stairs if you have problem with that make sure you notify the room staff in advance.

This resort seemed to have a lot of younger couples staying here with the hills and the stairs not being a problem,

I would also look to improve the lighting on the stairs leading down to the restaurant toilet facilities - quite dark and therefore potentially dangerous.

However, you have to go up a set of steep stairs to get to this deck area.

Dont recommend this resort for old people its in the hill and there is lots of stairs.

We were given a room where employees walk in and out near so the stairs were constantly banging.

Amazing location in the mountains with a pleasant view of the island and sea.

One of the absolutely bedt views of the island.

The front manager, Mod, displayed the best customer service we experienced on our trip to Thailand; she was so friendly, accommodating and always went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay possible! Every aspect of our stay here by far exceeded expectations - the spacious and gorgeous ocean suite with an absolutely stunning view of the ocean, the wonderful hotel amenities, incredible fresh breakfast daily (the wonderful Anselm had breakfast running like a well oiled machine!)

Probably the better part of the island in our view.

Breakfast was a delight with choices of eggs, great coffee and a view worth getting up for.

Apart from the service - the place is very comfortable with +60m sea views apartment (perfect if you have a little one that likes to explore), amazing food, fully equipped gym and great infinity pool.

I highly recommend staying here if you want to be on the hillside with a fantastic view.

however the rooms have Razer thin walls and you can hear everything!

Broken bath panels, marked walls, chipped corners, cold shower etc.

The walls were filthy and the paint was scraped from suitcases and the unknown, particularly near the floor.

The place needed a good paint all over, years of luggage left the walls scuffed, lampshade dirty and bent, flaking paint on balcony meant you couldn't lean against barrier, water marks all over bathroom (especially shower floor), mini bar surrounding chipped, couch could have walked out on its own it was so dirty, the curtain around jacuzzi was disgusting with mould, the door surrounding was cracked and didn't seal properly meaning mosqitos could get in and the floor was badly scuffed.

If you are travelling with a family and request the family rooms, unfortunately these have little or no views, or views of a squash court building wall, this was the only flaw which stiood out for us.

The bathroom was dark, the furniture was dated and the walls in need of a paint job.

All in all, it's NOT just another brick in the wall, I assure you.

many signs of overuse like scraped floors, marked walls ect.

There's no need for a pc/tv that faces a wall, or a day bed that's 5 feet from a sofa and another 5 feet from another bed.

We stayed in a top floor 'wow' suite overlooking the pool, on our first night we encountered a vast of array of facilities lacking, limited space to hang clothes or put them away, no dressing table, paint peeling off walls, scratch marks, plastic silver dog bowls in walls with surrounding paint peeling, jacuzzi curtain hanging off and dirty, jacuzzi cladding broken, sun loungers worn out from oversized guests, yellow (where should white) bed linen, frayed towels, we planned to be there a week, we checked out following day and received a full refund from well mannered management.
