Such an improvement over thermostats in hotel rooms that sometimes seem to be centrally controlled.

Looks like a split heating cooling system that is a popular choice for both residential and commercial buildings these days.

We did have some trouble with the thermostat

We were joined by folks who don't live near the ocean and the freighters coming up the Colombia right past your room, blew their mind.

Also in the bathroom the light and the fan are on the same circuit which is very annoying.

The bathroom exhaust fan had a thick layer of dust that would drop on you when it was turned on.

- TV was very small (maybe 27-34”)
- Mini fridge was in need of a defrost and a thorough wipe-down 
- The shower stall was tiny, the glass was cloudy/looked like it had soap scum on it, and the shower door was either flimsy or poorly installed - it rattled like you’d expect in a motel or a 1998 cheap basement remodel.

Also, there are no foam pillows (I am not a fan of the down).

Also if you like a little white noise or moving air like us, there is a fan in the closet.

The second night we decided to leave the balcony window open with a box fan (supplied with the room) in front of it running both to cover up the "hum" and to enjoy some of the cool night air (the room was a bit warm for us both

And then we realized there is no AC - the next two days were quite warm.

We picked a bad couple of days to visit, as the temperature soared and we could not get the room cooled down during the night, to be able sleep comfortably.

Room was extremely hot on arrival and there is no air conditioning and just one little window to open.

I would urge switching over, where possible, to items that are not individually packaged.

Although there is no A/C, a box fan was provided.

Every moment was delightful, from the complimentary wine hour to the scented robes, soaking tub with views of the river, outstanding breakfast, and the complimentary classic car shuttle around town.

The  room was beyond expectation;  unbelievable 
views, coffee station, lighting,  tub,  robes,   fireplace, and so  many nice touches.

We had a jetted tub and complementary Epsom salt which helped me cool down after a long day in the sun.

Our room was spotless— we watched the ships go by our window- we had a fire place -a tub and separate shower a
 a wet bar- dining/work table — all rooms have Pendleton throws for cozy—super impressive and can’t say enough nice things about the place.

The large bathroom contained a stand alone shower and large claw foot tub and separate water closet.

Room was beautiful, with a fireplace, balcony, and big soaking tub with louvered doors that provided a view out the windows.

There was a large jet tub with a large window for views.

The claw foot bathtub is such a relaxing feature. The small details in the room made the difference (wet bar, ambience lightning, sofa blanket, binoculars.  )

I especially like the tub and had a long soak --- twice.

The soaking tub with a view was lovely too.

I only wish we stayed long enough for me to take advantage of that gorgeous clawfoot tub.

Also - loved the fireplace, the views, the bathtub, overall a great room.

Room was very nice, fancy shower heads, clawfoot tub, mini fridge, lots of storage, big TV, small table, several chairs, gas fireplace, small balcony.

The claw foot bath tub was a lovely perk!

Nice spa stuff in room and a jacuzzi tub.

In our room every detail was attended to, from the balcony overlooking (on) the water, to the fireplace, rain shower, soaking tub and upscale linens and toiletries.

The interior design, the staff -  especially Ashely at the front desk, the complementary wine reception, the view with every room, the amazing amentities in our room - especially the claw foot deep tub with a view of the Columbia River, the chauffeur - Justin who was absolutely the best, and the ease of making reservations and being checked in made this a dream vacation in Astoria.

I really splurged to stay here and it was absolutely worth it—complimentary happy hour, beach cruisers, sauna and soaking tub, breakfast and you’re literally right on the water.

The reception food was outstanding and their complimentary breakfast was such a treat before heading to my meeting.

however, they happily accommodated us  
Cocktail hour is a must with yummy appetizers and the complimentary breakfast is a real breakfast.

Breakfast was included 7-10AM and Coffee was available after 4 PM in lobby.

We enjoyed wine hour,  the spa, and breakfast.

Breakfast is also a must with eggs, sausage, and fresh fruit.

They have made progress with their updated breakfast and a new bar.

Lovely breakfast and an evening wine hour.

The complimentary self-serviced breakfast is also above average.

Morning coffee and included breakfast were also nice.

From making sure we had breakfast for our early departures to helping us take care of a truck with a trailer.

Breakfast was delicious, and it's just a short walking distance to a good restaurant.

The nightly wine hour with appetizers was very much welcomed and delicious.

The breakfast buffet was better than  average hotel offerings with delicious little egg soufflés, sausage, ham, a nice selection of pastries and other selections.

