Don’t be put off by the exterior, it’s a lovely little B&B hotel 10 mins walk from the Charing garden centre of Colmar.

The centre of the town is a little walk away (15 minutes).

Also, gauzy curtains did nothing to block out the lights from the parking garage out our window.

The bathroom mirror could use better lighting.

Not only is the room well proofed, the window is amazingly thick, and there's a metal gate that rolls down by motor to block out light and noise.

The latter being so efficient one needs to set the alarm or adjust the blades to allow some light in if not wanting to sleep in!

The wall of the bathroom allows the light to come into the bedroom, what is not good during night.

The receptionist was not very polit and the light of the bathroom comes into the bedroom and  so the partner must awake  !

First of all, parking was very easy and free (car park just in front of the hotel and at the back).

If you need to drive, turn left from the hotel and look for the Rapp Garage near the large park, it's easy and convenient.

Located fifteen minutes walk away from main town, adjacent to railway station, with good car park above and below level.

You can walk through the big parks to the old city if you don't want to take bus.

A short 10 min walk through the park takes you to the main old town and tourist areas.

The sights of Colmar were only a short walk away, and we were able to leave our car safely in your car park.

Even walking back at 10pm in the evening, through the park it felt very safe in this beautiful little town.

It did not matter to us because it was a nice walk across a big park.

Breakfast had a wide variety of food and beverages, with great care given to avoid spreading germs, by making masks and gloves-wearing mandatory around the food area (most of which was pre-packaged for extra security).

We were in one of their privilege rooms so had an espresso machine and free mini-bar(but no beer or spirits).

Breakfast was a highlight with all the food provided of an excellent quality and variety.

Only grumble is lack of privacy with bathroom as it had a sliding glass door that did nothing to muffle any of nature's natural noises when using facilities!

The bathroom door was a sliding door with no lock.

The only aspect I didn’t like was the sliding door to the bathroom which wouldn’t shut closely like a normal door.

It wasn't ideal for toddlers, our son could easily open the sliding glass bathroom door and walk right into the shower.

But the bathroom design is quite strange, which the floor will get wet easily.

Rooms were bit small, & the toilet floor gets wet during shower as it is not enclosed.

There’s no door to block water from shower to the bathroom floor in the shower room, so your bathroom gets messy and wet every time you take a shower.

but screen quite small so floor got a bit wet.

The only negative comment is; the bathroom cabin is half open and after a shower the bathroom gets easily wet and dirty.

This hotel is located right in the center of Colmar and is surrounded by beautiful old houses and a vibrant cultural environment with restaurants and bars.

The hotel is located in two historic buildings just on the edge of the historic centre of Colman.

We stayed in the suites from this excellent hotel in the center of Colmar.

It is located near the old town centre with plenty of restaurants and bars.

The hotel has a fantastic location within easy walk to the centre and the room was nice and quiet with a comfortable enough bed.

Situated in the historic centre of Colmar this property has a lot going for it.

Despite the fact that the hotel is in the historical center that is dominated by narrow houses, rooms/suites are spacious and nicely renovated with excellent mix of modern and traditional design.

The door wouldn't close all the way on it's own.

In fact stairwell down to a small court has no exit door.

To note there was a frosted glass door to the bathroom.

The drawbacks - the communal terrace was the "smoking lounge" for everyone else who had access to it, so we couldn't really enjoy having the door open.

Ask the hotel reception for the access code for the door.

One remark:  Toilette is not in a seprate room where you can close the door.

Some of them, such as mine, have a random step that is placed right in front of the door - you have to become familiar quickly to avoid falling in or out of the room.

We were shown to the elevator door - no offer of help beyond that.

but not last the vast carelessness was diffused since we found the door of a room left open probably by the maid, after a whole day out in the city, and they didn't even change the towels.

We had room 207 which, I think, should come with a warning: You open the door of the room to face a VERY narrow spiral staircase that leads to your cute

We had a very little room with bathroom and shower right next to the bed, divided by a glass door as the space was so limited and the bathroom sink is there in the room just next to the desk with the coffee machine!

This gives the bedroom a cold, clinical look and feel (bedside rugs notwithstanding), with every external sound - footsteps, conversation, doors opening and closing - reverberating around the building and intrusively audible in the bedroom

- Harsh (and, to my eyes, ugly) bedside lights
- Eclectic, largely modern room design, that was anything

I traveled the world for 40 years for National  Geographic, stayed in some palaces and some dives, some luxury hotels, some places with dirty sheets, some with reveling drunks and party goers or screaming children next door, and some where I brought my own hammock or sleeping bag to the far reaches of the Amazon or after hours walk to the nearest road in the earth's remote regions.

I further like the extra door between the bedroom and the bathroom.

We stayed in the studio across the lane which unfortunately meant that wifi was very weak unless you took your device right by the door,

The room met none of our criteria and after the second knock on our door we were not happy.

