But what was very special were the gatherings with our friends and his family and friends in the bar / restaurant of the Schwann.

The room was large and modern with flat screen t v, work desk and mini bar.

We had a view to the lake, flat screen tv, and a full mini bar.

The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant serves lunches and dinners which were also very good.

Reception with helpful stuff and breakfast ok. Good to ask for room with position to lake.

The Breakfast was good with plenty of cereals, breads, meats and cheeses, as well as a limited selection of hot food.

The breakfast buffet is excellent and generous, seating is in a traditional Austrian dining room with unforgettable views to the lake and to the plaza with the old town hall (with spire and carillon) and the boat jetty.

We had breakfasts in the hotel, they were excellent and had dinner once which was above my expectations.

Staff was helpful, breakfast (included) was very good, the location second to none and it was great to sit by the lake at night.

Dinner (outside and near the lake) was average at best, breakfast below average (not much choice of bread, and they close a lot earlier than advertised), and the staff at the restaurant/breakfast area was not very friendly, the staff at reception, on the other hand, was nice and helpful.

however breakfast was excellent and was included in the price.

The buffet breakfast was also very good and sitting outside with a drink watching the world go by was most pleasant.

the door to the balcony can't close up completely, and I can see nests of spraders in my  room 

lastly, the sound proof is poor.

But, when I opened the door to our room, I was amazed.

The night-watchman gave us a new key card at 4 in the morning as ours did not open the door.

The staff can answer most questions about what to see, if they can't they will direct you to the visitor information office directly across the square.

When we first arrived and I was walking through the corridor to the rooms, I thought these room doors look like commercial refrigerator doors.

The only problem we had was with a light fixture that has a sensor and will come on when a movement is detected, which means that at night the light comes on and wake up any body which is asleep if any other person walks by the light (on the way to the bathroom, minibar, etc.

Very hot in August, no air, so I had to sleep with the windows open.

We woke up to the fog gently lifting off the Lake and watched the swans sailing along.

There seemed to be quite a lot of happenings in the market square which might be disturbing if you want to go sleeping early.

We chose our hotel carefully to be on a lake, near a railway station, with good Trip Advisor reviews, and outside the heavily visited tourist areas.

They offer a decent breakfast for which the asset is that eggs in different styles are freshly made and served to the table.

The quality and variety of the breakfast were excellent.

Breakfast was very good and replenished all the time.

The breakfast was as you would expect with loads of hams, cheeses and bread as well as yoghurt and cereals.

Room was beautiful, cozy, smell so good, beds very comfortable, breakfast very tasty and delicious.

The frühstück (breakfast) was amazing and served until late in the morning.

So kind of him. The room was spotlessly clean and had a deck looking out to the stunning Traunsee, a scrumptious breakfast in the morning with just about anything you can imagine in an Austrian breakfast (almost wiped out the smoked salmon!)

The view of the lake at breakfast is breathtaking.

I recommend this hotel because of its beautiful view from a room terrace, satisfying breakfast and styled wooden decoration.

We arrived on 4 motorcycles and there is plenty of free parking.

We also liked that enough parking facilities were available.

Super position, free parking, free bikes, very big rooms and apartments with balcony, super if you are smoker, apartment with kitchen, very clean, beautyfull view on the lake, staff was super, everything was perfect and will recomended it to everyone.

The staff are excellent, speak very good English, have a great sense of humour, and booked us a table at a restaurant they recommended as the hotel restaurant was not open.

Garden is a small piece of paradise, rooms are spacious, beds are confy, breakfast is delicious bathrooms are modern and large, The restaurant is cosy and stylish, food is great, etc.

we wanted to celebrate our national holiday with the national dish, and the hotel owners very nicely provided us the hotels kitchen for our absolute disposal to cook it!

This is a very modern, recently built hotel that has that traditional family run hotel vibe that Austria is famous for.

The rooms were enormous and so well positioned over the garden, with incredible large and efficient modern bathrooms en suite.

The swimming pool, sauna, and turkish bath are all modern and exceptionally equipped.

