The walk to the beach is less than 10 minutes with a beach bar there which is not affiliated to the hotel.

The beach was a 5 minute walk from the downstairs pool and the beach was beautiful!

The room was well appointed clean, and quite spacious with a great view of the beach.

There is a boardwalk along the beach and the hotel is about a mile from Lagos.

The beach is a 5 min walk from the downstairs pool.

It’s a lovely location on the beach, about 30 mins walk from Lagos

The nearby beach is easily accessible on wooden walkways.

but absolutely go if you want a relaxing beach vacation with a good nights sleep and a nice big breakfast in the morning.

Slight hitch at the start when we arrived early and had to wait over four hours before our room was ready and two hours before being allowed access to all inclusive.

Location was great, quick ride to town, walk along boardwalk and beach.

If we went back we would probably venture out for lunch at one of the beach bars.

Just watch for the odd bandit, Right on the front and a short walk to the beach.

but every window shows a different view of the spectacular coastline.

We had upgraded our room which was in the central body of the hotel on the 6th floor and which looks out directly over the large ‘adult’ pool and then the beach as described above.

I learned how to make Portuguese egg tarts, bath bombs and macrame 
- easy access to the beach which wasn’t busy at all
- nice warm indoor pool for the days that were a bit chilly for the outdoor pool (especially for our baby)
- solid night time entertainment options - especially the live music performances
- very short drive to the downtown area

We have to give a special shout-out to Carla Conde and her team at the restaurant buffet.

When we arrived at the hotel we were transfixed by the lovely views over the beach.

Also very handy location for the very nice beach which was just across the road.

Hotel located out of town next to the golden sands of the Meia Praia beach.

but is very safe and pleasant along new boardwalks which run along the beach.

Overall we would totally recommend this hotel, service, food, cleanliness were all second to none - not to mention the spa where we had treatments on a couple of occasions.

All 3 pools (2 outdoor, 1 indoor) were really clean and great to cool off.

The room was large, quiet and very clean.

The floors are marble type so easy to keep clean.

So clean, the best food— everything we tried was just incredible.

Rooms are very modern and clean, stunning bathroom, the communal areas are stylish, clean and comfortable, and the pool areas are wonderful - comfy loungers and sparkling pool.

Our room did not disappoint- clean, lovely facilities and an amazing view of the coast.

The hotel is immaculately clean at all times, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and the food was excellent.

Things that made our stay so enjoyable:
- The staff were always kind and accommodating
- Our room was spacious, clean and the air conditioning was on point 
- wifi was great across the entire resort
- food was delicious.

Our room was spacious and beautifully clean.

Hotel is clean, the open plan bathroom makes the rooms really spacious and there are plenty of sunbeds next the main pool.

The hotel is so clean and quiet and the staff all helpful and courteous.

We stayed in a room with a pool view (all inclusive) and use of a Bali bed, this was ideal.

The room itself is nice and the bed is very comfortable, the pool area is lovely

I counted over 160 sunbeds around the main pool.

On arrival we were given a glass of sparkling wine, to take out onto the balcony overlooking the pool and sea, and told by the very kind gentleman on reception ' enjoy the moment '.

The facilities are very good, with one indoor pool and two outdoor pools.

No inconvenience ever the acoustics from the pool are perfect.

Everything was great: food, swimming pools, services, daily activities proposed etc
Even small details like the nice smell in the lobby area made for a super nice experience.

We ate lunch a couple of times in the pool bar which was ok

but who wants a warm pool in 30 degree heat.

but many families seemed to stay on the top pool.

The hotel pool areas and lounge and dining areas are again modern and nicely appointed.

The swimming pools are amazing, we used all pools and whilst they are a bit chilly to start with, they are lovely for a swim and often not crowded.

we reserved a pool side room and the balcony doesn’t even connect to the pool.

There are lots of activities if one seeks such around the pool and also on the terrace via the dedicated entertainments team.

The fitness room is very poor with limited equipment some of which was broken.

it was off putting 
Complimentary cocktail of the day was a nice addition around 3pm most days ,as was the towels, which you could change, as often as you liked
Food -Can only describe as COLD & poor quality , even when you went in early, my hubby loves his fish,he dare not at it, as it was tepid at most,i decided to eat off the grill ,to get it hotter,all the meat served were tiny tiny lamb chops( looked like they came from a sparrow) flash fried steak,salmon that was rock hard couldnt even shred it !

The food situation is very very poor:
For All Inclusive there was no food available for my 3 children for 3 1/2 hours everyday- if you want your children to eat then you have to argue with someone every time.

