Breakfast are superb, with a variety of cheeses (labelled with a short description), cooked meals (eggs, bacon, etc), fine bakery, and so on.

Breakfast and dinner were really a different experience.

As is so often the case, the difference is often the human contact , and everyone we came into contact with had an excellent and friendly attitude .

I can strongly recommend the Christmas package which includes a junior suite, breakfasts, Christmas eve dinner and one entry to the spa for the entire family.

You need to have a car to go into town as there is only a small steep path (it is almost a hike) to get into town and at evening it isn’t illuminated.

but you do need a car to drive into town as the road is steep and dangerous for walking.

but you can pay 10 euro per night to have your car in their secure car park.

You will need a car to get to Vielha, there is no footpath and the distance is about 1 km on a busy road with a lot of trucks.

but to get to the start of most walks that (for instance) the Tourisme recommends you need a car, or to take a taxi, or there are local buses to some of them.

The ramp is also quite steep as you enter the lower car park by the main doors – not a problem

Steep driveways so you damage your car? No.

Odd numbered rooms 301-339 all face the car park (dull!).

The only criticism was that the car park was not adequate  - maybe because we arrived late,

The entrance driveway is down a steep slope and the front of my Sports car grounded out and nearly ripped the front spoiler off !

Having scraped my car on the way in down the very steep driveway in, we were presented with a rather featureless hotel.

The windows are tiny and the hotel resembles a prison from the outside on the Car Park side.

Last night, a Friday, until the wee hours of the morning, we heard groups of people talking, laughing, and getting in and out of their cars.

All in all, extremely expensive for what you get.

Was a little disappointed at the high additional cost to use the spa area, given that we had booked x4 rooms for the night, it cost us around 90 Euros to use the spa - which is excessive.

In order to get a room "with shower" and "away from the streets", we were forced to pay approximately 50% more!

You pay more than 100€ basically to sleep with the trucks going through the road next to the hotel climbing to the Vielha tunnel.

We didn’t partake in breakfast as we couldn’t justify it - it’s very expensive.

Why not reduce the size and adjust the prices accordingly?

For the price, lack of view, and aging furnishings, we would not stay here again.

I noticed that prices may go down during the week at booking.com so make sure to watch the price.

We visited 4 paradors in the region and the offered plates were almost the same and not very surprising.. the offered meals in the surrounding towns were better and much cheaper.

The disappointing aspect of this Parador was that there is a charge for the Spa, which costs Parador Amigos €22 after 3.00pm - very expensive

I don't know why they just don't include the spa in the price of the rooms so that this is no longer an issue.

even though you are staying you have to pay to use them!

And then for breakfast I just wanted a bowl of cereal and was amazed to find it was not included in the price and they charged another €18!

The spa looked good, bit a little on the small side and bathing hats and flip-flops had to be purchased as an extra on top of the entrance fee, which seemed a little  over the top in terms of costs and possibly a reason why it was empty.

It wasn't cheap at 194€ for Two nights without breakfast (breakfast was €18 each per personne).

The spa is expensive and not the largest that we have experienced .

Makes the cost of having a balcony a bit of a waste.

We were half board and the buffet breakfast and supper was very good indeed, loads of choice and great quality.

The buffet in the restaurant was something we really didn’t like - the quality of the food was often bad and the room itself had all the charm of a sports hall .Brightly lit and not particularly clean.

We liked this hotel for the location and because of the food (breakfast and dinner).

The best thing is the restaurant, which offers a huge selection of delicious Spanish food at breakfast and dinner.

Meals were buffet style and very, very good.

Breakfast was the same with fresh fried eggs /ommlette available too.

The food was excellent, the breakfast was huge with all kinds of hot and cold choices and you could eat as much as you liked.

The food is excellent - some evenings a set menu (with options per course) and others a buffet.

The choice of food at breakfast was excellent, including gluten free options.

The breakfast was good, a decent choice and the room was big enough to cope with the amount of people.

The breakfast is exactly what you want on a ski holiday, something for everyone and plenty of it,

On the positive side the staff members were very nice, the included breakfast was fantastic and dinner in the restaurant was delicious.

Our stay included breakfast and evening meal and both were wonderful, with plenty of choice.

and then there is dinner - main course usually included something slow cooked often with funghi and herbs typical of the valley (Val d'Aran).

We were staying on a half board basis and were dismayed to find that the dining room didn't open til 8pm which is late for small children, and then everybody arrived at once and the service was a bit slow.

When we checked into our non smoking room it smelt like an ashtray and we when we complained the staff were extremely helpful in offering a replacement room and immediately cleaning our room.

Try not to get a room above the entrance where the smokers congregate and create some late night noise.

Also had an amazing restaurant there, the rest were poor quality fried burgers/steak which were pretty disgusting if I'm being honest.

Disgusting fast-food, and only one good Restaurant (5J) for which you need to book in advance.

