Whilst other reviews have said they are dated, the only thing I'd want to improve would be the shower curtains and the shower head in the bathroom.

but did not leave for the airport until evening and although there are facilities provided for showering and changing in this case, they really need an upgrade.

At first our rooms seemed a bit worn and the bathroom a bit shabby,

One area that needs attention is the locks on the toilets.

The rooms are very  dated (bathroom especially), we were unlucky and had a room very close to a walkway which could be noisy at night with a very small patio

but we have discovered that her skin is sensitive so we made sure she showered after her time in the pool.

The only down side is the shower rooms, there was no availability for us to pay to keep our room and the shower room is not very appealing.

We can hear the people above us walking around, going to the loo etc.

although you could hear people late at night/ early in the morning from reception the room itself was very spacious, lovely balcony, furniture to unpack your belongings in and a very lovely bathroom (which included shower products and a hairdryer).

but extended throughout the bathroom and room furniture where fittings were damaged and in poor condition.

It’s worse than a shower block at the worlds poorest campsite.

If they had said no when first requested I would have gone elsewhere to watch instead of them just saying no about 10 minutes before the game was due to start and the other things that I feel lets the hotel down are the very small bath towels, such a nice hotel could at least offer less skimpy towels

however none of the locks in the ladies toilets worked.

Main restaurant womens toilet locks don't work despite being the only renovated part of the hotel resort.

- The rooms are low quality and the bathrooms are worse.

There are soap, shampoo and conditioner refill bottles for the guests and tea and coffee in the room.

The showers are very small so the curtain just sticks to you the entire time which is a bit annoying!

The shower curtains in the bath stick to you when you shower no matter how much you try to prevent it, it's horrible!

The food buffets were decent, especially compared to some all inclusive hotels, and always left you satisfied and full.

Food is plentiful and available from the moment you wake up until time for bed.

They accommodated our vegetarian requests and the food was delicious over a 5 course menu!

The buffet breakfasts and dinners we had as half board guests had plentiful choice and the food was good quality.

Breakfasts are as substantial as you wish, lunch tends to be lighter and more limited and dinner has a much widef range of well prepared delights.

Food was okay, we tried both restaurants including the buffet one.

However the food was still nice and edible, and this is just a minor nit pick if anything.

The food was faultless, always delicious and plenty of choice for everyone at the several places to eat!

At breakfast there are about 5/6 different milks (full, low fat, oat milk, soya etc) for cereals.

We were all inclusive and there was a huge selection in food, the main buffet area included: traditional Greek foods, pasta and pizza, chips, fish, meats, soups & salads with also a wide variety for breakfast and lunch.

The food is incredibly delicious and me being a very fussy eater always finds something lovely to eat and enjoy.

Everything is beautifully presented, & being replenished constantly in buffet style so you can go up as many times as you want!!

but we managed fine with the main buffet restaurant.

The buffet restaurant always had plenty to choose from.

The gluten free area at breakfast was great for me  as I cannot eat gluten.

The evening entertainment is absolutely brilliant as is the food in the restaurant for all breakfast, lunch and main evening meal.

The food at the restaurant was delicious, and i love how each night was a different theme, and that there was something new each night, and something for everyone at the same time.

Otherwise you can take a bus to Rethymano or there are plenty of excursions available. The food in the main restaurant was very good, there was a lot of choice for breakfast and dinner (we were half board.)

The only thing that knocked it down for me was the safe was €3 a night and this was not stated when we booked- especially when we got an unexpected tourist tax on arrival too.

There are 2 trips and each cost 20 E each.

Being half board, trying to pay for a drink at the bar was problematic as we either weren’t allowed to pay by card or give our room number.

Woman took a card payment for the tourist tax, and cash for the safety deposit box.

Was told by reception you can pay on bus, wasn’t the case!

but for some reason choose to make them at a premium.

but most of the loungers are cheap looking and not very comfortable.

25 euros each way in a taxi or you can take the bus which is much cheaper.