Again the food offering was poor … most notably the chicken goujons … processed beyond recognition … possibly 5%chicken or so it seemed.

Suffice to say the food remained poor for the rest of the holiday.

Paper napkins, no table lights, poor atmosphere.

The variety of cocktails is very poor (for the level of 5star) and some of the waiters were exceptionally unprofessional.

A pretty below average experience - and I include in this that the COVID measures (including information about them) are no more than poor.

however the service was poor - the check in was at 2pm and we were only able to get in our room at 4pm and the service in the bars was disappointing as well.

We also cannot believe how cheap this is priced for a 5 star compared to other places in the world such as France or Switzerland where their accommodations are either severely poor and run down or so expensive you need to be royalty to stay there!

carpets in cirridors are really worn and old looking with stains and sun loungers are in a very poor state, most of them ripped, also it was August and the lower pool was freezing!

The food is below par, the lawns were not cut whilst we were there and it was long and full of dandelions, the carpeting requires replacement and the bar/terrace furniture is in poor condition.

Looked bored, uninterested and the quality of the drinks were poor.

- the culinarium experience was very very poor.

Apart from the drinks, we deposited the contents in the Reps room so they could see first hand the poor quality.

One poor couple ended up in the garage as they’d been directed to the wrong lift to find their room on floor 1!!

The gym for the size of the hotel is rubbish, there are 2 cross training machines, 1 bike, 1 running machine, 4 different fixed resistance machines, a poor selection of weights and 1 bench.

These cost around €5 and found it was quicker and cheaper to ask them to drop you at the Marina.

but we had lunch by the pool snack bar and I agree with other reviews - was overpriced for the quality of the food.

Areas to make it even better: 

Lunch in the snack bar by the pool is very expensive for the quality, €17 a salad or pizza I felt was too much.

Like the breakfast the evening meal was a buffet and equally disappointing and expensive for what is offered.

That was frustrating as didn’t want to pay for a drink of anything when we had paid a lot of money anyway.

Given the high price of the room in August I consider completely inadmissible such bad cleaning.

however main courses were very disappointing making the buffet offering way over priced.

We woke up late on the day of checking out and thankfully we could extend our room until 6pm for €65 which I dont think it expensive.

( and more expensive)
I’m a big fan of Iberostar so a bit disappointed here

No valet at front entry, you can open air park free or you have to pay for garage parking.

Then he said, "this is what's going to happen. You're going to pay this bill and I don't care what your phone says."

Hence I never got to find out prices of drinks, there was no printed drinks menu.

And unless you keep tabs on what you have spent I reckon most people pay up no questions asked.

{death and destruction}  As the "entertainment" in the evening was almost non-existent, the hotel being quite isolated it was early to bed with a good book.most nights There was a shuttle service.But the mini bus only seating for 8 passengers, and you had to pay 2 euros 50 to go to the nearest town, Lagos.

This hotel is perfect in almost every way except for the location -it’s a long way from the centre of Lagos and it costs 2 euros each to go in the courtesy bus which only holds 8 people.

You pay €2 each way and can be dropped off at the Marina or the town.

Little things like having to pay for coffee machine pods after day 1 let the hotel down.

So for a family of four we had to pay 650/night which is not at all worth the space.

We spent two weeks half board and the restaurant food was very good

The staff were very attentive and friendly in the restaurants,

but the food we saw looked average, breakfast buffet was very standard.

We did bed and breakfast and wow..what a breakfast selection there was and all very tasty!

The staff even remembered us from last year from Anna on reception to all the restaurant staff.

The dress code in the restaurant was relaxed within reason.

Food was lovely, with always a different selection of food.

We ate at the dinner buffet twice, and whilst good, the local cuisine in Portuguese restaurants is great so we preferred to eat out.

You can enjoy fresh and freshly cooked fish for half the cost of a meal at the hotel.

Breakfast was huge and very tasty with just about anything you can think of.. only negative point  I would recommend bringing coffee pods for the room this saved me because the coffee is honestly terrible!

We stayed for 10 days on an all inclusive break and thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful hotel
The staff were amazing 
Food was very good and plenty of choice throughout the ten days we were there.

Everyone was very happy with rooms, meeting at the restaurant for breakfast/dinner and relaxing by the pool.

Starters and desserts were good in the buffet

The shower was great and we had a bath freestanding in our room

The bed was quite comfortable, and there was lots of room in the shower.

If I could buy that room as a timeshare I would do.

Note, the bath is in the open plan room so you need to be comfortable with the person you're sharing with if you want a bath.

The rooms are large and open-plan with huge beds.