We enjoyed the wine hour in the lobby bar, with delicious appetizers using the local smoked salmon, before walking over to a nearby bistro for the best dinner.

We did an impromptu tour of Astoria in the vintage Rolls Royce.

I would also suggest a microwave in the breakfast area.

Courtesy cars - an old Rambler and a Rolls - are a cool touch when we did.

An evening drive to and from dinner in the Rolls was really fun.

Breakfast was pretty good, the cookies at night delicious.

Make certain to enjoy the complimentary breakfast, social hour at 5pm, and fresh baked cookies at 7pm.

Perks of spa, wine hour, cookies and transportation were nice additions.

We appreciated the Happy Hour, the freshly baked cookies, and the spa!

I was absolutely spoiled with the jetted tub, the wine social hour, and the fresh cookies in the evening.

We loved to be 8n the pilot house, awesome view over the colombia river.

The breakfast, wine tasting, chauffeured tour, lobby coffee, and cookies made everyone feel extra special.

The little “extras” made things extra special-warm cookies, list of inbound and outbound ships during your stay, water bottle refilling station, bikes to borrow and of course the chocolate fish.

The evening wine and cheese tasting, the fresh baked cookies at 7:00 PM and the wonderful breakfast the next morning makes this a complete package.

They advertise a social hour, cookies in the evening, and a buffet breakfast.

The continental breakfast was very good and the cookies in the evening were a treat!

We had not even been aware that the room came with complementary full breakfast, wine and cheese social hour, complementary shuttle service in the hotel’s gorgeous vintage Rolls Royce, and fresh baked cookies every evening.

Definitely take advantage of the excellent continental breakfast served by the nicest people; the wine n hors houris outstanding; and fresh cookies at7 pm.

The hotel has a lot of special amenities—ride in vintage car to/from a local bar or restaurant, amazing cookies in the evening and wine/cheese social hour, and other things that we will try out when we come stay here again.

Another great service is transportation to town or dinner in an antique car driven by a staff member.

We walked right down the pier for a convenient dinner that was also lovely!

The breakfast was filling with a very nice eating area.

The car service was also very fun and both drivers were very knowledgeable about the area and even changed our restaurant picks both times and it was worth it.

Everything about our stay was pure magic: the hotel, the staff, the restaurant (Fedé - try it, you won’t be disappointed!

There is a spa with whirlpool, a fitness room and a lovely restaurant within walking distance.

We went down the street and had dinner at the Silver Salmon and it was very nice!

If you can, take the vintage car to dinner.

They have drivers and vintages cars that will drive you to the local restaurants,so need to worry about directions, parking, etc and they will even make recommendations on restaurants and call for your reservations.

We could walk to a great dinner at Bridgewater Bistro.

the car service offered for dinner reservations is a very nice addition to your stay.

Hope new restaurants open that matches the caliber of excellence near the Cannery Pier.

Make sure you go to the astoria brewery restaurant.

Our room is stunning, with an incredible view over the river.

The rooms are stunning with everything you can imagine.

Every room has a view of the Columbia river where you can see the bridge, ships, and wildlife.

There is a small dressing room and one shower with a few lockers.

A very nice staff and exceptional clean rooms.

We had four nights at the Cannery Pier and it was excellent,  friendly staff, amazing rooms with fabulous amenities and superb views.

All rooms have full view of the Columbia River, and you are provided with the schedules of the passing ship types and nationalities.

I have been coming here since 2009, and fell in love with the views and the gorgeous, romantic rooms.

The room was gorgeous and had a fantastic view.

From the room, the view, the staff— we loved it.

The room was immaculate, huge, clean, and just downright amazing.

We stayed in room 210 and the view was phenomenal.

Room to spread out and a place for everything.

So much to see and do in this river city, and when you’re done, a great room to relax in.

The room decor was extremely tasteful - everything fit and flowed.

From the moment you step into your room, you're greeted by stunning panoramic views of the Columbia River.

We were in room 311 which gave us fabulous views.

We really were taken with the view of the Columbia river and the large ocean going ships passing very close to our windows.

Watching the ships travel by, makes one feel the world is at your finger tips.

I can stare at the bridge and the water all day long, and watching the ships come in was such a treat.

We saw so many ships and other watercraft as well as all sorts of birds.

We saw a seal right outside our window, and enjoyed the ships passing right by our window.

This hotel was so much fun to watch the ships come in.

Our room was very comfortable and saw lots of ships go by.

