There wasn’t any air-conditioning and it was a shame that the tiny window only opened a crack, so with no fan provided it could get a little hot.

My only negative was the temperature of the room, it had no air con only a fan, and the room got hot, i wouldn't want to visit in the summer.

The cost effective hotel is situated a little father out of Amsterdam,

Was really worried about the temperature as I read there's no air con, so was incredibly relieved to find there is a box fan already in the cupboard in each room.

Although the room didn't have any air conditioning, the windows were accessible and wide enough to open to keep it well ventilated.

but the worst hotel no A/C even u pay much money .

but the most surprising point was when we arrived the maids have been turned on the AC for us welcomed us by a cold bear which caused us to get rid of tiredness.

Room ventilation: Air conditioning could not be controlled so staff covered it with a tape

This place is awful, no AC in the rooms,and reception staff are useless.

Almost half of the walls of the room were in fact made of glass and due to the hot weather the room was very warm and there was no A/C.

Just stayed at Hotel Casa during the recent heatwave and after reading reviews, we were dreading the heat in the room without air conditioning!

I felt I was constantly at risk of falling out of bed because the thin mattress topper slipped around easily (we had the unit split into smaller twins.

I wanted to share with you my experiences in the hotel Unfortunately I really did not enjoy the room There is no air conditioning and the windows are locked and there is no air in the room The furniture is very old The mattress falls off the bed and it is not convenient to charge us for parking in the hotel parking

No air conditioning in rooms so roasting all the time .

The only complaint I have is there is no air conditioning and the windows to our room did not open either.

You have to leave a sign on the door before midday if you want housekeeping to visit.

Shower doors - put towels down or water goes all over the floor.

However, the shower doors did not close properly which led to a river on the bathroom floor (hence 4/5 rating).

but front office doesn't know that you are still there and you are OK and the care about you more than your mother so they decide to disturb you anyway by phone if they can't go through door over DND.

We received the room number and for our surprise, the room was already busy by a couple and it was embarrassed to open the door and look two people in your supposed room.

After the second day we found a letter from the reception under our door saying that they have contacted our booker and that the extras were not included so we had to settle our bill as soon as possible!!

but has a door which stops no water so floods the place all the time.

We still received a knock on the door from housekeeping.

Drunk boys shouting at the corridor in the middle of the night, banging doors.

The main reason it was my first room was that the doors in the shower did not seal so I ended up with about 1cm of water on the whole floor of the bathroom floor.

The only downside of our stay was that the shower in our room had a door that did not shut properly and the shower also did not drain very well.

- The room door electronic locker was not able to lock after you get out from the room :)))  
- The main entrance and reception location is currently being changed due construction works.

So I received a letter under the door to see the receptionist.

I was asked to move to another room that was occupied when I opened the door.

The bathroom have strange doors and the water leaks out when you have shower.

however the showers are a little odd and have a gap between the shower doors meaning water easily gets out onto the floor!

My only problem was that the doors of the rooms are not soundproof.

The only thing that is bothering is a bit of noise from the corridor - the door is not sound proof.

Room 250, very large comfortable bed, clean room with a fridge, coffee machine and  a kettle.

The room was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities you’d expect from a good hotel.

Rooms are clean, the decor is modern, the bed super comfortable.

I stayed 5 days, called TWICE to get the room clean and nothing happened.

The rooms were really clean, obviously recently renovated and with great interior design.

The room was spotless, with a queen bed & single, fans, heaters, coffee machime.

The room's cleanliness and attention to detail were also nice, and I will recommend this hotel!

Think Premier Inn in the UK - a very standard clean room and you know what to expect.

I also don’t understand how to operate the air-conditioning and the QR code on the desk to get help is damaged/unreadable.

It was more effective to walk down and wait in line among check-in customers to seek assistance, as there was no central concierge service.

Try no air-conditioning in a room that faces west on another hot European day,

The final room I was given had air con of sorts

but it hardly compensated for the lack of AC.

Thanks also to Justin the Duty Manager whom quickly changed my room to another room due to aircon issue.

But :
- There was no heater in the room despite the outside temperature was 8 degrees.

nevertheless the air conditioning was not working either.

