Beers on the sun bathed terrace at the end of the day, themed evenings that will have you laughing all night (and in to the early hours in the cave bar) and food worthy of any establishment with many more stars.

The bar staff keep you well watered and entertained.

When in Niederau I always enjoy visiting the O’Malleys bar at The Staffler Hotel.

O'Malley's bar was busy and it was fantastic to see so many people coming to visit the hotel bar creating such a great atmosphere.

With entertaining theme nights and a very convivial bar It’s easy to see why so many skiers and boarders return time after time.

From front of house to guiding, bar staff and chefs were all excellent and raring to please.

Fantastic food in the restaurant and a great bar to relax and chill out in.

The Staffler team is well managed & are great at mixing up groups in the Cave Bar activities.

The hotel also boasts a relaxed bar area and below is the almost soundproof fun cave bar disco, perfect for night owls like myself!

We had great fun in the Cave Bar especially on karaoke night!

The hotel itself is lovely, clean, comfy beds, hot showers, great food, fab selection of drinks at the bar, boot room all easy to get to and plenty of ski storage, the cave bar in the basement is an absolute hoot with great music, games and atmosphere.. we didn't hear any noise from this in the rooms once collapsed in bed.

However lots of welcoming bars and restaurants on every slope.

A great bar to relax in and also late night “cave bar” in the cellar  if you want to continue the Après late into the night.

O’malleys Bar and Cave club provided entertainment for all.

The cave bar is dangerous amounts of fun.

Breakfast and Dinner are always good and the bar staff great and you can watch sports events.

As usual friendly staff, management team and recognisable staff and clients from previous years and trips out there.

We were looked after from the time we booked until we were well on our journey home by staff who were professional, friendly and caring .

Nick and Yana are fantastic hosts with a fantastic balance of friendly and professional.

A pre Christmas and early season get away, the staff at the Staffler were oh so helpful, friendly and supportive to ensure this trip was so enjoyable even while dealing with all the Covid-19 restrictions.

Feels like home from home with the big friendly welcome we receive from Yana, Nick and the team.

They somehow manage to create a wonderful friendly atmosphere whether you're a family staying with children or a group of adults out for an annual ski trip.

The hotel is extremely welcoming and friendly, Nick and the team pull out all the stops to ensure all guests have a memorable stay.

They really care about their guests and are always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

From the minute I entered I was bowled over by the friendly, fun staff who simply couldn't do enough for us.

The English owner was the perfect host and great fun and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Just got back from a weeks stay at the hotel staffler this was a very friendly hotel brilliant food and 1st class ski guiding organised to suit singles or larger groups.

Comfortable room, great food, friendly staff attitude and excellent range of ski activities from learner, me, to experienced, my family.

Just love this place, staff are always friendly and ready to help.

What a fab place, great bar and atmosphere, with very friendly and helpful staff.

A real highlight for me this year has been the improvement in skiing with the help of Nigel (Michael Portillo) - known for being a joke/story telling machine whilst trying to light fags in the worst weather conditions possible.

Very light sleepers would maybe need earplugs.

.One thing to remember id your ear plugs for a good nights sleep!

Tip - If you're coming on a lads trip for goodness sake bring ear plugs!!!

We have stayed in places twice+ the price and had less fun and bad food and usually a pool that we may use once and a TV in the room we never watched.

It opens at 9pm and the children are allowed in until 10pm for a bit of a dance and to play pool after dinner if they want,

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a romantic get away

It could get noisy in the dining room due to the latter, so don't expect a quiet romantic getaway.

though to the entertaining evening meal and also join in with skiing days out.

So naturally on our next visit we had to come to stay! From every stage of the booking we were made to feel “at home” (and I emailed a lot!)

Nick was his usual entertaining, funny and attentive self with his ‘nothing is too much’ attitude.

Nick and Yanna are the greatest  hosts you could wish for (Nick is also very entertaining at dinner time).

Wonderful food, entertainment, ski guiding, service and company.

Breakfast has many offerings and the three course evening meals are simply delicious with Nick being great entertainment.

and the entertainment flowed, both in the hotel and in the cave bar.