Thanks to the previous reviews I knew the 6 th floor balconies look onto the rooms pool terrasse

The room with ocean view was amazing - calm, quiet and scenic.

Rooms were clean as well as all the communal areas.

Rooms were spacious and very comfortable.

We got into the room (317) and wow, a beautiful room, open bathroom with his and hers sinks, a huge rainfall shower and a freestanding bath.. massive comfortable bed, mini bar and coffee machine.

The staff are warm and professional and I would like to pay a very special thanks to Sergio and his team Miguel, Joao, Vitor, Kavol, Tatiana and most particularly to Karla. Juan Carlos and Reuben on reception were brilliantly accommodating for any changes when staying an extra night (I didn't want to leave.)

Reception staff were excellent throughout our stay and couldn't do enough to help.

Rita, at the front desk reception was terrific.

extremely polite and courteous, most spoke English, and were eager to assist should you need it.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, they can't do enough.

The staff were all extremely friendly, especially the animation team (Sofia and Catarina) who did the yoga/ stretching classes and activities during the day - jewellery and soap making (devastated we missed the Pastel de Nata cooking class!).

The hotel staff are excellent - bright, helpful and attentive.

The staff is extremely caring and nice, they speak all languages and really cater for all tastes.

The staff all around the kitchen, from front of house, to the waiters to the chefs are always friendly, welcoming and just on top of everything.

All of the staff, waiters, housekeepers were so kind, accommodating and professional.

The staff at breakfast and dinner were really excellent.

From our arrival to the last day the staff at this hotel could not be more welcoming.

From the reception staff all through to the cleaners.

Poolside waiter service was very good - the staff are all lovely and very attentive.

Especially Carla and Juan were always so welcoming at the restaurant.

Some were friendly others need customer service lessons , including just how to smile.

Sabino at the Omelette bar was exceptional in cooking a fiery Indian style spicy omelette to my custom specifications :-) My daughter joined into the act pretty soon.

We ordered food from the bar at lunch time and it was good too, which we ate by the pool daily.

Brilliant hotel, all staff; maids waiters, bar staff reception superb and very friendly.

The Hanging Trail is accessible from the hotel gardens and leads to a wooden boardwalk into Carvoeiro and its many bars, cafes and restaurants.

but friendly staff from the moment you arrive and meet Ricardo on entry , to the reception staff , Ronaldo who manages the bar , the house keepers do a great job  , food is quality , so credit to the chefs ,lovely lady who greets you at breakfast with long brown hair is always so so happy / lovely / friendly and professional , cleanliness is managed to 5* standards and all round first class experience !

Food options were very good, including an expansive breakfast buffet, The One fine dining restaurant, and sushi at the Sky Bar.

Customer service from checking in/departing and at the various bars and restaurants was very good.

Great breakfast, great pool and also bars and restaurants on site if you just prefer to stay in and relax.

We enjoyed every second from the beautiful pool area, to the local hikes along the sea, to the Sky Bar on the roof deck.

I went with my friends to the Sky Bar and all of the drinks were delicious, fresh and fancy.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, we loved the Sky Bar, and the food at The One was good.

The pool bar service was great if you walked over to the bar; a little slower if you waited for someone to come to your chair,

Pleasant helpful staff from the front door to the bar tenders to the waiters on to the housekeepers.

Amazing view from the room and sky bar, staffs are very helpful and friendly, close to Carvoeira town, breakfast has a lot of choices.

The pool bar has music on, so we moved to the lawn further away from the pool to enjoy the views and some quiet.

We were given room 510 on the 5th floor which is actually where the reception of the hotel is located.

This is a great, small resort with an amazing location.

The location was superb and views were stunning.

We also found the location convenient for visiting many other sites in the Algarve.

The location is great just a 10-15 minute walk into town

Centrally located, walkable to Algar Seco, the boardwalk and to great restaurants and the beach, and just a beautiful, safe and lively surroundings.

Very convenient location for hiking the Seven Valleys trail (we did it from Praia Marinha through Benagil caves and all the way to the hotel) and visiting Algarve historical eastern towns - Tavira and Faro and also Silves Castle (a must).

The location is idyllic and the facilities leave nothing to be desired.

The location was perfect with amazing views and easy walkability to restaurants and beaches.

The location is breathtaking and the service was impeccable.

Hotel location is breathtaking so trust me if you visit this hotel you will not be disappointed

Location was perfect - right on the coast with the Seven Hanging Valley trail right outside and a short walk to town with all the restaurants and shopping.

The hotel is perfectly located not too far from town so most people walk, there is also a hotel Tuk Tuk and Uber was plentiful throughout the area.

but the Hotel's location leaves it ideally placed to walk to alternatives.

hotel staff are superb and so is the location.

