Getting to the motel can be a bit confusing, especially in the dark coming from Astoria, because the driveway looks like you are entering a U-Haul business.

We arrived about dark and had a time finding our way in.

This hotel is very dark and dingy, not very clean either.

The decor was the worst of what looked like 1970s style (clashing colors and prints), and the room was small, dark and depressing.

The people were very friendly and accommodating and went above and beyond to show their hospitality.

Spent 4 days & the staff was very friendly & accommodating!

One thing I didn't like was how loud it was upstairs.

A family with 2 adults and 4 small children were checked in above us and we SO disruptive and loud all day and night.

Unfortunately, on our 3rd night a very very loud group moved into the room above us and has been running, jumping, and yelling consistently since arriving.

The AC was so loud and did a weird pulsing thing.

We were packing up to head back home and there goes some loud banging Again at 9:00am.

My room was on the 1st floor - I highly DO NOT recommend staying on the 1st floor as you will hear the people above you moving around in their room, was VERY loud.

The actual location of the hotes is poor.

The only complaint we have is that the signage is so poor it is hard to find.

Not to mention everything else in poor condition.

The desk clerk gave us a recommendation for a wonderful restaurant to celebrate the occasion.

The breakfast was far more generous than we expected, so we had plenty to eat.

Front desk was very helpful on providing directions to local restaurants for dinner.

All the bars, restaurants, cool shops, sights are in town.

Our favorite on the waterfront is the Bridge Water Bistro.

Breakfast was a fantastic spread with a wide range of food on offer.

but there are only a couple of restaurants within walking distance.

There are numerous good restaurants near the hotel and a great Mexican food restaurant about a mile away.

You must drive to restaurants; we went to Mo's for seafood.

Upon leaving I left a necklace in the room.

It is within walking distance to a few coffee places and restaurants.

Astoria has a couple of really first class restaurants

You can get also free juice/ hot chocolate even at night at Cafe' Hotel.

The staff are very friendly and gave us good recommendations for dinner.

but tasty … and served by two very nice ladies.

As always the staff is wonderful and smiling!

Front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast were all outstanding.

Room was nice and quiet with a great bed, refrigerator, and all the basics, including responsive a/c and heating.

We enjoy this hotel for the views on the upper floors.

We had a jacuzzi tub room overlooking the water,

They also gave us a room overlooking the huge Columbia river.

Excellent view, and very comfortable room.

Our room had dual aspect windows so the view was outstanding.

We had a top floor room with a great view of the bay and river.

However, the view at night was quite lovely.

We were on the 4th floor, and it was so quiet and serene as we enjoyed the view of the Riverwalk and water below.

Its location is in downtown Astoria, 1/2 block off the Main Street.

Astoria was our favorite stop as we enjoyed all the great craft breweries (Buoy, Reach Break, Astoria Brewing, Fort George).

Kat and her hotel staff did a wonderful job of welcoming us to Astoria 

The hotel is centrally located and with walking distance to central Astoria.

Astoria is a Historic town and this hotel represents it perfectly.

Hotel Elliott is our "go to" place in town when we visit Astoria.

If you visit Astoria, this is the place to stay!

but very clean and up to date, in the Heart of Astoria so you can park your car and walk around all weekend without driving!

There is a rooftop area where you can sit and get a great view of Astoria. Beautiful.

Next time we go to the Astoria Sunday Market, we plan to stay at the Elliott.

Coincidentally we were in Astoria for Goonies Day.

We have stayed in several hotels Astoria and would highly recommend Hotel Elliott.

This will be our home base anytime we want to stay in or near Astoria!

I love Astoria and I used to love this hotel.

We travelled to Astoria for an impromptu weekend trip and decided to stay at Hotel Elliott.

Hotel Elliott is a warm and lovely place in downtown Astoria.

This in town hotel is a great location from which to visit Astoria.

I would stay here again if we decided to visit Astoria again.

We decided to stay in Astoria, OR for a night.

We loved going up to the rooftop over looking the city of Astoria.

but was really only interested in making sure she got our credit card.

They charged us a really steep $220 cancellation fee!

We filled out the Comment card and told the Front desk when we checked out.

She didn't even look at the card, just handed us our receipt and said thank you.

when we checked in, the clerk -- unaware of our arrangement -- tried to charge us $185 and said it was their "normal" rate.

My only gripe is that for a four-star hotel charging what they do for a room, the least they could do is stock toothbrushes at the front desk.

They gave my daughter's room key to some one else for the "bridal suite",  charged them for an extra room for his dad.

Visa fixed the problem after I sent my invoice.

although the monitary credit you get if you decline the continental breakfast is minimal.