The entertainment in the cave bar was superb.

Our mixed group were never bored from great skiing, afternoon in the local health spa with swimming for the kids, a night dancing in the Cave and my highlight the 25 mins Toboggan run did it 4 times it's hilarious.

Meal times are always entertaining and the mountain guidance throughout the days skiing is beyond compare.

Made many fantastic friends of the staff an guests over the years.

Great location, great skiing, great guiding, great owners and staff, great value.

And the infectious enthusiasm and energy pervades the whole team.

I have never skied so much in 4 days in my life.

We had a great family ski trip hosted by Yana, Nick and the team at the Hotel Staffler.

Arriving back after the worlds lockdown, 8 of Austrian Ski Team descended at the well renowned Hotel Staffler.

Regardless of the weather their guiding team of Beth, Robin and Gaston will seek out the best runs and the best restaurants for lunch. Spectacular!

We were welcomed by every member of staff who could not do enough for us!

Every day is an opportunity to cover kilometres of beautiful pistes under the care & guidance of very competent & talented skiers (& boarders) who make each day on the mountain so much fun.

A big thank you to Nick ,Yana and the gang for yet again ensuring that our annual trip to Niederau lived up to our pent up expectations after last years Covid washout.

It is so hard to get right….but when you’ve done it as long and as successfully as the Brookers have, then it becomes the icing on a truly great cake - so long as you can get around the mountain in some form… then it’s open to all and very family oriented.

Getting up at the crack of dawn to hit the first ski lift and then led across the mountains by exceptional guides, doing runs I would never do if on my own, not having to worry about which lift to get, and then taken to the best lunch spots to meet up with the other groups out that day.

We particularly enjoyed the excellent daily guiding and the mountain restaurant stops, cleverly organised so that all groups met for lunch, which worked well for us.

The team provide the transfer to get you to the first lifts which takes the pressure of travelling around yourself and find you the best mountain restaurants with stunning views for lunch.

The rooms are well laid out, clean, comfortable and balcony views superb..

The ski area is diverse and expansive and Nick organises guided group day trips for everyone of every ski ability and this is a huge draw as you get taken off for the whole day and shown round the mountains and have lunch as a group.

Located a few steps from ski school, the nursery slopes, the bubble car to take you too the top of the mountain and the bus stop if you want to travel anywhere else.

A great lively, fun hotel, for skiers (and boarders) who like to cover the mountain, with excellent guiding and knowledge of the area and polite helpful staff all-round.

Driven to a number of resorts and guided around by a great ‘on mountain’ team, no need to think, just ski, drink, eat and laugh!

Views from hotel are amazing, Guided skiing arranged from hotel daily from their own staff at no extra cost, so you can get to see many different slopes without having to worry.

but have everything you need, extremely warm and we had a shared balcony which had amazing views
The hotel itself is central to the ski hire shop and main ski slopes and they also offer a free guided tour daily of nearby slopes if you fancy a change of scenery
All-in-all cannot fault The Staffler and cannot wait to return

Great mountain lunches (reasonably priced), lovely early 3 course dinner.

Views from our room were beautiful - Room was spotless - The food at the Staffler is 5*, every night there is something new and tasty - Great atmosphere, great music - wonderful staff.

The hotel Staffler is perfect, very spacious and great rooms, we had a balcony with a great view of the slopes and sun beating on it all day.

Nick and his team make sure that your stay runs like clockwork, ensuring that you make the most of the mountains.

Now the views from the dining room are picture perfect.

The guides knew exactly where to take to ski and lunch, food on the mountains was always great as the guides had 'vetted' where to take guests.

The evening meal has waiter service with soup, main course and dessert, with buffet service for the extensive choice from the salad bar.

and the food is beautiful, with extra care put in so that people with allergies / dietary requirements can always eat the food. The kitchen / bar staff are lovely to talk to (even if your German is rubbish!)

we went to his sisters Bar up the road and had a great time with him playing is harp .

Only five bar gates on a table number which you maybe sharing.

