highly recommended this hotel its ski in ski out .. right on the ski bus stop for the Alpach area.

I was on a skiing holiday and it is worth mentioning that the free ski bus stop is right outside the hotel giving direct access to Aufach and the connected Ski Jewel area

Not to far from the town to walk either during the day or the night and a bus stop right outside.

The bus stop is right outside the hotel which is a bonus to get to the main area.

The T bar M5 is just down across the road from the hotel, or the bus stop outside the hotel can take you to the main cable car, M1, just one stop away.

Just come back from a week in this hotel, The hotel comes in at a very reasonably price and is very convenient location right opposite ski slopes and next to a bus stop which is free to use to take you further afield The staff are very hard working and Herbert the owner is very amiable.

I stayed here with my partner 12th -19th Jan. Positives are great location - couldn't be better as far as we were concerned, right opposite the 2 drag lifts that connected you with the  rest of Niederau's lift system and a bus stop right outside which took you to Auffach for a great variety of skiing.

Hotel location excellent for ski lifts, nursery slopes, ski school meeting point, bus stop right outside.

Bus stops right outside the hotel and we skied to and from most days - blue runs and 2 lifts into the village, red and blues home.

but the bus stops right outside the hotel and the Wildschonau card gives you free access to the cable cars, outdoor swimming pool up the road (fantastic for kids) and other good deals, if you are staying in the hotel you should be entitled to one and they are awesome.

The hotel is in a peaceful position about 5 minutes walk from the lovely village of Niederau where there are two supermarkets, shops, a beautiful church and the town bandstand where we went both weeks to hear their excellent local band.The local buses stop outside the hotel.

Poor Herbert, he is too controlling agree with that, but his wife died only a few weeks back when we were there in feb.

as it was first bus stop and meant you could get on and seated.

Position opposite the slope is great and a bus stop is a few yards down the road.

Can ski to gondola by crossing road in front of hotel and getting T bar lift up, then skiing down to gondola (worth noting as the walk down is a trek with your gear), alternatively free ski bus stops right outside frequently.

There are 2 ski lifts opposite the hotel and the ski bus stops right outside.

The location is perfect, first stop for the bus to Auffach so you get a seat every time.

Room was clean and comfy, with nice balcony.

The room looked fresh and clean and had probably been decorated recently.

The hotel and room were spotless, you get a summer card for the resort that allows use of the ski access lifts and some other discounts.

The hotel also has excellenf facilities - lovely rooms, comfy beds, gorgeous pool and sun terrace and everywhere is immaculate. As someone with very severe food allergies, I was worried about eating abroad

Room warm, comfortable & clean with balcony & wonderful view of beginner slopes.

Apart from that it was reasonably priced, comfortable, warm, clean, all the staff pleasant and good location.

The rooms were clean and towels changed daily.

My single room (103) was spotlessly clean and in the older, more traditional part of the hotel.

Started off really well as our double room was nice, clean, comfy bed and a walk in shower with a balcony over looking the front towards the mountain ski runs and lifts so the views were amazing even in the rain that was falling heavily as we arrived late afternoon to check in.

button lift then up there skiing right which rakes you down to the meeting place for lessons or gondala.

We were fortunate to have very good weather, the Wildschonau pass entitles you to free lifts up the mountain in Neiderau.

Opposite some of the smaller lifts which you can connect to the main gondola  from so minimal effort getting out which was also a big benefit.

Get up early if you want to beat the lift queues - aim for 8.50 or 9.10 bus and it’s much more civilised!

Staying at the hotel Hartenwirt was well situated for buses and lifts making it easy to get about, and your host Herbet was very friendly and for a most pleasent memorable holiday

We arrived late afternoon and after unpacking, arranging our ski hire, lessons for the beginners and lift passes we had a drink in the bar.

Ski lifts are free in summer for walkers and bikers to get up high for many trails, all well marked.

but long queues at lift station  in mid March when local schools descend on the area.

Hotel close to nursery slope (button lift), turn right down to Gondola which takes you up to the runs at Niederau.

- The bathroom was small and congested with poor exhaust.

Towels small and threadbare, no safe in room,poor lighting and the bedframe was very squeaky!!

The food is poor in quality and very basic,  which quite frankly,  insults the Austrian cuisine.

The only down side is that some of the food is not extra the main meals particularly poor some home or fresh produce would not go a miss.

Service in general was poor and unfriendly.

There had been some poor reviews previously on Tripadvisor about this hotel, so we were a little reticent about booking it.

Service is very poor & the owner thinks it's above him to help.