We had wonderful experience even prior check in just to query on the location and parking, then during check in is warly welcomed by Laura , special arrangement for meal since the staff knew we were fasting and made us early food arrangement prior breakfast and perfect location to go about.

The breakfast was also excellent, everything was delicious and fresh.

Another thing we wanted to mention are wasps at the breakfast.

We visited for a long weekend and appreciated the very friendly and helpful staff; the breakfast was very good with a large selection of cold cuts, fresh cheeses, and the like.

Thankfully a little down the road we found a spot to stay at the “ Seegasthof hotel Hois’n Wirt” where we had a very nice meal, good room, amazing lake views, and such nice staff.

The views are incredible towards the mountains and the lake.

The view is stunning, the rooms are gorgeous and the hosts are super friendly and made us feel very welcome!

However we are clearly not the only guests who like privacy in the loo – and a curtain is thoughtfully provided!

though needs improvement; when we checked-in the shampoo bottle was almost empty.

We never noticed before how important the service is, because if it was just the amenities the hotel would definitely get a 4.5 stars.

The guest rooms (I stayed in the extended part of the hotel) are drab and old fashioned, they also lacked facilities (apparently it is not usual in Austria to supply soap, shower gel shampoo etc,

For those who want cosy there is an adjacent Stube where delicious home-made snacks are served to half board guests over Christmas.

To sum up, will definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers but service needs to buck up.

However overall we did not feel welcome at all and is not a place we would like to return to, which is a shame.

The only down side I found in this hotel is that the quality of the breakfast was low, variety was very limited and has an old feeling not fresh and welcoming , management should take steps to improve this matter.

but compared to what the a la carte guests were getting well I feel I got a poor choice of food.

My favourite fruit – the mango – was at peak ripeness every day.

There was a plate of fruit and cookies in the room which was a nice touch.

If not fixed, some points would risk putting the 4 star into question as per EU rating system.

If the same attention to detail evident in the menu and food preparation were applied to the service and everyday upkeep, then the hotel could easily increase its rating.

but would not be by UK standards, probably 2 or 3 would be a fairer rating.

The resort also had a spa facilty for pampering yourself.

The restaurant overlooked the beautiful lake scenery, and offered spectacular food.

Our room had the loveliest balcony overlooking the lake and the nearby mountains.

The room was beautiful with a terrasse overseeing the lake and in the morning before breakfast, we jumped right into the cool lake from the hotel bridge for a fresh morning swim, watching the sunrise over the mountains.

There is a lot going for this hotel, the location near the lake is beautiful and each of the rooms have a direct view of the lake.

Try the ebike Mountainbikes and her up a Mountain.

There is a small tourist information centre opposite the hotel and a bar at a hotel down the road.

The dining room is run with usually just one waiter who also works the bar, so getting meals out is done without ceremony and if you haven't finished your previous course then the next will be put in front of you in any case!

There is a nice garden bar where we ate out in one night when we had a barbeque.

There were 2 choices for dinner which we chose at breakfast.

We foung it plentiful very tasty, and plenty of variety.

The Hotel is picturesque and staff very friendly shame that the food is not fresh everything seems to come out of a packet.The signature thing about dinner is the very neatly cut half a roll allowance.I assume this is all done to cut cost for the tour operator which is sad as we enjoyed the holiday

With around 40 in our party and other guests too the poor lad was rushed off his feet.

Evening menu was extremely poor; First course was soup with HALF of a small bread roll per person;  main course was a choice of two options which was of inferior quality, poorly prepared and served with tinned vegetables.

The staff were without exception friendly and welcoming, the food was good, the rooms were spotless and the bed comfortable.

Rooms comfortable and clean with excellent views across the Lake, which is only about 100 metres away.

Some passengers commented that rooms did not appear well cleaned when they returned each day.

I had a single room which was quite large and had a balcony.

The prices for these rooms on B&B basis is a steal so definitely worth the visit.

The facilities in the room were of an appropriate standard for a gasthof

If you get a chance, ask for room 38 - a one bedroom suite, the best room in the hotel.