This time I found the room a bit stuffy and there were no amenities like even coffee or tea.

Albeit it winter, the rooms can get a bit stuffy since the windows seal tightly to protect your sleep from the airlines arriving at all hours,

Noisy vent so you really can't have a relaxing bath which is a shame.

Good gym - the ONLY downside was that the heating didn't work in my room (room 1517) (someone had clearly been fiddling with the radiator thermostat) and it was a cold night.

Note we were there in June and there was no air conditioning in the room.

I found this odd as most hotels have air conditioning as standard and I've never had to pay extra.

but adequate, although the room did not have air-con meaning it was like an oven in August.

If you go during the summer book superior room, there's no a/c on the standard room and the window does not open much.

Unless you're in a superior room, there's no a/c, so your either going to be very hot or if you try to sleep with the window open, very noisy due to the planes.

Check out: Just dropped my key card in a glass box and caught the shuttle back to the airport, which again took about 20 minutes.

I still do not have an answer or an invoice with the data.

Charging devices and curling hair was a challenge.

but the machine unexpectedly ejected my card without dispensing any money.

Hi still no invoice from your site - your staff even refused to answer of the mails which I send - this is the worst service I ever had!!!

but I haven't received the invoice 3 weeks after the booking date.

Backing up, I reserved the room weeks in advance noticed that the room was pay on arrival, so I contacted the hotel thrice and was assured that my credit will be charged automatically on the day of arrival (not upon arrival).

Apperently it takes five people (including the manager) to make a simple Key card so we could sleep.

I made reservation via booking.com your reception issue the invoice under the name of Booking.com.

They want to charge 10 euros an hour for early check-in.

The meals in the hotel are expensive (~20-30 euros each) and the take away doesn't accept cash (only credit card).

However hotel claimed this was a mistake and charged me an additional fee for breakfast.

In addition to that, they charged $20 a day for parking.

Got charged double and are now telling me that I will need to wait a month for a refund.

Upon arrival to the hotel I was greeted with the realization that the hotel does not take cash, which was all I had along with a pair of cards that had refused to function properly since I left home.

There was a problem with my credit card and Iara didn't know what options she  have to use it.

But check in time is started at 2:00 so I pay early check in charge.

They reserve 10 euros from your credit card without telling you.

The desk clerk said it is normal for the Hotel to charge the account to make sure it is credible.

but they only pre-authorise a small amount, so you can't charge anything to your room!

Only positive: the room was clean and quiet.

The check in process went smoothly, the staff were really friendly and courteous, and the room was clean and comfortable.

Quality of the rooms is good, clean rooms, nice showers, just what is needed and for a reasonable price.

The bad part is that hotel rooms are small and plainly decorated (think along the lines of the Moxy brand of Marriott Hotels with open closets), small bathrooms and thin towels with slippery modular shower stalls

We Stayed here from 22/11 to 25/11 as a group of 7 friends we can not fault the hotel whatsoever friendly staff clean rooms and great transport links from both the airport and to central , when returning to Amsterdam we will be sure to book again

My room was clean, except for the fact that the bin was full with previous guests' litter.

The rooms and communal areas were spotless and the room had the nicest shower I've ever had in a hostel.

MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam West City

even though the staff spoke perfectly English she was insisting on add car park price to our rate and couldn’t understand when my husband wanted to split the payment in 2 cards.

They charged me one more night by blocking the sum on the card.

I have been charged additional EUR 165+ without using services applicable.

She then informed her colleague checking in early comes with a fee of 20 euros per room and charged us accordingly.

No small refrigerator, beds are hard, no electrical outlet in the bathroom to blow dry hair and no USB outlets to charge your phone.

Combined with the Amsterdam Regional Card we never thought twice about going anywhere.

Called back and spoke to someone else who claimed to be in charge and gave his name as Vincent who was equally unhelpful

In addition to all the hassle of moving rooms, it also turned out that there was apparently an error on my credit card so that the required deposit could not be charged,

Breakfast is a lottery as you need to get a card with the half hour time you can have it , if you get there late you can only get the 7 am or 10 am coupon.