Dinners were delicious, the sushi bar is a bless and the whole menu is amazing.

I highly recommand this hotel , specially for the kindness of the staff , the exceptionnal ski service , the very good breakfast .

Every night little sweets and fresh water were brought to your room, in the morning they remembered my breakfast preferences and also celebrated my birthday :)  
They are full of ideas to arrange other trips/excursions for you, as well as for the spa, we had a great massage :) 
Also the connected ski (rental & lessons) people were wonderful, they had a free guide to show us around on the skipistes!

The spa is terrific, and the breakfast delicious (always espresso, unless you order American) A unforgettable ski holiday

So many lovely touches, delicious food and wine, very comfortable rooms, excellent facilities and generally very impressive!

The breakfast buffet had a good variety to offer.

The food was delicious and there was a diverse menu with an extensive wine list.

The food at breakfast is outstanding with everything you could imagine on the buffet and more, including a chocolate fountain.

However for a 5* hotel & 5* cost (600€ a night), it is a shame that some things like mineral water or a simple coffee machine or tea are not featured in the room.

Being a 5 stars hotel there are also a couple of things which will require an improvement:
- speed, coverage and stability of the Wi-Fi
- assortment of pillows
- Nespresso machines in the rooms

Overall highly recommendable

The only thing that they didn't have is coffee and tea in the bedrooms and the coffee at the bar wasn't the best either.

We left without desserts or coffees and wowed to never come back unless this restaurant has a major turnaround.

Our knowledge of English, French, Russian and German was often not enough even to buy a cup of tea or get a napkin.

- top level of junior suite, especially the bathroom, can get quite cold
- windows on 3rd and 4th floor are built into the roof and often covered by snow.

If I had to make a remark, I find the lobby and bar area a bit cold, dark in some aeras and not very cozy for after ski drinks.

The conditions were a big luxury for us -- we are used to the cold and ice of New England, USA.

Plus the showers in the changing room were cold.

A very poor service experience in the Racletterie on our first night, staff in the boot room misplacing our skis and boots, mixed quality of drivers to the slopes (one was excellent, the other drove with one hand whilst using his mobile, impatient, and threw our skis into the boot), no turn down service in the bedrooms (unlike our previous experience), staff unwilling to enforce mask wearing indoors, and a permeating strong stench of cigarette smoke throughout the entire hotel communal seating areas impacted on our ability to relax downstairs.

I tried to call again a few more times, either no answer or someone would answer and would immediately hang up.

We then went back up to our room to have a hot shower and warm up to find that the water in our room wasn't hot either so we had to call reception and they organised a work man to come up.

It seems that the system cannot cope with the  number of connections.

but understandable is the internet for the hotel is slow but didn't even use it that often.

The bad:
Even in a Superiour room there is only shower over tub, not quite 5*
Spotty wifi throghout the hotel.

At this stage i got very upset and realised we must be the only ones staying in the hotel and they obviously aren't running it at full speed and felt very upset at the fact that they had accepted our booking!

Via "Small Luxury Hotels" network we selected the La Pleta Hotel & Spa in the montains, not too far away from our route.

The breakfast is possibly the best hotel breakfast we have ever experienced - perfect for a day on the slopes.

The choice for breakfast is unbelievable - every type of food imaginable and the quality superb.

The restaurants at the hotel are delicious and the breakfast buffet is the best.

Besides what you can expect in this hotel class, following deserves an extra mention:
-	Royal breakfast buffet, among the best ever in my experience
-	Perfect ski service: lockers under the Baqueira cable car next to the hotel = zero ski dragging
-	Great care
Take note that the beautiful Spa is not free, and children must be at least 16 to access.

Service is fast and good, breakfast is magnificent.

Breakfast in the morning is first class, huge variety and the fresh fruit juice bar is a highlight.

The breakfast buffet is as good as it gets - 10 out of 10 - and food in the brasserie is of similar high standard.

Simple touches make the difference and you got plenty of them in this hotel like the small cakes and cookies they leave every afternoon in the bedroom from when you return from the slopes or the cereal bars they leave at your disposal in the ski lockers in the morning.

The breakfast buffet was one of the most amazing we've ever seen.

Few things which make me give 4 out of 5 are: swimming pool paid access (40€ if I’m not wrong,

but expensive - 18 euros for some hummous and a few tortilla chips .

The hotel is in god conditon, anyhow the abcence of flexibility by the staff, and the fact that you have to pay 40 Euros per person every time you want to use the sauna/spa is a no good for a five star hotel.

Noisy rooms, breakfast area in a dark area without any mountain view and day light ( no view at all ), expensive

but you should get a coupon to use it twice if you stay a week for example or very less expensive like 15€.

however, quality is not cheap, when provided. 🙏🤗

Staying for 4 nights , we checked out the restaurants , long story short , very over priced , poor food quality and not creativity you would expect from a fine Hotel.