I ended up mailing down candles, birthday decorations, and birthday and halloween cards (we ended up staying the weekend of halloween) I emailed back and forth with both Amber & Brooke for at least a month as they helped me put together our trip.. when we got there Amber checked us in.. she had us wait as she ran upstairs, she told us she was making sure there wasn't a luggage cart in front of our room..

Front desk friendly & helpful, breakfast service above average, beds comfy, bathroom floor heated, and wine bar on the weekends with a lovely bartender.

This hotel is located in the heart of Astoria and is an easy walk to most places and a lot of restaurants.

Good location to explore Astoria, easy access to some good restaurants, pubs and cafes.

We had fun playing pool in the basement after dinner, and would have loved the rooftop garden if the weather had cooperated.

On a Staycation in Astoria, my goal was to wander Astoria, drinking good beer and eating good food.

We found reviews helpful when planning our trip, decided to start leaving some ourselves.

The elevator was working, the staff were delightful.

Well it was a positively frigid reception.

Hotel Elliot was very clean & the staff wore masks.

Clean and comfortable room, adequate breakfast, lovely rooftop garden area, downtown location, good room rates, helpful staff.

but it had everything we needed, and the lady who runs it was just delightful.

I splurged for $120 more the next night to check out the Cannery Pier Hotel and i think they are both great choices-one (CPH) has the stunning view/high end vibe/big room/perks and the other is less expensive with a fantastic staff and location.

but there is no air conditioning, thus we had to open the windows but being right across the street from a busy and popular restaurant and bar, that proved to be a mistake due to the street noise.

never heard anything except a bit of background street noise (which we both actually enjoy).

The only issue was late at night when the bars let out, it was really noisy in the streets when we had the windows open.

The windows open up and there is very little street noise.

Double windows kept the street noise and cold air from creeping in.

There was no air conditioning in our room and the first night was warm enough to require the windows to be left open which invited some outside street noise

Even with both the large and small windows wide open all night there wasn't any problem with noise from the street below - Astoria is very quiet at night.

Can be a bit noisy at night if people on the street are whooping it up in the wee hours.

The windows had recently been re-done so that there was absolutely no street noise despite the fact we were only on the second floor and could see the party goers below.

Not even earplugs are able to muffle the seemingly constant street noise of trucks and machinery (street sweepers?).

You can hear some street noise in your room,

but couldn't take the noise from the streets below.

but the next morning (Friday) we were awakened at 6am by a street sweeper roaring past our window at a snail's pace.

Our room was on a busy street and was quite noisy during the day.

As well, given the windows needed to be open for ventilation there was more street noise than I would have hoped.

Location: West side of the city, under Astoria-Megler Bridge.

My family just finished up a trip through the Southwest and Northwest U.S., and the price of the room was more than 5 star resorts and hotels in major cities that we stayed in.

Astoria marks the last city in Oregon after resort towns including Pacific City, Cannon Beach, and Pacific City.

Location within walking distance of the historical city of Astoria and a lot of restaurants.

Got a room on the city side and you are right next to a major thoroughfare.

This hotel and city are 2 jewels of the Pacific Northwest.

Homeless camp right next door, terrible place.

My only complaint is the layout of the furniture in the room, the bed is right in the front room area when you walk in the door, and the couch, fireplace and 'living area' if you will, are back in the room by the window and view, it would be much more comfortable and enjoyable if the bed was back in the room by the view/window and fireplace and the couch/desk furniture in the main walkway area.They still have breakfast during covid to take to-go so that was nice, there wasn't a pen in the room to fill out the breakfast slip

From the moment you walk in the door until the time you leave you know they are working hard!

If you have your window open, the door SLAMS shut.

I informed the man cleaning the pool door and he sorted the mess.

but why do other guests insist on just letting the door bang shut when entering or leaving their room.

Since we prefer to use stairs when possible, we were delighted to find the stairway was carpeted and reachable without banging a door open and shut -- much more homey.

Why do hotels, especially expensive ones not take the time to make their doors shut quietly.

even though there was one of those old-fashioned pass-through doors.

When you step out the back door you are on the Astoria Riverwalk.

Moreover the hotel room doors are loose so every time some other guest  closes their door, ours rattled.

You could plainly hear doors closing and full conversations at normal voice levels from people walking through the hallway.

I could hear people next door talking and a baby crying 2 doors down.

If you are a light sleeper I recommend not being near one of the entry or exit doors because they are solid and close well with a bit of a noise.

More annoying is the banging of the outside doors.

But you're still in the overall town itself, right at the foot of the access to the stoic Astoria-Megler Bridge, and there are some options for food, drink, or limited sightseeing right outside the door too.

The room was clean, front desk was friendly, and the hotel overall is clean and nice.

Hopefully the next new manager there    So friendly and happy an incredible employee thank you again
