We also booked on with the on site restaurant (which is included in the all inclusive) and I would rate it an 8/10.

For those on all inclusive or those who wishto pay, there is an evening dining experience at Zorbas which is well worth booking,

Take plenty of mosquito spray as from personal experience they treated us like an all inclusive buffet!

We were all inclusive and there was a huge selection in food, the main buffet area included: traditional Greek foods, pasta and pizza, chips, fish, meats, soups & salads with also a wide variety for breakfast and lunch.

Food choice was very good, as with most all-inclusive hotels, there was a pizza/ pasta section, salad bar, vegetarian options, and even a section specific to more local quisine.

Food was great with BBQ nights and a la carte thrown in all in the all inclusive.

If you want gourmet a la carte don’t stay AI.

The animation team worked tirelessly as they do in any all inclusive hotel I have experienced.

Bars:
Each pool has its own bar, all staff lovely and polite, you can get a cocktail of the day on all inclusive which changes each day, beer on tap, wine and usual spirits.

Because of its remote location there is nowhere that is walkable distance which is fine if you are all inclusive.

It’s definitely one of the better AI hotels we’ve been to

very good and varied meals and a very rich all inclusive option.

Overall we had a really enjoyable all inclusive holiday and would recommend, the rooms were clean and spacious, the complex was large, the pools and coves were lovely, the staff were great, the buffet food was enjoyable and varied from day to day, there were things for everyone to do without leaving the hotel

We are a family of four with two teenage girls and went for 14 nights all inclusive in a sea facing family bungalow - Room 2211.

The hotel was spotless and all staff very good,the staff in zorbas during the day never stopped and enjoyed having a laugh with you.plenty of food choice,s at meal times.my only gripe was we arrived to late for food or drink and as we were all inclusive hoped for a cold drink in fridge in the room

Food is amazing for all inclusive, and the drinks are also good.

Whilst other reviews have said they are dated, the only thing I'd want to improve would be the shower curtains and the shower head in the bathroom.

but did not leave for the airport until evening and although there are facilities provided for showering and changing in this case, they really need an upgrade.

At first our rooms seemed a bit worn and the bathroom a bit shabby,

One area that needs attention is the locks on the toilets.

The rooms are very  dated (bathroom especially), we were unlucky and had a room very close to a walkway which could be noisy at night with a very small patio

but we have discovered that her skin is sensitive so we made sure she showered after her time in the pool.

The only down side is the shower rooms, there was no availability for us to pay to keep our room and the shower room is not very appealing.

We can hear the people above us walking around, going to the loo etc.

although you could hear people late at night/ early in the morning from reception the room itself was very spacious, lovely balcony, furniture to unpack your belongings in and a very lovely bathroom (which included shower products and a hairdryer).

but extended throughout the bathroom and room furniture where fittings were damaged and in poor condition.

It’s worse than a shower block at the worlds poorest campsite.

If they had said no when first requested I would have gone elsewhere to watch instead of them just saying no about 10 minutes before the game was due to start and the other things that I feel lets the hotel down are the very small bath towels, such a nice hotel could at least offer less skimpy towels

however none of the locks in the ladies toilets worked.

Main restaurant womens toilet locks don't work despite being the only renovated part of the hotel resort.

- The rooms are low quality and the bathrooms are worse.

There are soap, shampoo and conditioner refill bottles for the guests and tea and coffee in the room.

The showers are very small so the curtain just sticks to you the entire time which is a bit annoying!

The shower curtains in the bath stick to you when you shower no matter how much you try to prevent it, it's horrible!

The food buffets were decent, especially compared to some all inclusive hotels, and always left you satisfied and full.

Food is plentiful and available from the moment you wake up until time for bed.

They accommodated our vegetarian requests and the food was delicious over a 5 course menu!

The buffet breakfasts and dinners we had as half board guests had plentiful choice and the food was good quality.

Breakfasts are as substantial as you wish, lunch tends to be lighter and more limited and dinner has a much widef range of well prepared delights.

Food was okay, we tried both restaurants including the buffet one.

However the food was still nice and edible, and this is just a minor nit pick if anything.

The food was faultless, always delicious and plenty of choice for everyone at the several places to eat!