I saw a salad bar & helped myself only to be told told salad bar was for house guest only!

lovely clean spotless village with a couple of decent bars just down the road .

A beautiful Austrian village, excellent slopes for beginners and intermediates and some charming bars and restaurants.

The bar staff where also quite rude and beer was clean and may have been from a previous holiday maker

The T bar M5 is just down across the road from the hotel, or the bus stop outside the hotel can take you to the main cable car, M1, just one stop away.

4 course evening set menu with great soups, a bit repetitive salad bar, choice of 3 mains including a good vegetarian option which is very important for us and much better than we’ve had elsewhere.

Drinks were bought from the bar and you brought them to the table, which was fine

We did end up going into the village and greatly enjoyed the Hexalm bar and the gin bar.

If not to your liking they have their own bar food menu which is very reasonably priced.

The surrounding area:
The Dancing Cave Bar round the corner shows live football.

although a small village was fun with lively bars and lots of fireworks.

The bar staff were very attentive and you could go to the bar or they would come to you.

We arrived late afternoon and after unpacking, arranging our ski hire, lessons for the beginners and lift passes we had a drink in the bar.

The hotel is right opposite the ski area nursery pistes with two lifts, pummel and “T” bar, that could offer access to the main gondola to the top of the ski area.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Harfenwirt is a nice 3 star hotel with helpful friendly staff.

rooms were spacious and very modern.. the food was brilliant and varied .. bar staff and waiters were friendly and attentive to all our needs .. and the owner Herbert .

He was very friendly and throughout the stay greeted us and chatted to us, as he did with many of the guests.

Niederau itself is really lovely, very friendly people and really reasonable.

The owner, family and staff are friendly and efficient.

This is a very friendly hotel, the soups are always good and the food reflects the area of Austria the hotel is in.

- Rooms are big and clean, stayed in the modern wing and it had a lovely balcony overlooking a green field and the villages

- Staff are pleasant and friendly.

Herbert, the owner, takes a real interest in his guests and is always there at breakfast and dinner, chatting to everyone and offering suggestions and advice.We found him friendly, helpful, kind, funny and entertaining and we miss him.

Also, a mention for Maria and the breakfast girl who were always very friendly.

Staying at the hotel Hartenwirt was well situated for buses and lifts making it easy to get about, and your host Herbet was very friendly and for a most pleasent memorable holiday

All in all, a very nice, clean, friendly hotel in a quiet location.

I hope they drop this uncaring hotel which deserves one star only and that for the location.

This hotel is located in the beautiful Wildschonau valley in the Tirol, in the small town of Niederau.

Located opposite a nursery run, and also a t-bar with access to the main lifts
in the centre of Neiderau.

I have recently spent a week in this hotel with a friend and was generally happy with the comfort and location of the hotel.

Slightly quirky, I would still recommend this hotel for its location and value.

Fab location for the piste and only short walk to the centre and ski school.

Location of the hotel in the Wildschönau valley is great.

Just come back from a week in this hotel, The hotel comes in at a very reasonably price and is very convenient location right opposite ski slopes and next to a bus stop which is free to use to take you further afield The staff are very hard working and Herbert the owner is very amiable.

I stayed here with my partner 12th -19th Jan. Positives are great location - couldn't be better as far as we were concerned, right opposite the 2 drag lifts that connected you with the  rest of Niederau's lift system and a bus stop right outside which took you to Auffach for a great variety of skiing.

Hotel location excellent for ski lifts, nursery slopes, ski school meeting point, bus stop right outside.

The hotel is in a peaceful position about 5 minutes walk from the lovely village of Niederau where there are two supermarkets, shops, a beautiful church and the town bandstand where we went both weeks to hear their excellent local band.The local buses stop outside the hotel.

As far as the location goes, it was at the edge of town, maybe 5 minutes walk in to the centre where there were a few bars and restaurants all of which were very nice,

Position opposite the slope is great and a bus stop is a few yards down the road.

Location at the bottom of one of the nursery slopes and Tanndelan list made easy access to the main gondola even for a cautious skier like myself.

It is located outside of the village so entails walking quite a way to the main centre or shops.