The only negative comment are going to Spa Service that is not included, we need to pay extra to use the spa, pool and sauna, and that is not comprehensive for a 5 star hotel.

Having bitten the bullet and paid I can only say that I understand why they charge the quality and variety of sensations on the spa was up with anything I have seen before,

The first night we had dinner at La Fondue and it is a perfect disappointment both food, meat of very low quality, too small portions and expensive

but expensive - you do better to eat out in Arties / Salardu if you have a car, or in Baqueira if not.

I tried to negotiate an all up price for our stay

Dinner is pedestrian and the prices - particularly in the fondue restaurant - are gougingly expensive relative to quality or quantity.

but price level in general too high and some noiring issues like € 16 pizza (similar as frozen from supermarket with € 2), spa cost extra € 27 and kids under 16 years have to go to kids Club small pool to swim and eg food quality not always high (fish partly raw) why 5 star hotel questionable.

So in conclusion I felt most of the weekend bad, first of all because I had the impression that the smoke-smelling room was the result of my “cleverness” to pay less, then I felt bad because I don’t speak Spanish and last

My husband on the other hand would complain about the lack of air conditioning.

However, the room furniture is worn out and defective, the food is common

We struggled a bit with the size of our room, and no aircon.

Our only major whinge was the lack of Air Conditioning (AC).

but only one had warm water
Noise: a lot of noises from the hallway, cracking noises from the bed

Air conditioning: no!

The only disappointment was that the swimming pool in the hotel was FREEZING!

Although a heater goes from floor to low roof, there is no air-conditioning in the rooms and it was HOT!

This hotel is stuck in a 1970 time warp,with dark dingy decoration and furnishings.the rooms are very dark and small with uncomfortable beds,and no air conditioning.The pool area is not at all appealing and need to be cleaned.at best the food was not good.This hotel is all that is wrong with Spanish paradors

but presumably is heating during the winter ski season .

I am not a great fan of pristine mountain areas being invaded by the skiing industry and so have mixed feeling about the Aran Valley.

It seems to suffer from a lack of effective management.

We had dinner and an excellent breakfast in the cosy breakfast room were all was perfectly COVID proof organised.

Not easiest place to get to from north east of Scotland.But once we arrived the long day  traveling was forgotten.Room was fantastic Breakfast could not be faulted.The Wedding was fantastic Never Eaten so Much lovely food in one day..The staff  were so Friendly and Professional through the whole  Hotel Big THANKS To Management & Staff for making it such a Lovely time for our stay

As to the hotel itself, the room is fine, and the breakfast was excellent.

Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast and ate well in the restaurant .

It runs about €100 for the room and €60 for breakfast and dinner for two.

By the following afternoon the area around the pool side had still not been cleared of the debris from the wedding and we had to pick our way through discarded paper plates and napkins.

They'll have a lot of work to do to get all those years of cigarette smoke out of the upholstry and carpet LOL.

Flashing red lights on all smoke alarms in the bedrooms keep you awake, very soft beds and walls are paper thin.

Instead we were offered dinner in a kind of cafeteria (where people could smoke).

Luckily there was a salad buffet and bread.

The breakfast was very complete and the bedroom had all the amenities and was very clean.

As with most buffets quantity over quality usually rules, however the Tryp had made a huge effort with the food and it was not bad (I am very fussy)

Stayed here for 8 nights in July with friends whilst touring the Pyrenees on motorcycles, let me start by saying it’s one of few hotels in Vielha that has air conditioning in the rooms which in the hot July weather (30°C+) is very nice to have, the breakfasts here are excellent and a huge buffet style affair of hot and cold food, fruit and juices and nice pastries that will set you up for the day.

The hotel offers an excellent buffet breakfast & dinner with a great plentiful selection of food, The hotel would also provide packed lunches should you wish.

We went here family of four, very friendly and helpful english speaking reception, ski rental shop direct in hotel, rooms clean and nice breakfast buffet.

but all in all it would have been a good stay except for a bad night's sleep.

but it would occasionally smell, we found out that many of the guests chose to ignore the no smoking policy and would smoke in the bathroom which would then get in the AC system so when we woke up we often had sore eyes as nobody in the party smoked.

The air conditioning never did work and we ended up having to open the windows and did not get a very good night sleep because there was a festival in the parking lot beside the hotel that lasted well into the night.

breakfast just as bad with old eggs and bacon lying out and the same solo waiter flicking the debris off the tables.

Upon arrival to the strictly no smoking hotel we had to change rooms as the first one we were given had a very strong smell of smoke.

My brother had to move room due to an overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke: not pleasant.

We had to keep the window wide open in order to be comfortable.

but they didn't do it while we were there & we had to sleep for 2 nights with our windows open on a ski holiday!!

We slept with the window open all night and it was still too hot,

When we advised the hotel receptionist that the air conditioning was not working, we were told that it would take time for the room to get cool and to open the windows in the meantime.