The location was ideal for walking to the restaurants in nearby Carvoeiro.

A beautiful hotel in a stunning location with brilliant staff and food (oh, and the most comfortable bed!).

The location was just stunning and the balcony was huge with a view of the ocean, cave and pool.

I believe it is noise mostly from the balcony above, because of poor soundproofing, and may be largely from the maids as it started around 8 AM, so it would only be a problem if you want to sleep latter.

)Very poor hygeine measures in the gym with no sense anyone is in charge of this area.

Cocktails differed, and some were good, some not so,

Dinner was a poor show.

Location of the acyual hotel on the cliffs was beautiful
Evening buffet at €37pp was poor value - show cooking was "burgers" - in a 5 start hotel - really? Pool was very small relative for the size of the hotel, luckily we were outside of the school holidays

- note that the internal courtyard adjacent to the indoor pool shows the building to be in a poor state of repair compared to the external facade which of course looks great.

I keep telling myself it was just poor timing on our part.

On top of being clearly not a service-oriented hotel, neither designed nor furnished with what one would expect from a 5 star hotel, the service is really poor at the bars.

but we had one poor day of rain when we just went out and about in our hired car.

Finally, one poor young lady was hit by a broken sun umbrella that was caught by a gust of wind and hit her in the shoulder.

Also worth noting that the internet connection is very poor I could not get any signal in my room on my tablet and on my MacBook I had speeds of 0-1 mb/s this was basically unusable, it was the same in the lobby, rooftop bar and restaurant overall poor signal + slow speeds.

The service I found a little poor and nearly every staff member I spoke to had an issue with understand English.

The only downside this year was the poor service in the Sky Bar, cocktails were mixed up on the order and an alcohol one served to my underage son instead of a virgin mocktail.

Road bump:  Access to the private beach is poor and dangerous.

6) The pool is circular I wasn’t a fan because I like relaxing on the pool edge and it wasn’t really comfortable to do this also I like swimming lengths and that was not possible - water was cold also
The indoor pool was boring - again super cold water and very shallow - the jacuzzi was the same cold water and poor water jets.

but food hygiene was poor with guests hands touching the meat when cutting.

I heard other guests complaining to the staff of similar issues with smelly rooms and poor a/c over the next couple of days.

Dirty brown water in taps, cold dank rooms, poor evening meals, often cold and poor quality, There is no information in the Hotel re attractions to visit in the area, no  bus info or time tables/prices..The pool is good if cold, and we noticed most of the pool recliners had been pre-booked by towels being laid out, we could not find a space there when we went down, So i did the obvious, threw 2 towels off 2 recliners and used the umbrella.

The only disappointing thing was the hash browns, they were the cheapest kind of pre frozen hashbrowns that were terrible, not even slightly crispy, just tased like cardboard.

We ate in the hotel at lunch.These we’re very good in quality and for value.We also had 5 dinners at the One restaurant.Excellent in all aspects.we did not feel they were expensive in comparison to similar restaurants in the world.

Not the cheapest Hotel on the Algarve I'm sure;

When you are required to pay upon arrival, there is no skin in the game for the hotel.

We can't advise thus hotel as expensive 


The rooms are the same, so the extra cost is for the view.

Tiles are falling off the pool 
(floor of pool and wall of the pool) for a hotel of this cost I would expect the pool to be maintained a bit better.

Some things like occasional quality of service and needing to pay for cabana beds (which were only rarely used as a result).

The pool restraunt,Mare, was overpriced and service was incredibly slow.

This hotel is overpriced for the service and is not in our view 5 star.

I visited in January '23, when it's the low season,  and the price was a little over $100 a night.

Would normally rate a 5 if not for the last night.

The full sea-view rooms overlook the pool directly and it's not a view I'd want or pay for.

And I paid for it, I paid $50 euros to see a wedding.

Buffet dinner probably not worth the money and would suggest walking down to carvoeiro instead for better quality food at lower prices.

but I think it was overpriced for the quality of the food.

Little things like not water provided except you pay €3 for a small bottle from the mini bar, and the receipt lion staff this morning providing no help with our 7 bags this morning.

but there were 2 things that I disliked intenseely, the first I decided to book half board at a cost of 35 euros per person for dinner.

We stayed in early 2022 and left some property there which we asked to be returned to us in the UK (at our expense).

The food was divine, so well cooked and the presentation was superb.

but the views from the restaurant on the 5th floor are great too.

but it stopped by 10 PM and we were usually out for dinner during that time.
