Good meals both at breakfast time and at dinner - breakfast buffet and daily changes of menu at dinner time with good choice of drinks from the bar.

The town itself was very clean with a few shops and bars

which consisted of a help yourself salad bar as a starter, followed by delicious HOME MADE soup , your choice from the 2 set hot main meals  delicious and of restaurant 5 star standard with amazing flavour and presentation.

The town is only a very short walk away and there are cash machines, bars, cafes and supermarkets.

Comfortable room -serviced & cleaned every day,great view from balcony & St. Georgen is the ideal base, shops, bars and places of local interest to visit.

Well stocked bar, pleasant comfortable accomodation and all rooms well appointed.

Contrary to what is stated in their brochure, the itinerary is not available upon demand and we found the head office reluctant to provide as such because customers havre complained in the past when excursions have been altered.

however we were JUST served, reluctantly I feel, in the passing(Customer care and skills - nil) They blame Eclipse for the mix up, however, on leaving the next day a basket of 14 bottles of Tilerhof house wine was distributed to the group, a bribe???

but somebody else with no early duties should be behind the bar to accommodate the 20 or so customers who were also on Xmas hols & who also wanted to stay for a drink later than 11 pm.

I was impatient to explore on my own and relieved when the guide did eventually finish.

But it was booked by head office apparently and no blame could be attributed to the drivers..
Apart from these few niggles, overall the week was brilliant and we would not hesitate to book with Leisuretime again,

Garden Umbrellas were down, only a table lamp on in the dark reception area no personnel around, all INSIDE doors locked.

I was shocked to see a member of staff lighting up on several occasions in the bar which is part of the dining area.

No longer is the fantastic food available and the friendly family run atmosphere.

This is a lovely Austrian Hotel run by Gunter and his wife Ingrid she cooks beautifully and both breakfast and dinner are excellent .

After the very filling evening meals we enjoyed some lovely walks around the village.

The food was great, with a good variety for breakfast, and a fixed evening meal.

but the food and the ambience in the restaurant more than made up for this.

After reading the other reviews and appreciating some of the comments all I can say is that we found the room to be clean and the beds comfortable.

Rooms are clean and cosy with extremely comfortable beds and the area is peaceful and quiet.

We visited the Eagles Nest, Hallstatt, St.Gilgen, Mondsee and a surprise optional excursion to Salzburg which was great.

The food was excellent as was the entertainment.

Stayed six days over new year.rooms very clean we had a lovely balcony with terrific views the food was exquisite with an eight course dinner and dance on new years eve which we celebrated twice @ midnight for austria and at one for back home.

Most people use the rear entrance anyway as the car park is around the back.

My Wife and I stayed with Thomas and Anna for 7 days in early July 2009, Travelsphere weren't going that week so we took the car from Hampshire!.

Upon arrival struggled to find the hotel due to the plants completely overgrown and hiding the signs.

The hotel is very dated at least at the back and sides, as a single traveller I was not given the option of a lakeview room and found the side of the hotel dark due to the large amount of trees.

We were unable to be moved due to lack of room apparently.

The evening entertainment was fun and you didnt have to join in if you didnt want.

I was astounded to read the first review that i found here, and became worried as to what to expect;

At this level of hotel one does not expect the full trimmings of shampoo and toiletries to be offered,

We had lovely food, clean rooms and the best location in Austria.

The room was kept clean and tidy by the staff.

The hotel was clean and the room large and airy,with a fantastic view over the lake.

Sure there is a veranda type area with ample seating with tables if required where smokers can go under cover.

The only criticism i have is that there was sometimes a strange (not objectionable)  smell in the rooms,

The bathroom smelt of urine and Iam sure the w.c. had never seen any bleach!!

Huge and very comfortable bed, a practical sitting area, a flat screen tv, a nice bathroom and a big balcony made us feel like at home.

If you are one to have your meal, then retire to yout room, to read, rest or watch tv this was suffice.

There is a small tourist information centre opposite the hotel and a bar at a hotel down the road.

The dining room is run with usually just one waiter who also works the bar, so getting meals out is done without ceremony and if you haven't finished your previous course then the next will be put in front of you in any case!

There is a nice garden bar where we ate out in one night when we had a barbeque.

Drinks cost what you would expect in the region not cheap

There is a pub and museum in the village and a spar shop.

This is obviously a smaller establishment that is not used to dealing with coach parties - or if it does, does not really cater for them?

but we were told in no uncertain terms that we had to sit inside.Most of the tour party agreed that we were made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a paying customer.

With around 40 in our party and other guests too the poor lad was rushed off his feet.

but be advised that your room key does let you in the door round the back by the car park, (a couple of our  party didn't realise this and happened to find this out by chance.)

The staff were without exception friendly and welcoming, the food was good, the rooms were spotless and the bed comfortable.

We had a very good size room which was clean and comfortable.

I shared a room with my sister and we had a twin bed and and also a single in the reasonably sized clean room.

The second thing you notice is how clean it is - the rooms are immaculate.