At breakfast there are about 5/6 different milks (full, low fat, oat milk, soya etc) for cereals.

The food is incredibly delicious and me being a very fussy eater always finds something lovely to eat and enjoy.

Everything is beautifully presented, & being replenished constantly in buffet style so you can go up as many times as you want!!

but we managed fine with the main buffet restaurant.

The buffet restaurant always had plenty to choose from.

The gluten free area at breakfast was great for me  as I cannot eat gluten.

The evening entertainment is absolutely brilliant as is the food in the restaurant for all breakfast, lunch and main evening meal.

The food at the restaurant was delicious, and i love how each night was a different theme, and that there was something new each night, and something for everyone at the same time.

Otherwise you can take a bus to Rethymano or there are plenty of excursions available. The food in the main restaurant was very good, there was a lot of choice for breakfast and dinner (we were half board.)

We went for october half term just for 5 days and had a wonderful holiday - the family bungalows are superb.

We had a lovely holiday and are sad to be going home.

All the staff worked with enthusiasm and with a genuine care even after a very long season to care for us to have the best holiday.

After speaking to one staff member [Matea] on day one for a brief 5 minutes, she has spoken to me ever since, remembering my name, and generally being interested on how my holiday is going.

Everything else was perfect and we would rate the holiday 10/10 and we are planning on coming back for another holiday in the near future

Having only been back 2 days we feel like we've made life-long friends as well as having had our dream holiday!!

We are just about to leave the hotel and we just want to say we’ve had a very enjoyable holiday.

Overall a great holiday and as the header suggests. .

though the holiday and the hotel were fantastic and the people very friendly everywhere in the hotel which made it all very relaxing.

I highly recommend this hotel, we had a perrrfect vacation here!

The only thing that knocked it down for me was the safe was €3 a night and this was not stated when we booked- especially when we got an unexpected tourist tax on arrival too.

There are 2 trips and each cost 20 E each.

Being half board, trying to pay for a drink at the bar was problematic as we either weren’t allowed to pay by card or give our room number.

Woman took a card payment for the tourist tax, and cash for the safety deposit box.

Was told by reception you can pay on bus, wasn’t the case!

but for some reason choose to make them at a premium.

but most of the loungers are cheap looking and not very comfortable.

25 euros each way in a taxi or you can take the bus which is much cheaper.

Our hotel return coach pick up was at 19.30 so we elected to request a late checkout at a cost of €10 per hour

Make sure to book the Lavris grill, providing you're on All Inclusive you will only have to pay for bottles of wine etc.

€400 euro paid and I carried on with my holiday.

We paid the Tourist Tax which was €3 per room per day.

but 90 Euros there and all the shops make a big deal of reminding you its silver and go through the whole palaver of weighing it yadeyah (like they don't know what they cost already) in short I would suggest 'fixed pricing' and a bit of a rip off so didn't buy anything in the end and very unlike me.

For the amount we paid in uk school holidays it definitely was not worth it.

There are a couple of small shops in the complex for little souvenirs and essentials and compared to other similar on-site stores at other hotels, I didn’t find them outrageously expensive.

however be aware that the price does not include entry to places such as the mine .

The animation team were brilliant and did such a great job at getting people involved with sports and games.

Although we never went to any shows, the animation team that stayed round the pool were hilarious and always made the time to talk to you and wish you a good morning.

but the staff really made it a great experience - from the restaurant staff to housekeeping and the animation team - all superb.

Entertainment - varied to suit all.

They did have a variation of dancing acts, fire shows and live bands so it depends on yours tastes and when you go.

Day one Saturday we we’re feeling our feet and this day was a day off for the entertainment.

Evening entertainment is on point for all ages, and the food is = WOW!

Entertainment and animation team are brilliant!

But that wasn’t all bad … the animation team was absolutely great what lovely and talented people love it all .

Alternative entertainment and activities are provided by a dynamic and talented animation team.

The fire show was sensational and the talent show was hilarious.

The main pool has activities such as aqua aerobics, zumba etc throughout the day with the animation team making it fun and interactive.

Nadia and jessica at the bars for always making us great mojitos and tony and Vika from animation team.

The staff, from front of house,  hygiene,  restaurant , bar and animation team are an absolute credit to the place.