But they felt the need to charge me for an umbrella which I never bought off them.

Note that Dutch taxis charge surge rates during transit strikes; instead of the fixed 45 euros to Schiphol, we paid 72 euros.

Due to a heat wave in Netherlands guests were provided with a spare card to keep a/c turned on when they're away.

But, I also requested a late checkout based on their site in regards to "policies",
which states "Late Check-Out Fee 25.00 € Request upon availability. Check out after 6PM, full night will be charged."

Stayed here on the 17/03/2019, when me and my wife arrived we were advised to pay 11.51 euros for city tax which we did we also purchashed 2 48 hour travel passes for 27 euros, both payment were made with my debit card and pin number entered.

I advised them that all charges were to go to my credit card (which they never were).

We bought a 48 hour public transport card and travelled into Central Amsterdam several times over the course of 3 days.

Was slightly cheaper booking via booking.com, at EUR99, and seemingly I am going to get a $40 credit due to loyalty (time will tell).

Then when we were departing the girl wanted to charge us again for the room when we had paid cash on arrival, Then to top it off once we returned home my friend had noticed that the hotel had taken another large payment out her bank.

However room was clean and tidy, there is an efficient AC unit with the possibility to adjust temperature with almost instant effect.

Room was clean and bathroom stocked with soap, shampoo and showergel.

Rooms are clean, quiet and bed is comfortable.

Good sized clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast choice, a fitness room.

The hotel room is clean and has nice interior.

This Hampton Inn has it all- good clean rooms that are not cramped, have a great breakfast, right next to the Metro and Train station for easy access to the airport and to all city attractions.

although 20 mins to town, new spacious clean room, comfy bed.

As for the hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff and a great breakfast selection.

My criterea for a good hotel is: quite surroundings, clean room, wel conditioned room (warm in cold winters, cool in hot summers).

The room was clean and comfortable, and the shower was hot and had good pressure, so taking a shower after a long day was relaxing.

They had no problem with us checking in after the concert and even stored our bags for us, very clean room and had lots of space, in the morning we had a nice breakfast at the time of our liking.

The hotel is clean and looks ok, our room was small for saying it’s using the name Hilton, only one coffee each provided and the only place to plug in the kettle was in front of a mirror, as you can guess the mirror got steamed up, again not something you would expect for a Hilton.

The bathroom door was made of glass so in a morning when it was light  at 6am it shone through and woke me up.

The bathroom has a frosted glass door with small gaps down the side meaning anyone your staying with is able to see in if they wanted too (toilet is directly behind door).

Greasy hands on the glass door, splashes on the wall and large white spots on the chair.

The hallway had dirty glasses, plates and bottles left around and outside elevator for two days until I asked them to clean.

but opaque glass and during the night if someone went to the bathroom, the light disturbs.

Shame about one staff member I believe works in restaurant area, short with dark hair, glasses and a bad attitude (however a total exception to the rest.)

The bathroom door was made of glass and you could see the other person using the toilet which was a little awkward!

The only thing I would call a negative was that the bathroom door was frosted glass, with gaps around the edge, and no lock, so maybe not the best if you're staying with someone you don't know want to know quite intimately!

There were two dirty glasses on the table in the room that were untouched.

In the middle of the night, if you put on the lights in the bathroom, there is a flood of light that gets into the room because the bathroom door is made of glass.

The bathroom was a tad small, no products or shelf in the shower, the glass door is obviously there to allow light in,

The all glass door to the bathroom let light in to the room if bathroom was used in the night, gaps around the edge of the door meant there was no privacy, this door and shower screen were badly stained, cleanliness was not a priority here.

The walls are very thin and so we could here everything happening in the room next to us, and also the ensuite was blocked off from the main room via a frosted glass door, which had gaps down the side so that when one is lying on the bed they're greeted by views they might not be happy seeing from the bathroom.

We received a key and headed to the room where the Concierge had left us an anniversary card and a glass of champagne each! Amazing.

The problem was that the be thrown was too closet to our bed with a glass door and no lock and no working fan!

although I wasn't keen on the glass door in the bathroom!
