It's also a perfect place for someone who is physically active and doesn't mind walking up and down as the hotel is on the cliff so steps and longer walking distances between the bungalows, beach bar and the main restaurant can't be avoided.

We first visited Kefalonia 11 yes ago and stayed in Lassi in an apartments self catering.

We stayed in one of the family bungalows and are rooms were spotless, the housekeeping was excellent.

The accommodation (we stayed in sea-view bungalows) is modern and spotlessly clean, with genuinely friendly and attentive maid service daily. The whole reception team (including the gentleman who helped with our luggage when we arrived and left!)

but the bungalow was beautiful spotlessly clean with a great view from the terrace with sun beds our maid Irena was fantastic she kept our room spotless with fresh towels and bedding every day what an angel.

We were lucky enough to stay in one of the bungalows a short distance away from the main hotel.

As well as the hotel there are bungalows to stay in.

The bungalows are much nicer than the main hotel and are all built into the rocks with sea views…

We had a bungalow again and they do not disappoint.

Long way from bungalows to end of hotel grounds if you want to walk into Lassi.

Our bungalow had a sea view, was spacious and spotlessly clean.

The hotel is quite modern and the accommodation consists of either rooms within the main block or small bungalow apartments overlooking the sea and near the swimming pool.

We stayed half board in a bungalow with a sea view.

Our room, a sea view bungalow, was fabulous.

Two staff stood out Tomas at beach bar & Anastasia in Lungomare - they are such a credit to hotel and sure they kept many guests placated!

Getting a sunbed was never an issue and the pool and beach bar have a really chilled feel.

A few shout outs I would like to mention are: 

Theo and Thomas from the beach bar.

We preferred the beach next to the one by the hotel (Makris Gialos) as has a lovely beach bar and more facilities than the one next to the hotel.

You always have staff from the beach bar that brings you your orders to the pool.

Special mention to Thomas working at the beach bar who works his socks off bringing drinks to the private beach and pool area and also the chap taking the bags to and from the guest rooms.

Enjoyed a lovely rest, superb sun beds around the pool, great private beach with access to the sea and what a setting to enjoy drinks/food at the beach bar.

Its best feature is the excellent staff from reception to the restaurant to the beach bar to the cleaners.

The little private beach is lovely, and the beach bar is very good, nice drinks and food.

I would happily give it five stars for the location, the views, hotel design, swimming pool and luxurious sun beds, the breakfast buffet, beach bar, great shower/bathroom, and the standard of the hotel bedrooms.

The swimming pool area is lovely too with the beach bar on the way down to the private beach.

For us there is no greater joy on a hot day to walk from our bungalow to the little private beach, having a crack with the beach bar staff on the way.

The beach remains secluded, private and inviting, the beach bar remains good value.

George in the beach bar was just brilliant.

When we swapped our buffet meal to a restaurant meal one evening that was totally different experience.

There is a range of foods for breakfast and dinner.

The room was lovely and modern, the staff were great and very helpful, the food was good (we were half board) and plentiful.

Well the views here are truly stunning and the walk each day to breakfast and dinner was a feast for the senses

Breakfast in White Room was tasty and relaxing.

The breakfast is buffet and with so much choice for all people.

Well, we ate there every day. We loved the breakfast options (especially the coffee, greek yoghurt, fruit salads and pancakes!)

Main restaurant- breakfast was okay it was what it was.

Breakfast in the hotel consisted of a wide choice of options & was delicious.

-Breakfast had a variety of food, including pancakes for my picky son and great coffee.

The choice for the buffet breakfast was extensive and the breakfast went on until 10:30 which was fab for a lazy morning!

The breakfast had everything you need and you are always greeted with a smile.

A modern, well set out hotel, with al a crate food and an excellent buffet restaurant.

We were B&B and, in our opinion, the choice and quality of the food at breakfast was excellent.

however the restaurant is quieter at night which was ideal for us and the food is absolutely delicious - small selection done well and the desserts are INCREDIBLE!!

The food in the buffet, for both breakfast and evening meal was wonderful.

The food lacked taste and the number of guests made the dining experience very poor, rushed with staff taking one person plate whilst the other person was still eating.

but in the afternoon if you just wanted drinks in the bar area was very poor.

I did manage with my mobility being poor and believe me it’s worth it to be in this paradise.

After reading some poor reviews we were nervous about our holiday

Lassi itself was incredibly quiet and due to the roads we only went out during the day as poor footpaths and no street lights didn't make us feel safe to walk along the road.

The main buffet restaurant was very busy and noisy and the service, in particular the clearing away of plates was very poor.

but the food & beverage experience was remarkably poor in need leadership from a professional.

We thought food was poor, trays nor re filled fast enough and  not enough choice compared to other hotels.

The food at both breakfast and dinner is poor.

It is a large resort on hillside with very poor signs for rooms.

Found her trapped in the door as her paw got stuck poor thing

but nothing we have witnessed or heard of during our total of 20 weeks’ residence can justify the hurtful assessments of the “poor” and terrible” reviews, which frankly seem prompted by a sadly increasing obsession with upgrades and refunds as a right and personal victory rather than an appropriate response to a genuine grievance. Every guest in every hotel is likely to have some personal reservations but these are minor compared with the basic facts: White Rocks has splendid accommodation in an exceptional setting, the staff (all of them!)