There are several pools, as we wanted to relax more we chose the quieter pools which had comfier sun beds and no entertainment which we prefer.

The reception staff are sooo friendly l, the entertainment team are the best I’ve seen day and night.

The main let down for me with the hotel was the food, We managed to eat every morning and almost every evening, we found after a good breakfast we didn’t require lunch and grabbed fruit from the pool bar.

The freshly cooked omelette in the morning was our favourite & those cakes !!

The resturant staff are so friendly always welcoming you with a smile and the food was always plentiful.

We preferred breakfast the most, where on top of usual buffet food you can ask for a fresh omelette or pancake  to be cooked, fresh orange juice from hand picked oranges, filter or Turkish coffee etc.

The food was good and plentiful with a good choice.

I was awed by the sheer beauty of the place, the scenic views of the mountains, the fruits that grew so readily all around the grounds, from oranges, pomegranates, apples etc.

The buffet was a highlight, offering a wide variety of delicious, well-prepared dishes.

The food was buffet style with plenty of choice at each meal time, we had no problem finding food for all our various tastes, snacks are served in the pool side bar which includes greek salad, sandwiches, fresh fruit, ice cream,  pizza, waffles meat filled flat bread.

Great buffet, hotel is 2km from the sea, located at a beautiful spot with a lovely mountain view!

but we did not need to worry as the staff were great making sure we were collected in the bus for breakfast and dinner upon request.

The food was good if you was the first one to arrive, being a buffet there's not much more you can expect as it gets messy and dry very quickly.

The hotels buffet had a lot of variation, so there is always something new on the menu.

The food there is so delicious, offering a wide variety of mouthwatering dishes that will satisfy any craving.

Breakfast was best meal of day as fresh omelette and pancakes available

Wonderful staff, wonderful service and delicious food to suit every bodies tastes.

I have no idea who is writing these good reviews as they clearly are not staying at this hotel.

This is advertised as 5* - I have no idea when this hotel was graded or where other reviewers usually holiday

Having visited Crete many times over the years, we had a good idea of the location of the hotel, which, due to the shuttle bus service, provides easy access to travel east or west, without the need for a car.

Liked the idea of a relaxing break and this hotel seemed to fit the bill.

The fridges and kettles in the room are a great idea - our rooms over looked the pool and mountains.

We loved the idea of a dress code for dinner

Entertainment only in the evening and was very poor.

Evening entertainment is poor and if you are going for 2 weeks you may want to hire a car to escape as it will drive you nuts!

The food doesn't rotate and you get to enjoy the same poor quality food for lunch and dinner every night.

We had molds and poor air circulation in our bathroom. The previous room we also stayed in had a really bad sewage smell (probably because it was located at the end of the resort so close to a sewer system?!?)

We studied the reviews and noted that the majority were excellent, putting the poor reviews down to the usual ‘complaining for complaining’s sake’ cohort. The semi secluded (therefore,  romantic?)

Rooms are more like a 2 stars hotel and definitely not a 5stars hotel, and the hygiene is poor.

This hotel is generally not very good at all, some members of the staffing team do make it hard to write a poor review as they are exceptional.

but I don't think management are reading the reviews that mention poor food and drinks which is a shame.

but ask for filter coffee as the machine drinks are poor.

The hotel rooms are pretty tired and lacks a guest focus ( fax printed signs)
The bar is open until 11.30 and then closes with all inclusive drinks only being local beer and own label spirits
Breakfast is poor with no fresh justice that you would expect.

Spit fired lamb was as tough as old boots and beleaguered by a poor cat that looked like it had AIDS.

The food was very poor and did not vary during the week.

Food was mostly unedible and the choice was very poor.

A poor start, as allocated room was unaccepable.

however the drinks service if you sat indoors in the restaurant was poor as all waiting staff seemed to concentrate on the outside terrace dining area an ignore the indoor diners.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay, it was just such a shame the resaurant was so poor.

What is poor is that there is no free bottles water at either breakfast or dinner ( sparkling water at dinner is an expensive 5€).

but met a Welsh Couple Sue and Phil (fantastic couple) who had a superior suite and it was by far nothing like our room so we guessed it don't matter what you paid for as it looks to be a first come first served kind of room allocation, our room was basic, double bed, TV bathroom with bath and very poor overhead shower.