Hotel located at start of ski bus route, so good to always get a place.

- The booking and all the room management is done on paper leading to big confusion and chaos sometime.

Manager was not keen to help out in restaurant.

To be honest Inghams rep and his manager seemed like they did not want to 'upset the applecart' so weren't much help.

4) Management also told us that on New Year's Eve there would be a band and a DJ which would play 80's music until midnight and after midnight play chart music.

Employ a younger\more active bar manager to make more out of a captive customer base.

If you require a table for two or for your party, advise the Manager when you check in and ask politely

The autocratic management of the hotel was inconvenient because the owner was trying to manage everything himself.

but, in fairness, they were fixed within half an hour of us mentioning it to the management.

Crystal reps ran out of list passes on the transfer into Niederau, so we had to call the manager out to sort this out for us, which she did.

However if you are looking for a quirky style of management in which everyone does it Herbert's way come to this hotel.

In our opinion he is a terrible manager and unable to run a hotel.

On arrival on the Saturday night we were informed that the manager, an obnoxious man called Herbert, had overbooked the hotel.

but place our comments to their management.

Please don't use this hotel because apart from this incident, the hotel manager, who happens to be the owner and receptionist and pretty much everything -including a horrible boss to workers, does not treat guests with respect.

Everything was acceptable apart from service, this is due to lack of staff and poor management.

This is a management issue and until the owners of the hotel want to change their attitudes, the staff never will.

We were the last two to get our rooms at 3pm (despite being up at 4am that morning) having to ask a waiter to find out where the manager had gone.

There was an abrupt waitress who was only concerned with selling drinks, not welcoming guests.

but the kitchen staff are amazing (Thankyou!)

Staff were great, always helpful and pleasant and bar staff were great fun - try the ‘cheeky, cheeky’ schnapps (adults only)!!!!!

Check in at reception was swift and quick with the staff speaking very good English.

The wine waitress was very pleasant and efficient

I even met three who had stayed at this hotel many times previously - a real credit to Herbert, the owner, who is a real character who spent time getting to know us all and even played his harp for us - a memory I will always cherish.

Herbert owner of the hotel was amazing on the Harp so if you hear he is playing at the guest house up the road it's worth a visit.

Overall it felt like these guys have no idea what’s going on in hospitality industry these days.

The bed was exceptionally comfortable and I slept really well all week.

There did not appear to be many staff at evening meal, and when large coach party staying the staff were rushed off their feet,with the manager sat drinking and chatting (he could have assisted).

Hubert was a great host and the swimming pool wonderful.

The staff were exceptional, always quick to look after you and good humoured.

Very pretty, chalet style, lots of flowers on balconies, nice views, quiet.

Our room had a reasonable view and balcony.

The view at the top is magnificent, and there are some mountain paths to follow, and you can watch the para gliders launching.

but had a nice large balcony with a nice mountain view.

The hotel is beautifully situated and has good transport links, including a short walk to the gondola which has the most amazing views.

Regrettably at the moment there is a new hotel being built right alongside
this hotel so our view was of a very large crane and building works from 7am in the morning.

Room warm, comfortable & clean with balcony & wonderful view of beginner slopes.

My sons had a lovely modern shower at the back of the hotel, we had a lovely view of the piste

Loads of wardrobe space and super views from balcony.

Outside I had a balcony with wonderful views of the mountain and the paragliders from the paragliding school next door.

Meals were good and we had a nice room with a spectacular view.

We were fortunate to have very good weather, the Wildschonau pass entitles you to free lifts up the mountain in Neiderau.

Plus point it overlooked the slopes and was large,

Started off really well as our double room was nice, clean, comfy bed and a walk in shower with a balcony over looking the front towards the mountain ski runs and lifts so the views were amazing even in the rain that was falling heavily as we arrived late afternoon to check in.

We were very happy with the room, which was spacious with lovely views, the food, which was traditional Tyrolean and 2 very entertaining musical evenings.

but use the bus, free with ski pass from Niederau to next resort Auffach as you can’t ski from one mountain to another.