Service is poor and the waiters seemed more interested in providing drinks from the bar than serving meals to the guests.

Never saw such a rude and poor service anywhere.

Wifi poor, only available in the reception area.

but in fact the quality was so poor,  so I will claim that there is no Internet at all.

Was a shame as we got a good deal because the snow was poor.

The resort as a whole needs a high level link from the Niederau area down to Auffach rather than relying on ski busses which are poor frequency midday.

Very poor snow in the resort and the hotel was also very poor.

Food exceeded my expectations, breakfast what you would expect in a small Austrian hotel quite basic not your full English,

and the food is beautiful, with extra care put in so that people with allergies / dietary requirements can always eat the food. The kitchen / bar staff are lovely to talk to (even if your German is rubbish!)

The evening meals were not at all good, and most evenings I left the majority of the meal and ended up having a plate of salad.

Food was good,  with a healthy option every day & very varied with good service.

Food was very good for a skiing holiday, enjoyed our three course evening meal and it always had plenty flavour.

We were on half board basis and the food was extremely poor to the extent that we opted to eat out a couple of evenings.

rooms were spacious and very modern.. the food was brilliant and varied .. bar staff and waiters were friendly and attentive to all our needs .. and the owner Herbert .

Some of the food particularly the salad buffet in the evening looked unappetising and very often ran out if you came down to dinner after 7 PM ( time slot was from 6 to 8).

The evening meal was different every day with a choice of three mains along with a soup, salad and dessert.

The food was good and the service was excellent.

Evening meals were hit and miss~  some lovely and others were quite grim.

The food was good and served by part timers employees

I saw a salad bar & helped myself only to be told told salad bar was for house guest only!

Our room had a reasonable view and balcony.

Tui rate the hotel 4T as the hotel has a new wing with some new upgraded rooms, so you might want to spend some time on room selection when booking.

There was also a sauna, steam room & sunbed area,

Our room was in the old building and had clearly not been updated for many years apart from the bed which was comfortable.

The hotel has its own heated ski/boot room

Rooms were OK.. spacious enough and for the old part I felt they were fine for us.

- We had an uninvited big spider in the room.

The room was comfortable with a private balcony.

Meals were good and we had a nice room with a spectacular view.

This is our 4th visit and each is as good as the last, my wife and I stayed in the new wing whilst our 18 year old daughter stayed in one of the original front balcony rooms (good WIFI there so she loved it).

I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfasts and evening meal, with plenty of variety and goodness after a day skiing.

We stayed at this hotel during a skiing trip to Niederau.

We opted to take the bus to Auffach and from there you can take another cable car  over to Inneralpbach, where the skiing is good.

but larger areas are reachable by bus so you can mix it up. The pool was lovely and sauna/steam room was ideal to relax after a days skiing (just avert your eyes to the naked Austrians if that isn’t your bag haha.)

but you quickly catch yourself on and remember that you are there for the Skiing.

We had a great stay here, just got back from a weeks skiing.

but other reviews suggest she had died, so maybe another family member, both of them were similarly polite and helpful, offering advice about skiing areas.

It was 4 of us staying in this hotel for a week skiing holiday.

Skiing fairly limited in Niederau especially for beginners

Breakfast starts at 8:00 am - too late for fans of morning skiing.

The wellness facilities are excellent with a great pool area to relax after an hard day skiing.

One the second day, three of us were hit with food poisoning as we all had lamb and missed two days of skiing.

Niederau is a good resort for intermediates and beginners, just testing enough with access via bus to some excellent intermediate skiing at Auffach.

Family skiing holiday February 2017 half-term (x 3 people), we stayed in the newest part of the hotel, bedroom was big with 2 beds pushed together to make a Queen size and a single sofa bed (14 yr old said it was very comfortable); lots of wardrobe space; powerful, hot shower; underfloor heating in bathroom; separate toilet; balcony.

There was an abrupt waitress who was only concerned with selling drinks, not welcoming guests.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Harfenwirt is a nice 3 star hotel with helpful friendly staff.

but the kitchen staff are amazing (Thankyou!)

Staff were great, always helpful and pleasant and bar staff were great fun - try the ‘cheeky, cheeky’ schnapps (adults only)!!!!!

Check in at reception was swift and quick with the staff speaking very good English.

The wine waitress was very pleasant and efficient

I even met three who had stayed at this hotel many times previously - a real credit to Herbert, the owner, who is a real character who spent time getting to know us all and even played his harp for us - a memory I will always cherish.

Herbert owner of the hotel was amazing on the Harp so if you hear he is playing at the guest house up the road it's worth a visit.