When we lugged our suitcases up two flights of stairs, we opened the door to our room and were facing a rather small winding staircase to a sort of attic room.

It's in an excellent location next to little Venice and restaurants.

To start, the hotel is in a perfect location - steps from Little Venice with lots of restaurants, wine bars, sites within a 10 min walk.

Town is nice and many place with restaurants.

Close to everything and fantastic restaurants so don’t need the car once there.

The woman running the dining area is exceptionally cheery and helpful, and moves through the dining room at a whirlwind pace clearing tables, refreshing food, etc.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and they're happy to help with restaurant recommendations & reservations (there are lots to choose from).

My expectations for a 4-star hotel is an on site restaurant.

Many restaurants are close by with even Michelin starred ones.

The hotel staff were friendly and arranged a dinner reservation for me while I was sightseeing because a lot of restaurants were closed for Armistice Day.

Good points : perfect location, very clean, quality of breakfast food

Bad points : except a few people naturally and genuinely nice, most of the staff was rude.

You can enjoy a good breakfast at the hotel and the buffet has a good variety of food options.

However, the rooms are quite small--no luggage racks; we had to put the luggage on the small table and the floor; it was quite cramped.

We had booked superior rooms and were surprised that the rooms were small and dark, nothing like what we had seen on the website.

Where do I start - the room was small and very warm, air conditioner barely keep air flowing, the room was facing the busy street so lots of traffic noise all night, they apparently don't know what a wash cloth is.

However for the price 195 euros per night without breakfast and such a tiny room is too much.

While beautifully restored in a modern way, be aware that the rooms are very small making it difficult to comfortably fit your suitcases and still be able to walk freely.

We paid $250/night and got an incredibly small room (#57).

It's charming and quite central, rooms are on the small side and not really freshly renewed.

Our room had tiny bedside lamps that were useless for reading in bed, and it had no desk or functioning table.

The room was small, the bed even smaller, and the noise insulation bad enough so I could hear cars passing on the street cobbles all night long.

The room was small, breakfast was not included which is a surprise because every where else we stayed in our four weeks around Europe included breakfast.

We chose the smallest of their rooms which was small

but upon booking we were booked a small room with a single bed so we had to upgrade to avoid sleeping in same bed, we had the loft suite which was just okay for a "suite", my friend slept in the upstairs room which was just a twin bed so for the price we payed we expected a much bigger room.

We were greeted cheerily by the staff at the reception desk, who offered to hold our luggage until our room was ready while we went out sightseeing.

The hotel is in the excellent location, within a walking distance only to the main sightseeing around the city.

The town center and all sightseeing (all Christmas Markets) and restaurants in the city are within a walking distance.

Would 100% return on route to Italy or back.

Maxim (in particular) at the desk was very helpful with arranging a tour of the "Route du Vin".

We spent one night in Colmar and chose this hotel on the recommendation of friends who were housed there on a bike tour.

Would rate the hotel as one of the best in all aspect that we stayed in on our driving tour with regard to location, price and services.

Colmar is a great base to visit many of the smaller towns along the wine route.

As previous reviews have stated, this hotel is indeed well situated within walking distance to Little Venice, city center, and easy access to the Route du Vin.

They assisted us with everything from wine tour recommendations to restaurant reservations.

So much so, that upon departure, they reprinted driving directions for us through the Black Forest into Germany so that we could take a more picturesque route to our next destination.

If you don't tour the wine route, the wonderful Alsatian wines can be sampled all over town.

.. Where we toured the Rhine valley vineyards and the beautiful picturesque towns on the Route de Vin.

Worth two days visit on a tour of the area.

Right in the heart of the old town so easy sightseeing.

Location-wise, it cannot get better; right on Petite Venice and steps away from all Christmas markets and "sightseeing" locations.

The morning breakfast was good and there was wide variety of things to choose from.

Brasserie--lovely breakfast buffet, dinners were haphazard.

The breakfast buffet was included in our tour package and had meat/protein/egg options as well as croissants/breads/cheeses/yogurt, etc.

We only ate at breakfast - where the food was 3-star at best -

The attached restaurant,  where an excellent  breakfast spread (delicious scrambled eggs, the usual array of cheese, meat, cereals and dried fruits, bread, several different kinds of juice - the only thing missing was capers for the salmon) is served is airy and charming and we would have liked to eat there,

We had the choucroute which was delicious and very filling.

Breakfast was excellent, the room was warm and generally the hotel was very welcoming. An interesting feature was the internal door which was useful when there were some noisy children in the corridor (on one occasion only)

but very friendly with the french guests, food was ok. Breakfast had a good choice and staff were friendly and polite then the waitress from the night before appeared, still very off and busy helping herself to the pastries.

The staff is very nice, the breakfast is excellent and the room was renovated very nicely.