Our hotel return coach pick up was at 19.30 so we elected to request a late checkout at a cost of €10 per hour

Make sure to book the Lavris grill, providing you're on All Inclusive you will only have to pay for bottles of wine etc.

€400 euro paid and I carried on with my holiday.

We paid the Tourist Tax which was €3 per room per day.

but 90 Euros there and all the shops make a big deal of reminding you its silver and go through the whole palaver of weighing it yadeyah (like they don't know what they cost already) in short I would suggest 'fixed pricing' and a bit of a rip off so didn't buy anything in the end and very unlike me.

For the amount we paid in uk school holidays it definitely was not worth it.

There are a couple of small shops in the complex for little souvenirs and essentials and compared to other similar on-site stores at other hotels, I didn’t find them outrageously expensive.

however be aware that the price does not include entry to places such as the mine .

The main let down for me with the hotel was the food, We managed to eat every morning and almost every evening, we found after a good breakfast we didn’t require lunch and grabbed fruit from the pool bar.

The freshly cooked omelette in the morning was our favourite & those cakes !!

The resturant staff are so friendly always welcoming you with a smile and the food was always plentiful.

We preferred breakfast the most, where on top of usual buffet food you can ask for a fresh omelette or pancake  to be cooked, fresh orange juice from hand picked oranges, filter or Turkish coffee etc.

The food was good and plentiful with a good choice.

I was awed by the sheer beauty of the place, the scenic views of the mountains, the fruits that grew so readily all around the grounds, from oranges, pomegranates, apples etc.

The buffet was a highlight, offering a wide variety of delicious, well-prepared dishes.

The food was buffet style with plenty of choice at each meal time, we had no problem finding food for all our various tastes, snacks are served in the pool side bar which includes greek salad, sandwiches, fresh fruit, ice cream,  pizza, waffles meat filled flat bread.

Great buffet, hotel is 2km from the sea, located at a beautiful spot with a lovely mountain view!

but we did not need to worry as the staff were great making sure we were collected in the bus for breakfast and dinner upon request.

The food was good if you was the first one to arrive, being a buffet there's not much more you can expect as it gets messy and dry very quickly.

The hotels buffet had a lot of variation, so there is always something new on the menu.

The food there is so delicious, offering a wide variety of mouthwatering dishes that will satisfy any craving.

Wonderful staff, wonderful service and delicious food to suit every bodies tastes.

Entertainment only in the evening and was very poor.

Evening entertainment is poor and if you are going for 2 weeks you may want to hire a car to escape as it will drive you nuts!

The food doesn't rotate and you get to enjoy the same poor quality food for lunch and dinner every night.

We had molds and poor air circulation in our bathroom. The previous room we also stayed in had a really bad sewage smell (probably because it was located at the end of the resort so close to a sewer system?!?)

We studied the reviews and noted that the majority were excellent, putting the poor reviews down to the usual ‘complaining for complaining’s sake’ cohort. The semi secluded (therefore,  romantic?)

Rooms are more like a 2 stars hotel and definitely not a 5stars hotel, and the hygiene is poor.

This hotel is generally not very good at all, some members of the staffing team do make it hard to write a poor review as they are exceptional.

but I don't think management are reading the reviews that mention poor food and drinks which is a shame.

but ask for filter coffee as the machine drinks are poor.

The hotel rooms are pretty tired and lacks a guest focus ( fax printed signs)
The bar is open until 11.30 and then closes with all inclusive drinks only being local beer and own label spirits
Breakfast is poor with no fresh justice that you would expect.

Spit fired lamb was as tough as old boots and beleaguered by a poor cat that looked like it had AIDS.

The food was very poor and did not vary during the week.

Food was mostly unedible and the choice was very poor.

A poor start, as allocated room was unaccepable.

however the drinks service if you sat indoors in the restaurant was poor as all waiting staff seemed to concentrate on the outside terrace dining area an ignore the indoor diners.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay, it was just such a shame the resaurant was so poor.