Before booking we looked at a few reviews which talked of poor service and staff.

but coffee very poor and was charged for coffee from machine which tasted as bad as the one served.

The service was truly abysmal, we have never encountered such poor service either in the UK or overseas.

The service in the lower bar we found very poor, I waited twenty minutes to be served and had to go to first floor bar to be served.

We chose the White Rocks Hotel after extensive research as it had all our requirements for a peaceful relaxing holiday.

So that gives a bit of a retreat vibe as well.

The island is very calm and relaxed and not too much to see/do, it is more about relaxing and enjoying the lovely scenery and views available.

but are miles better) We will definitely return after our most relaxing and enjoyable week.

We did manage to have a swim in the pool and get a sun lounger early evening.It was exactly the same scenario at the beach attached to the hotel - sun loungers all reserved early.

Great hotel and staff lovely to have the beach so close by .

but eggs cold even after explaining twice

Kefalonia is a beautiful island and we were very fortunate to see turtles playing in Argostoli and one hatch from a nest on the beach and make its way down to the sea.

The bay is heavenly and the turtles were hatching the week we were there .

Lovely location and the small beach wonderful, sea clear and warm and we had fabulous weather too.

The view from the pool area overlooking the bay was brilliant and gives an uniterupted view of the specracular sunsets.

The beach below the hotel has amazing soft sand and is shallow so perfect for the kids and it’s a short walk up the hill to the tavernas.

Good air con, good pool and easy access to beach which included shower, toilets and changing cubicles.

Sun beds well if you want one on the beach 8am no later or they are all gone, round the pool our 1st week if you wasn’t with your bed your towels were removed

A special thank you to Rosie who works on the beach for taking a baby turtle struggling in the daytime out to deeper water.

The lift to the beach from room is 2/3 minutes.

A pleasant beach right next to the hotel with crystal clear water.

Big shout out to the guys on reception, breakfast, Anna and Maria from housekeeping and the lovely lady on the beach looking after the sun beds.

* The sandy beach is one of the best on the island with calm clear water, fish and it gently slopes into the sea.

Staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is lovely and it is in a perfect location right by the beach and plenty of bars and restaurants.

The beach loungers were 7 euros for two although these were popular and often not available after 9 am

We enjoyed the food at breakfast and dinner and it was so lovely to sit outside to eat in the mornings The views from the hotel are superb and it’s set in the most stunning position in a sheltered bay with comfortable loungers around the pool and direct access to a lovely little beach.

Unclean room on arrival, it was cleaned after request

I am vegetarian and breakfast was amazing !

Breakfast great, loved eating outside each morning, staff very good.

We were bed and breakfast so did not have an evening meal in the hotel.

The staff at breakfast are a credit to the hotel, all so friendly and really accommodated us as a family and getting high chairs for the baby and talking to my daughter.

but so much choice for breakfast staff again amazing and very attentive.

Great location and breakfast was lovely sat on the terrace.

Plenty of choice at breakfast & in the evenings a large self service buffet.

The breakfast was quite delicious with plenty of options.

Breakfast buffet was very good with a wide range of choice.

Wide selection of breakfast options, lunch at the beach cafe had loads of Greek dishes, all the ones I tried were great (lemon chicken, stifado, stuffed aubergine).

We were B&B and very happy with breakfast.

Have just spent two weeks here bed and breakfast.

Apart from that, breakfast was good, and plentiful.

Cons:

* Rooms are a little tired with very poor sound proofing.

but the general sound proofing of the rooms is poor quality!

Now the downside;
The food was poor - school dinners at best.

The food really was poor no traditional greek meals all just very bland and standard so we ate out locally for the rest of the week which was much better.

(I’m sorry)

The only time we ate an evening meal was on the first day, the food, clearly been under heat lamps for a long time was of a poor standard, with some of the items being served at breakfast the next day.

Desserts are poor with the same offering every night.

though the quality was still as poor and bland.

The card machine in the beach side restaurant is a dinosaur and I think the poor woman cashier's patience was tried every time she had to operate it.

The only major criticism of the hotel bedrooms as others have stated are the poor curtains and some early morning noise.

The not so good things:  the air conditioning was quite poor  ,  .

When we spoke to reception we were informed it was the phone lines and the bush fires which we found a poor excuse.

but the poor wifi makes it almost impossible to do anything but check the odd email.

Breakfasts are excellent with a huge range from hot to cold and rotation every day. The pool area is a delight and we spent many hours in it and around it lazing away the hours (with a little bit of people watching) - the inflatables policeman made us smile every day when he politely asked folk to take their blow up monsters out of the main pool (the bays are so tranquil that inflatables in the sea pose little or no danger) and the poor chaps 'selected' to be the towel police (no reserving at 6am and clearing off for the morning here!)

but I suppose these days as it is an older hotel then soundproofing is poor and carpets have been put in to help reduce floor noise.

Bathroom was cramped with basic over bath shower and room carpet was in a poor state.

