The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant serves lunches and dinners which were also very good.

The hotel had the customary Austrian traits of quilts on the beds (these can be a bit difficult to manage for temperature) and subdued lighting.

Very hot in August, no air, so I had to sleep with the windows open.

There is no laundry service over the weekend and no laundromats open in the town (in fact, all the shops seem to close Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday).

The night-watchman gave us a new key card at 4 in the morning as ours did not open the door.

We woke up to the fog gently lifting off the Lake and watched the swans sailing along.

There seemed to be quite a lot of happenings in the market square which might be disturbing if you want to go sleeping early.

They offer a decent breakfast for which the asset is that eggs in different styles are freshly made and served to the table.

The quality and variety of the breakfast were excellent.

Breakfast was very good and replenished all the time.

The breakfast was as you would expect with loads of hams, cheeses and bread as well as yoghurt and cereals.

So kind of him. The room was spotlessly clean and had a deck looking out to the stunning Traunsee, a scrumptious breakfast in the morning with just about anything you can imagine in an Austrian breakfast (almost wiped out the smoked salmon!)

I recommend this hotel because of its beautiful view from a room terrace, satisfying breakfast and styled wooden decoration.

even though it was late evening already, so we could get some sleep (otherwise it wouldn't be possible at all).

Firstly, we were shocked by the air temperature in the room - there was definitely some heating malfunction - the room was like sauna.

We had wonderful experience even prior check in just to query on the location and parking, then during check in is warly welcomed by Laura , special arrangement for meal since the staff knew we were fasting and made us early food arrangement prior breakfast and perfect location to go about.

but to get to it one either has to take a steep staircase with a handrail from the parking area, or enter from the front of the hotel on Traungasse and go up a few steps without a handrail, but with a wall one can lean on to support oneself).

The last night, he finally told us after a week of dirty looks and passive aggressiveness that he doesn't like us drinking in the reception area because there is a bar and a restaurant. a.

though some areas could do with a bit of updating or redecorating, the overall impression is a very good one and the staff seems to be permantly around to make your stay as nice as possible.

There are thousands of things to do in the area, (my favorite being the salt mines in Bad Ishel).

Although catering for a group of 27 people they provided good meals with a local flavour including continental breakfasts and 3 course evening dinners.

Room was with a balcony so good views .breakfast buffet style so help yourself there is a place to sit down stairs in the bar and is in walking distance of the town excellent stay 😀

One bad point is that there is NO lift, so prepare yourself for the stairs.

My main concern was that there was no lounge or bar area at the hotel and as soon as dinner was finished around 8.30 pm everything closed down.

Unfortunately, they do not have a lounge as most of the available ground floor space is used for dining.

The hotel is situated up a steep hill and there are no other bars, restaurants or shops within walking range, that is if they were open, as it was very quiet being Christmas.

We have noticed only one bigger failure - the WLAN range was really weak.

We arrived around 7pm and the key was handed over with no information.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, the food was great, particularly the breakfasts and the location was pretty stunning  in terms of views.

but it was a bit of a climb to get from the R2 cycle path up to the hotel so we weren't keen to go back down and up the hill after riding all day.

This June we´ve finished first part of our journey at URZ´ns - and it was excellent since our arrival, accomodation, splendid landscape views, delicious good dinner, drinks till the breakfast in the morning.

Not possible to order scrambled eggs on breakfast,

No "real" reception - you take the key from the restaurant - would be ok, if the owner sends that info before the arrival.

Since the place is old and no-one is at the reception desk the light in the hall in the evening should be automatically on (otherwisne it's a bit creepy before you reach a light switch).

Shower gel/shampoo, hair dryer, towels in the price.
