The resort has very friendly management who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

The staff was so friendly and helpful answering any questions we had.

The stuff from security to all the way to management were so friendly that we felt so comfortable.

When every single staff member you encounter - from the receptionist to the manager to the guard at the door - is that nice, friendly and helpful, I could only think of the level of service at the Four Seasons.

but this month i had a family vacation we stay 2 night we were disappointed with every service we get for example we want eat boffe lunch the food was disaster and we want order fast food from room service at 11:00 they told as that they cant make it so what i saw so far is haile resort is going in wrong managment way from what i know i have been complianing at reception too but no change let someone from the management wants to see this thats why am writing this then the service everything is ok

I had to tell the resort management to rearrange the meeting hall and deploy ventilating fans so my guests can feel comfortable.

The staff suck up to few big tippers, the kitchen and bars don't function often may be because of the "power" problems and haile resort management doesn't seem to care anymore.

but the management should think about their maintenance staff uniform gash. .

Management clearly knows how to run this hotel with perfection.

but I don't think the management company is doing this place justice.

It took a lot of discussion and only after bringing in the manager, the issue was solved and we got the difference back.

(Note to management:  if you cut the grass and trimmed the hedges, the gardens would be perfect!)

The manager was only able to replace the broken phone.

but have no understanding for the way his management is treating their guests.

Even I did claims to the restaurant manager nothing changed.

Haile needs to get his act together and get in proper management or he will lose everything.

My biggest disappointment was the fact that the Manager that was requested by a customer never bothered to come talk to us.

Haile, you need to get a grip on this, your management team clearly cannot.

They really should provide mosquito nets over the beds in this environment.

but make sure you close the mosquito door.

It is a bit surprising that there is no air conditioning in the rooms, especially as windows have to be kept shut at night against mosquitoes

Unlike other hotels outside of Addis, they do not have bed nets for the mosquito: they spray the rooms.

Be mindful of mosquitoes (there are more since it's so close to water).

While the window could have been opened, it would have let in too many night insects (but no mosquitoes surprisingly!).

but mine was lacking mosquito screens on the windows and the shower faucet was not fixed (very hard to take a shower.

The mosquito screen to the balcony is torn, and according to other TripAdvisor reviews, this issue was already reported months ago and still not fixed in most of the rooms.

I wanted to make a phone call to the United States, to wish my mother a happy birthday only to be told that I could only make local calls.

but after several reminder phone calls over several days one was fixed.

For example to get a plug for the jug that was in the room there were 2 phone calls and 2 visits to reception.

After I left Awassa a got a call from the reservation office.

In additional to all this, one of my colleague has lost his phone while sitting around the bar and we were not able to recover the lost phone.

Can improve on customer service as the reception calls were hardly answered

We managed to get it by nagging them on the phone.

When the room didn't have towels I spent over 2 hours repeatedly call and begging room service to bring towels.

I would like to make a special mention to the fact I forgot my trouser in the room and I did not realise it until I got a call from the Hotel that the house-keeping had found my trouser in the room and they were trying to figure out the best way for them to return it to me.

Only complaint is that when you try to call the reception from Addis noone answers for hours and they take days to answer e-mails.

Starting from welcoming guests, the service was very good with family friendly staff.

All the staff respect for their customers.

We stayed in the resort for more than a week and the reception, the waitresses and all the resort staffs have an excellent customer handling and I recommend it to all travellers.

All the staff (employees) are well- educated !

Haile Resort was incredible and the staff were even better.

The management and staff treated the group with first class hospitality.

Standards are maintained at high level, views on the lake are beautiful and all staff  is really helpful and devoted to customers.Again, it's really a place to go and to enjoy.

I am the kind of person who likes sweets .

My luggage was delayed and I got a lot of help from the customs relations employee.

I never experienced this warm service any where in world even considering coming from USA, I never seen this such incredible services WELL trained stuff.

The service is impeccable from a very professional and well-trained staff.

There was only cold water available in the shower and anytime it was turned on, water would come from the bottom and make the whole bathroom floor wet.

Food average minus, served cold and also after asking for warming still not enough warm.

but still expect you to eat it, and the breakfast buffet can be cold and incomplete.

The staff was really helpful, always friendly and funny.

At USD120 a night (riverside room at $110 plus $10 for child's bed), to find the grass between our water view room and the lake hadn't been mowed, that there was broken furniture at the seating area used exclusively by the handful of lakeside rooms, and to see power points hanging out of the wall (super fun with a small child) was disappointing.

The guidebook said that the furniture wee 'garish'.

After dinner, we went to our room…turns out, room is filled with cheap furniture that doesn't work (bedside lighting, etc); bathroom shower built to pretend like high tech shower barely works and stuff kept breaking inside the shower that we were scared we might get electrocuted.

although a little retouch is needed on few room furniture.

It was during this time that either my belongings (a tactical belt and sleeping-bag-sized field mosquito net with carrier) were either stolen by the staff member helping her move or they were left in the room.

After we reported the problems, we could change our room and ended up in lake view room that was much better (hairdryer in the room, better water pressure, less mosquitoes)

Despite eating at the waterside at dusk we were not bothered by mosquitoes at all in early December,

If you like to have an updated hotel room, or have a mosquito fobia, do not even think about staying in one of the hotel rooms in the back of the hotel during July-August.

but terrible in other places) shower, low water pressure and worst of all the dusty mosquito nets being to close to your face when sleeping (lake view rooms).

but one needs a mosquito net which was not provided on day 2.

but there was a mozzy net which I didn't use or need.