There were lots of bars and restaurants to eat in near to the hotel.

the pool was enjoyable nice and clean with plenty of sun loungers..the food was really nice and a great for vegetarians.friendly staff nothing was too much trouble..

The food was very good with lots of choice.

Food and drink is reasonably priced at the pool bar.

We ate out every evening, as we were on room and breakfast basis.

Hotel is close to all the restaurants and half an hours slow stroll into Argostoli on the main road  or 8 euros in a taxi or 2 euros each on the bus 
We plan on returning next year.

Big shout out to Lambros and Alexandra in the restaurant, attentive, always a welcoming with a cheery smile .

From the front desk, the restaurant and cleaning staff, all show real care and friendliness.

We were always greeted with smiles upon entering the restaurant.

We did raise this with the hotel and asked to swap to a lunchtime meal at the beach cafe.

Food : very good with plenty of selection for meat lovers and vegetarians.

If you’re looking for a place to relax without having to go too far for evening meals, this hotel is perfect.

Taxi to Argostoli between 7-9 euros, local bars and restaurants a few minutes walk.

our room was very nice facing the pool and sea.

My parents stayed in room 420 and we were all extremely happy with the cleanliness and views out to the ocean.

The inland view rooms have a pleasant outlook

I emailed hotel asking for an uninterrupted view and we had an amazing sea view so thank you for that. .

Enjoying breakfast on the terrace with my family, overlooking the sea was the highlight of every day.

but it’s spotlessly clean, the beds are so comfy, the beach is beautiful with lovely warm sea and the staff are the nicest friendliest people ever.

Definitely take a room with sea view which is worth every penny.

The pool/beach bar was cheaper than most close by, and the sea was calm enough to enjoy .

We opted for a mountain view room which was ideal as we popped back for lunch on the balcony some days as it was shaded by then.

but it’s perfectly fine and we were very happy with our room and service, we paid for a sea view and it was well worth the money.

We paid for a garden room with the intention of upgrading to a sea view room,

What a shame because reception staff are lovely, pool is great, and it is fabulous to have a sea view.

One day we had booked a trip that had an early start, so we asked for a packed breakfast to take with us.

The breakfasts were nice, a bit repetitive

Each morning at breakfast time, we were greeted beautifully by both the reception staff and the breakfast staff.

The breakfast area, main bar and reception area are similarly welcoming.

We generally tended to fill up on the buffet breakfast each morning which had plenty of choice.

The Restaurant is by the pool and is sophisticated and elegant, we had one lunch and two dinners and the food was delicious and well presented

Sun beds were plentiful and so nice not to have the morning rush to put towels down.

The breakfasts are plentiful and it was always a pleasure to be met by the staff for a conversation about the day ahead.

Wasps were an issue and really irritating especially at Breakfast.

Typically warm  and friendly Breakfast and cleaning staff. However!

but they did have nice yogurts and fruits.

but was quoted almost 380E for a week, so we walked the 10 minutes to Lassi and got one for 250E..! So to summarise, We would return here and had no real complaints at all and all staff were great, one further thing they had some beautiful cats roaming around which my wife " Borrowed ' ham from breakfast to feed ( along with most guests )

Breakfast was plentiful, with options to try loads of different dishes, (even for picky eaters).

The breakfast was fresh, with multiple choices and set in a gorgeous area of the hotel again kept beautifully clean.

Those opting to have breakfast at the hotel will be greater with a wonderful and varied choice of food with a excellent serving time frame.

The breakfast was plentiful and the staff all very pleasant.

Breakfasts were a choice of traditional Greek, which were excellent, or if you wanted bacon and eggs, you could!

This took the shine off what for us should have been a very pleasant holiday to celebrate my birthday.

Overall an absolutely beautiful holiday, the people of Kefalonia are so welcoming and it’s good if you like quieter places which aren’t heaving with tourists.

We were lucky enough to have our room until 1300 which enabled us to swim and have an extra half day of holiday, and shower before heading off to the airport.

All in all a wonderful, relaxing break and I would certainly recommend this hotel to others.

This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in for a holiday - it is a stylish hotel which describes the service and the buildings.

The staff are extremely polite and helpful and they really go out of there way to ensure you have a wonderful relaxing holiday.

Appalling service ruined our special 10 year anniversary holiday.

Did spend one evening in hotel restaurant which was one of the best meals of our holiday,

Our room was beautiful, we were luckily upgraded and I’m forever thankful for this as it truly made our holiday that even more special.

If you are a couple wanting a relaxing break with a bit of style then I would recommend this hotel.

Just returned from the most relaxed holiday mostly due to the hotel and staff.

We booked this holiday as a treat and for total relaxation having done some serious hiking in the previous few months.

All in all we have returned from what has been the most relaxing holiday we have ever had.

We went for just a day as we spent our holiday across the other side of the island.

My wife and I had a marvellous holiday and fears of any disturbance from the reported nearby hotel construction were quickly put to rest.

The hotel staff were amazing, I can’t thank them enough l, from the food in the restaurant by the pool, the room and the pool setting was exactly what we needed for a nice peaceful holiday.