Watching the ship traffic is great as the ship channel is just a few hundred feet beyond the hotel.

We were fortunate during our stay to see at least 8 different ships.

We enjoyed the view - watching the ships and time away.

Super clean property right on the waterfront with quality amenities including Pendleton blanket and binoculars to sit and watch ships and wildlife on your deck.

We had a great view of the ocean and even got a list of the ships we saw sailing by.

Loved watching the huge cargo ships glide past the window and u Der the bridge.

but enjoyed watching the ships come and go as well as the water-loving birds.

Just hanging out and watching the ships is a wonderful experience

Lots of places to sit and watch the ships.

Watching the ships cruise by was also remarkable.

Later they put out fresh baked cookies that you can smell as soon as you step out of your room.

The second challenge with breakfast was that the tables in the lobby were filthy.

You do have to take your dog a ways to reach grass and there is not a smoking section on the property so you do have to walk or drive to reach an area to smoke.

We took the smaller room, which had no patio and filthy windows that I see no hope for ever being cleaned given the design of the hotel.

There were so many stains on the carpet and furnishings, we were grossed out enough to complain and they switched us to another room.

We did not consume anything as I refused to pay the Cannery Pier one cent more! Most embarrassing of all: I’m 99% sure there was a booger (!!??)

but it was a bummer that smoke alarm started beeping at 2 am and woke us up from a sound sleep.

The bathroom sink behind the faucet was very dirty with some kind of mold or rust and the hot water faucet handle fell off during use.

but a little time to air out the area and allow the disinfectant to work would have ensured safety.

Our pillows smelled like dirty gym socks, the mini fridge was louder than a semi trucks brakes, the toilet was broken and was not even a standard toilet and there was a huge gap under our door so you could here everything in the hall.

So we closed our door, only to have the marijuana smoke seep into our room through the adjoining door that connected our rooms.

We had an issue - someone was smoking from their porsch - actually blowing the smoke out the window and then blowing down to my open window/door.

However, riding in a 1950 Plymouth that smelled musty is just a gimmick.

.cigarette smoke coming from close patio areas where we could not open our patio door without being on the receiving end of the smell.

Add the afternoon wine and cheese hour, with smoke salmon added just because they can.

A beautiful location, perfect room and made to feel so welcome by Jamie at the door and Bailey on the bar, alongside the doormen whose name I didn’t catch.

The staff was wonderful, making it an experience of luxury at its finest.

Staff was very helpful and knowledgable about local restaurants and activities in area.

Service was outstanding with a very helpful front desk staff.

They made you feel special before, during, and after your visit by sending you email acknowledgements and made a framed hard copy of a photo if you were willing to upload.

The included evening reception from 5-6pm poured very nice wine and offered a cheese and cracker plate that was delicious!

I also came to town because I was hosting a meeting for my professional organization.

The people that work there, are always helpful and nice.

The staff all went out of there way to take care of us.

The staff were all very friendly, courteous and helpful.

The views from the spa are waterfront and very nice.

Pet rooms are on the 1st floor and are nice and clean, and still have a great view.

Walk across a cute bridge to a delicious dinner at Rogue Brewery or Crab house.

The breakfast didn’t look appetizing so we skipped that.

I would recommend that the breakfast be improved.

The breakfast in the morning had a decent selection.

The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good.

Breakfast was a nice start to the day and we had a number of good choices.

-Free and reliable WIFI
-Plenty of free parking
-Comfortable Bed - slept well
-Free hot breakfast

Cons:
-This is an older hotel that could use an upgrade with it's interior.

We would definitely recommend staying here, clean room, very comfortable beds and nice breakfast.

A simple breakfast was provided and this was adequate.

They had a decent breakfast and clean laundry facilities.

There was a great complimentary breakfast each morning, a decent gym to workout in while on vacation, and you can walk into town from the Hampton Inn.

Decent breakfast in the morning, parking & Wi-Fi included.

The worker promptly stocked the breakfast items.

Right on the water, clean, comfortable, hot breakfast, dinner options nearby, lots of parking.

Large clean rooms, great friendly service.

We will write to Hilton management also, would be interesting to know if the Hilton policy of customer service has changed.

Hopefully management can take some notes and make the minor upgrades.

Management needs to address the black mold growing around the shower fixtures and insert.

The manager of the Astoria Hampton should not be in the hospitality industry.

I think corporate Hilton needs to change their motto if Managers are not going to follow it.