Overall it felt like these guys have no idea what’s going on in hospitality industry these days.

The Alpine atmosphere and friendly hotel staff really made my holiday this summer.

The bed was exceptionally comfortable and I slept really well all week.

There did not appear to be many staff at evening meal, and when large coach party staying the staff were rushed off their feet,with the manager sat drinking and chatting (he could have assisted).

Hubert was a great host and the swimming pool wonderful.

The staff were exceptional, always quick to look after you and good humoured.

Very pretty, chalet style, lots of flowers on balconies, nice views, quiet.

The view at the top is magnificent, and there are some mountain paths to follow, and you can watch the para gliders launching.

but had a nice large balcony with a nice mountain view.

The hotel is beautifully situated and has good transport links, including a short walk to the gondola which has the most amazing views.

Regrettably at the moment there is a new hotel being built right alongside
this hotel so our view was of a very large crane and building works from 7am in the morning.

My sons had a lovely modern shower at the back of the hotel, we had a lovely view of the piste

Loads of wardrobe space and super views from balcony.

Outside I had a balcony with wonderful views of the mountain and the paragliders from the paragliding school next door.

Plus point it overlooked the slopes and was large,

We were very happy with the room, which was spacious with lovely views, the food, which was traditional Tyrolean and 2 very entertaining musical evenings.

but use the bus, free with ski pass from Niederau to next resort Auffach as you can’t ski from one mountain to another.

There were iPads and phones charging in the hallways. .

My one suggestion would be to provide a safe / secure box in the room for passports, money and gadgets

but not good enough .A  power cut every day we were there.

Honestly for me, staying here was a 5* ski holiday in a small, wonderful  hotel which was great fun to stay in and where we felt part of their family.

We had a great family ski trip hosted by Yana, Nick and the team at the Hotel Staffler.

This is our first time as a family at the Staffler (I have visited previously with some close friends) and it really is a home from home.

Karen didn’t feel like it was her first time visiting the hotel as was made to feel incredibly welcome from the outset and a member of the Staffler family.

Hotel staffler was a great family destination they even provided calpol in the night when our smallest had a temperature.

The hotel is extremely welcoming and friendly, Nick and the team pull out all the stops to ensure all guests have a memorable stay.

From the minute I entered I was bowled over by the friendly, fun staff who simply couldn't do enough for us.

The English owner was the perfect host and great fun and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Just got back from a weeks stay at the hotel staffler this was a very friendly hotel brilliant food and 1st class ski guiding organised to suit singles or larger groups.

Just love this place, staff are always friendly and ready to help.

What a fab place, great bar and atmosphere, with very friendly and helpful staff.

The ski guides were exceptional and made skiing in snowy, poor visibility conditions a joy.

Beers on the sun bathed terrace at the end of the day, themed evenings that will have you laughing all night (and in to the early hours in the cave bar) and food worthy of any establishment with many more stars.

The Evening meals were truly worthy of a Michelin star.

Great skiing in different resorts and amazing food.

Back at the hotel the evening meal is the best I have had in 15 years of ski holidays.

but all of the food was really, really good.

though to the entertaining evening meal and also join in with skiing days out.

Food exceptional, nail game fun except for having lost and buying the drinks .

We particularly enjoyed the excellent daily guiding and the mountain restaurant stops, cleverly organised so that all groups met for lunch, which worked well for us.

Topping off the day with some Apres Ski and then back to the Staffler for a quick shower shave, to be treated to our host Nicks updates of life tomorrow’s activities and then our food always top notch.

Great and I mean really great food from the kitchen crew headed by chef Jamie.

Regardless of the weather their guiding team of Beth, Robin and Gaston will seek out the best runs and the best restaurants for lunch. Spectacular!

The food is amazing - the atmosphere of the dinner time meal is unique and wonderful and the bar is always a fun-packed evening.

No need to consult the piste map, they know the best runs & of course the best coffee stops & restaurants for lunch.

From the hotel, restaurant and bar team to the bus drivers and guides taking us to the best slopes, creating an amazing atmosphere and experience for each and every guest.

By the way, the food at the Staffler Hotel is fabulous too!

The ski guiding is superb and allows you to see so much more than if you went out alone, along with some great traditional lunch restaurants - the ability to go in different groups dependant on skiing ability, really helped our party.

The food was excellent and the team were able to cater for one of our "fussy" eaters without any hesitation!!

Consistently tasty food well presented with good wines.

What a super find, a wonderful hotel with amazing food, great choice of drinks, lovely home made biscuits and cakes brought to our table everyday complimentary of the chef.