On arrival the welcome by the owner was nice and pleasant we were shown to our room which was more like an appartment the room was vast with its own kitchen, pantry, living/dining room and everything was spotlessly clean there was a lack of storage for clothes so most of them stayed in the suitcase.

but the  village itself doesnt really appear to cater for the tourist trade and is very quiet and undeveloped.. 

i was in room 19  ((single ) at the back of the hotel but didnt get a view of the lake., just the back garden.

After the sun goes down, the scenery of a lovely countryside is changing into a mystic silence, breaking down only by waves on the dark water of the See surface.

Very annoying was the fact that the senior owner was frying bacon in dark brown grease on the buffet.

There is no power socket nearby, except by plugging off the TV.

although there is also a discounted electric boat to hire €10 an hour for guests.

Ask for the wing with the elevator if you need it.

The are no elevators, so we had to make a couple of journeys with suitcases up one flight of stairs.

The service was great, the room was clean, comfortable and had a great view to the Attersee lake.

Excellent place, excellent cook,unforgetable watter for swimmer, paradise for fishers, sailors etc.and heaven for tourist.

But communication was no problem.Our room had a good lake view and we enjoyed sitting at the balcony table sipping wine while unwinding from our tourist adventures.For the more active the hotel provides kayaks, canoes, row boats and bicycles.

If your fancy golf - there is a stunning new golf course with the most fantastic views ever.

The staff were polite and welcoming and the rooms were spotless.

We were on a self-guided, hiking/walking trip with a rental car through the Salzkammergut region (sometimes called the Lake District of Austria).

The hotel is easy to find and has easy parking if you have a car.

Food was overpriced for what you get, not even good tasting, charged €4.50 just to sit at a table!.

It has the feel of a hotel from an American Express credit card TV commercial for high end travelers.

Out of 15 nights of eating in this area, this was the only meal we were not impressed with
A very small piece of local caught fish with not much else cost 29.00 euros
We were a group of 13 and were charged 45 euros to set the table (disgusting)
The restaurant was booked 2 months in advance and we were called to change our reservation time earlier, we were not impressed

As we were traveling with our Emilie (adorable Teckel/Dachshund a small charge normally applies.

but never felt  comfortable in the hotel , no atmosphere  , plus the weather was poor ( raining ) 

In Mondsee  when it rains  it appears nothing to do , no shops to wander around 
It gave better weather in Vienna  , so we left  . Think is the weather been bit better , would have stayed just one more night  , re fab room , great view of the lake

Would we stay in Mondsee again  ( depends on the  weather , would we stay at the same hotel NO )

we had  36 hours of rain ;it was a very .

The hotel is new and modern, our room was clean and serviced every day.

Room and balcony overlooked Mondsee lake and alps, every comfort available in spotlessly clean room.

Rooms large, comfortable and clean with a new shower room and new toilet.

The bathroom and bedroom were light and I had a balcony - I stayed at the back of the hotel as the previous  reviews said it was quieter.

Room 201 good size, comfortable with good storage space, adequate bathroom and shower.

We slept well and the shower worked most of the time.

It was also mobility friendly, there was an elevator to all floors and my room had a walk-in shower.

The shower was lovely with plenty of hot water.

We had a second floor room which was more than adequate apart from an ill fitting shower glass in the bathroom which let a little water out onto the tiled floor.

but could hear people leaving.Typical Austrian design - dark wood and every room different, but mine was clean, well provided with storage and adequate bathroom with excellent shower.

We were given a nice, clean twin, with a very small toilet and a separate bathroom.

Rooms are quiet and have separate WC and bathroom, which is good.

I brought my own with me and had to lean over the TV and unplug it and plug in my adaptor and hairdryer plug.

but you can borrow a hair dryer, - I  would have thought a greater risk than a kettle!

but badly in need of modernisation especially bedrooms no A/C bathroom facilities poor not even a hairdryer!

however there were no tea/coffee making facilities which was very disappointing.

Please do not use this hotel if you are trying to watch your weight!

but if you are open minded then you will find (even though the menu is a little unclear translated to English) that the food here is really good.

but Thursday night the music bar opposite had a party that went on till early hours so because we were hot in bed we left the window open!!! Mistake.

The choice was to keep the window open and be kept awake by the traffic, or close the double glazed window(which kept out most of the traffic noise,

The sheets were darned, tiles missing on bathroom floor, no air con and impossible to leave windows open due to the road works and church bell which rang between 10 and  20 times at 6 am.

The room overwhelming smelt of stale smoke even with the balcony door left open.

but if you wanted tap water you had to pay which is not good customer service.

Not cheap considering how much we paid for tour.

but no doubt the price reflects that, and Lake Attersee is a short distance away.

At dinner times, the  plated food was brought to us , usually cold and unattractive looking.

The food was lovely, fresh salads and a good variety, the set menu had good variety and choices for a 4 night stay.

Just stayed 4 nights for xmas excellent food nice room and warm welcome  enjoyed my stay  friendly  staff enjoyed the daily trips out the staff worked very hard and long hours would go again  lovely place would  recommend  to anyone  going  there

The best course was the salad which was very nice.

The evening meals were basic and  obviously  made very economically.

In all fairness the food is typically Austrian,  not catered specifically to the British taste