What is poor is that there is no free bottles water at either breakfast or dinner ( sparkling water at dinner is an expensive 5€).

but met a Welsh Couple Sue and Phil (fantastic couple) who had a superior suite and it was by far nothing like our room so we guessed it don't matter what you paid for as it looks to be a first come first served kind of room allocation, our room was basic, double bed, TV bathroom with bath and very poor overhead shower.

However this is nowhere near a 5* hotel, 3* max

Pros:
- The reception staff (especially the saint of a woman in charge)
- that same woman kindly let us move rooms to a marginally better one
- the lovely waiter costas
-the food was ok most nights, just not 5* worthy…

Cons:
- The AWFUL hotel manager, when we complained there was no water for two evenings (therefore no showers or teeth brushing after travelling and being in 30+ degrees heat) we were told by him “there are real problems in the world like Paris riots”.

The ‘suite’ had filthy sofas, a leak under the sink where the bin had been placed and was full of water.

Bali beaches are beautiful and the water was so clear that you didn't want to get out of the sea.

Mythos beach is crammed with sunbeds on a very narrow strip of sand with green/murky water.

Milky water with a thick green scum like ring round the edge.

Food was waiting for us, bottled water and wine.

but your risking your live as on a main road with no foot path and has very steep hills, the pool was unclean for most of our time there, hotel rooms around the hotel involve lots of steep steps and hills I’m fairly fit but even I struggled, the drinks yes they do cocktails but these are made with deluted juice not fresh fruit juices these cocktails come at a cost and most of the cocktails contain raki and ouzo, we witnessed the bar staff adding tap water to the drinks also to water them down!

Horrendously rude manager, no running water in the room for multiple days, filthy rooms, average food, terrible spa treatments, 20 mins to get a drink at the bar , 3* at best .

As for the spa….the indoor pool is cold, the jacuzzi had no water and is a hot tub basically, you have to pay extra for the sauna (which wasn’t working during our stay), so another let down!

Unavailable on a couple of days due to no water supply, and the local alcohol very watered down.

Left without water for days at a time, apparently this is a common problem here.

We have also went a full day without any running water in the hotel whatsoever, meaning no toilet, taps, showers or drinks.

From the slim pickings of disgusting food, to not having water in our room for first 3 days and did not even give us an option to move room.

For starters we arrived to find no running water in our room (toilet, shower or sinks) this went on for three days and all the reception kept saying it would be back on in half an hour and never once offered us a room change.

During one breakfast & lunchtime there were no drinks available because the water supply to the hotel had been affected.

The food in our hotel was so delicious that we never felt the necessity to do this,

The restaurants were very nice with more than plenty of food to choose from everyday at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

A fabulous touch having the cellist play durning breakfast two mornings.

The food was delicious, many local options available and a lot of vegetarian choices.

Also on some days a cello is played while you enjoy your delicious breakfast.

Half board for breakfast and dinner is well worth the cost for the duration of your time at the Royal Blue Resort.

Thee rooms are very nice and comfortable,
the food is very good, delicious and the staff very nice and accomodating.

Otherwise we enjoyed all the amenities we've come to love, such as the varied buffet breakfasts and dinners; an Adults Only pool, where I even joined the Aquaerobics classes again - great fun, and a good workout; a light lunch at the Alati restaurant beside the main pool; etc etc .

The only critique is the quality of the dinner buffet at £50 per head for what it is, is way overpriced.

Are flight wasn't till 10 pm and I went to reception to ask if it would be possible to pay for the room for the day I was told I didnt need to pay and this was a gift to us from them.

The next morning at breakfast before I had even sat down with my family a waitress came straight over to our table and announced ‘You didn’t pay for your water last night and you said you would pay by visa and I have had to pay out of my own money for your water’ - I mean it was mortifying …… in front of my family and other guests…… did she think I was going to run away from my £7000+ holiday so I didn’t have to pay 8€ for 2 bottles of water.

If you want to travel out and about it would probably be cheaper to rent a car than travel by taxi.

but very expensive, highlighted by the much lower prices in the villages and towns.

they even wanted to take 100 euros per day as cover reservation if you wanted to pay anything assigning to the room instead of paying it on the spot.