We used Bali Travel for a trip to Elifonisi Beach and Chania Town, would recommend them again.

The view form the rooms is amazing and only a 10 minute trip int town from the bus which is directly outside the hotel.

Transport between excursions and Bali town were seamless.

The views of the mountains are beautiful, the public transport is great to get to Rethymno and staff are always around in the mini bus to help take to Bali town, shout out to stellios as well! !

The guys who gave us a lift into town were also great .

Would recommend the evening trip to Rethmyno with Bali travel it was a lovely town with lots of little cobbled streets and shops and tavernas - great holiday 😀

The evening entertainment for a 5* hotel was pretty shocking and basic, we found more fun going down into Bali town

but even then its a 10 min drive into town, and 45-60 minute walk.

It's a 45 min walk into town and all uphill on a road on the way back up.

Walking into the town of Bali is easily done

The hotel is just up in the hills from Bali main town and the hotel provides a shuttle bus service to the town and beach, so really easy to go from the hotel.

The hotel shuttle to the town is reliable.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location, the hotel is situated in the mountains, a short distance from the town of Bali, which for us was an incentive to spend our holiday in a quiet place.

You do get free transfer to the closest town which is sweet

The hotel is also a LONG way from the nearest town - it is not walking distance (I’m a runner and wouldn’t fancy climbing up that hill) and the taxi for an evening out was €20 (reduced to €10 when we queried it!).

Hotel located in beautiful area near to Bali Town.

But if you want picking up from Bali town back to the hotel it’s 10 euros!

There were plenty of varied trips to choose to suit most tastes.

Easy to book onto excursions to other places too and the trips are good value and worthwhile

Trip Advisor need to investigate this so reviews stay genuine.

Therapists were more concerned about a trip advisor review and making us do it during the massage then actually giving the massage!

I have to start by saying that this is not a 5star hotel however the location and staff made it a very memorable experience,we were there for 2weeks on an all inclusive trip,we had a lovely big room in a nice quiet part of the hotel,the food was ok

However this is nowhere near a 5* hotel, 3* max

Pros:
- The reception staff (especially the saint of a woman in charge)
- that same woman kindly let us move rooms to a marginally better one
- the lovely waiter costas
-the food was ok most nights, just not 5* worthy…

Cons:
- The AWFUL hotel manager, when we complained there was no water for two evenings (therefore no showers or teeth brushing after travelling and being in 30+ degrees heat) we were told by him “there are real problems in the world like Paris riots”.

The ‘suite’ had filthy sofas, a leak under the sink where the bin had been placed and was full of water.

Bali beaches are beautiful and the water was so clear that you didn't want to get out of the sea.

Mythos beach is crammed with sunbeds on a very narrow strip of sand with green/murky water.

Milky water with a thick green scum like ring round the edge.

Food was waiting for us, bottled water and wine.

but your risking your live as on a main road with no foot path and has very steep hills, the pool was unclean for most of our time there, hotel rooms around the hotel involve lots of steep steps and hills I’m fairly fit but even I struggled, the drinks yes they do cocktails but these are made with deluted juice not fresh fruit juices these cocktails come at a cost and most of the cocktails contain raki and ouzo, we witnessed the bar staff adding tap water to the drinks also to water them down!

Horrendously rude manager, no running water in the room for multiple days, filthy rooms, average food, terrible spa treatments, 20 mins to get a drink at the bar , 3* at best .

As for the spa….the indoor pool is cold, the jacuzzi had no water and is a hot tub basically, you have to pay extra for the sauna (which wasn’t working during our stay), so another let down!

Unavailable on a couple of days due to no water supply, and the local alcohol very watered down.

Left without water for days at a time, apparently this is a common problem here.

We have also went a full day without any running water in the hotel whatsoever, meaning no toilet, taps, showers or drinks.

From the slim pickings of disgusting food, to not having water in our room for first 3 days and did not even give us an option to move room.

For starters we arrived to find no running water in our room (toilet, shower or sinks) this went on for three days and all the reception kept saying it would be back on in half an hour and never once offered us a room change.

During one breakfast & lunchtime there were no drinks available because the water supply to the hotel had been affected.

Rooms are not fully stocked as you get a kettle and bottled water