A minus, I found, was the colony of mosquitoes which had taken possession of the bed- and bathrooms; a persistent crew, only subdued by rigorous aerosol spraying by hotel staff.

Mosquitoes found their way in through ill-fitting screens in the bathrooms.

but the windows need net screen as without it too many mosquitos enter the room and have a party on your body.

The pool was bright green - not sure if this is intentional - and there were uncovered drains, broken chairs and a lack of places to put your towels, sunscreen and belongings while swimming.

There was also a very strange odor in our room which made it very difficult to stay in.

The hallway smell terrible and the floors are covered with hundreds of thousands of dying male musquitos each night.

Sofa in the room was disgustingly dirty that we had to show the staff that it was unacceptable.

The hotel is fairly good, right on the water front; the rooms are well kept and clean, staff are pleasant too.

They habe plenty of stsff who are very attentive to your needs.

Food was great, staff was very nice (with our dog as well).

The receptionist was really unuseful and icompetent person.

the marketing director Wube was always ready to help and so was the entire staff.

That the plumbing here was done professionally and worked well is  an accolade worth giving.

but why the reception clerk didn't put us in the nicer of the two rooms, which were the same rate per night, from the beginning is beyond me.

Its as if another guest just checked out and hotel staff  didn't make sure the room was clean and organized before new customers came in.

We changed to a room on first floor with screened windows (it's actually a little cheaper because it has gardeb instead if lake view.

but to open a window invited in the noise of the area: Honking geese, screaming monkeys, crickets, etc.

I got up in the morning prior to everyone and open my curtain to check out the sunrise and snick out for a morning fresh air by the lake.

but not very deep plot, nearly all of which is occupied by the hotel building, so the car park is particularly narrow, as is the bar.

The staff are very nice, professional, friendly and treat customers like family.

There is an open-air café on the ground floor, encircled by a watercourse with fountains; the height of the surrounding buildings means that there is no need for canopies or umbrellas to provide shade from the sun.

although further staff training is desirable and the standard of English was not particularly high, surprising in a country where secondary education is in English and where a high level of English conversation is widespread.

Warning for credit card scam ⚠️  

Many months after our stay at the Awassa Heron hotell we found out that the Hotel was still withdrawing money from our accounts.

It has been the worst experience of my life with several payments withdrawn from my account and credit card simultaneously.

I advise all their former customers to go through their accounts/Credit cards to check everything is alright!

A quiet place with no sound pollution, friendly and helpful staff!

The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel at home.

hotel withdraws money from their customers several times, both bank accounts and Master or Visa Cards are at risk.

but unfortunately you cannot keep it open at night due to mosquitoes.

The very big TV was sitting on the desk (so no usable desk) and there was little storage space.

but actually debited my account so technically it stole 8000 Birr from me the staff were very unhelpful

LOCATION-A great location literally three minutes walk from the lake ask for a bedroom with lake views
FOOD-- The breakfast we had was adequate and as vegetarians more than met our needs
BEDROOM-  The bedroom was large, clean, bright

The staff was very friendly, courteous and competent.

The serenity of the hotel, combined with the friendly atmosphere and service made our stay very comfortable.

The staff ignored my egg order for half an hour while I was asking 3 times for it, and all others who came before me got their orders..

Once even the receptionist lady was quite amused to see me so annoyed with this situation.

The toilets were not working properly and the staff in general seems a bit chaotic.

And so the negative 

1) Unprofessional Reception and Waiting Staff, Rude and not interested in their job or customers

2) No hot water for three days when I asked was told it's ok it's not hot

However, they are not responding to all my/our request to do so

but the price is not reasonable for such kind of poor service in many cases!

however,our table for 25 was not ready.We did help ourself out.The hotel restorant was very crowded for there was graduation from Hawassa university.And all the waiters were very busy and  we were forgotten on the roof top.So some of us had to host in taking orders and serving drinks.While some of us were busy in remind them to bring us our Lunch.It took them forever .We  were lucy enough to keep ourselves busy enjoying the view of Hawassa from the top.The view is amazing.I find out that the hotel is five star  looking down to the swimming pool.They have gym too.

But when we came to the restaurant the device was very poor and the food came after more then one hour waiting cold to our table.

but the room only offered one towel and one tea serving.

The bath room smell bad and not clean,I will not recommend this hotel.Hard to get towel and towel is not clean.

The room service took our towels and we never got new ones, even when we were asking more than one time for it.

Starting from the door everybody was very friendly and helpful.

Hawassa has always been a friendly and touristic place which I love and appreciate.

I lost my money from their safe and the management was so unprofessional in handling it.

I see all staff they are honest and they given to customer international service .

We understood that the rooms had aircon - which they didn't and

The shower stall is an annoying plastic bubble.

And there were mosquitos in the bathroom so I waited again for someone to come with some spray - so much for "luxury" I must have wasted about an hour of my time just calling and waiting for the room to be put right.

The staff were exceptionally kind and friendly at all times, and really sought to please us with our international tastes.

but a lot of the technology no longer works, this meant moving to a new room, when the bedight light control wouldn't allow some lights to work.