A taxi to panormos cost €8 each way were you’ll find a handful of shops bars and restaurants.

- Drinks in the bars are a bit too expensive.

No fire extinguishers anywhere, no price list behind doors, I really wonder if they are operating legit !

Alternatives weren't available, not even in our original, slightly cheaper category.

I was asked before they were delivered how I would pay….. visa I said.

but they didn't tell us, we just found out later, and when we asked, they say that we can surely use the shared pool, even though we didn't have any umbrella assigned to our rooms, so we should take other's umbrella, which would have been really awkward if the other room tenants would want it, as it was assigned to them.

My boyfriend then asked about the report for the key fob and we were told that no report like this even existed!

So at dinner, I then went to get ice cream, I asked one of the members of staff to check the ingredients on the side to make sure it defiantly did not contain gluten, which he assured me it didn’t.

The first time I asked some milk was put down and I had to explain that this is not good for cats and still no water was put down.

When it happened again i asked the waiter why give me Italian water when i'm in a Greek Isle is yours not drinkable ?

We left them behind and literally turned back a few meters later and when asked to the waiters if they saw it, everyone denies it.

There was some early morning noise from the deliveries, we had to request mattress toppers for the beds,

Maid service was daily in the morning and again to turn the beds down at night, we asked the evening service to come a little later as we were still in the room

•	I was disappointed we could not get a late check out, this service was offered in the letter which was provided to us before departure, we only requested the room for an extra 3 hours until 3pm and were happy to pay extra and were even more disappointed when it appeared that our room had not be touched when we walked past just before 3pm.

We asked for a late checkout (for the second time that week) my partner explained I had been unwell during the night.

Main restaurant is buffet style for breakfast and evening meal (men are requested to wear trousers and everyone did for the evening sitting) with so much choice I was overwhelmed.

but there was no encouragement to socialise with others and on one evening we were asked by the bar man, who was instructed by the owner to stop laughing so loud !

but no taxi at designated time, had to chase with reception, taxi 15 mins late and it was the same driver as before, asked porter to tell him not to use phone while driving, if it hadn't been so late I would have refused to travel with him but we were one of the last to check in, a stressful end to the holiday.

It's a joke when you have heard the rep advise people not to go on the local train over health and safety fears,as " we at TUI take health and safety very seriously " room service do not provide any coffee,soap ect other than that in the room on arrival, it took 2 request at reception and a wait of 18 hours to get a few sachets of coffee.

We are quite fussy with ‘buffet’ food

Eating: We opted for half board and enjoyed dinner, and breakfast, in the main restaurant.

The food was absolutely delicious and the recommendation on the wine was perfect.

The buffet breakfast was among the best we ever had; our upgraded room with our own private pool and view of the sea was fantastic; and the spa/fitness center was amazing.

The food we could not fault, the breakfast was delicious – everything you can thing of and more!

Breakfast and dinner were more than full, full of choices and quality food and the Mitato restaurant where we dined exceeded our expectations.

The Greeks call it "filoxenia" (hospitality), and they seem to have perfected it at the Royal Senses.

You're out of luck if your phone is not in your pocket.

The phone upstairs in the Villa was not programmed at all and the other phone only dialed certain numbers.

Only downside, is that the hotel is rather isolated and therefore if you want to travel around/get out of the resort for a bit it wouldn’t be the hotel for you and that one of the bar men was on his phone, when he clearly knew we were waiting to be served!

I couldn’t book restaurants or request any services without calling them.

Who wants to eat onion rings and chips for breakfast?

I personally felt like he was being rude to them as well and even hung up on the phone that kept ringing without even greeting who was calling.

The only issue we had was that the towels didn’t get replaced for the first three nights even with the request on the door and the call.

but we’re told we couldn’t get one that night and had to wait for the manager in the morning who would call us.

The management did not approve, as an unfriendly and agressive lady told me over the phone.

Housekeeping and Room Service keep their phones off the hook so you can never easily ask for something.
