highly recommended this hotel its ski in ski out .. right on the ski bus stop for the Alpach area.

I was on a skiing holiday and it is worth mentioning that the free ski bus stop is right outside the hotel giving direct access to Aufach and the connected Ski Jewel area

Not to far from the town to walk either during the day or the night and a bus stop right outside.

The bus stop is right outside the hotel which is a bonus to get to the main area.

The T bar M5 is just down across the road from the hotel, or the bus stop outside the hotel can take you to the main cable car, M1, just one stop away.

Just come back from a week in this hotel, The hotel comes in at a very reasonably price and is very convenient location right opposite ski slopes and next to a bus stop which is free to use to take you further afield The staff are very hard working and Herbert the owner is very amiable.

I stayed here with my partner 12th -19th Jan. Positives are great location - couldn't be better as far as we were concerned, right opposite the 2 drag lifts that connected you with the  rest of Niederau's lift system and a bus stop right outside which took you to Auffach for a great variety of skiing.

Hotel location excellent for ski lifts, nursery slopes, ski school meeting point, bus stop right outside.

Bus stops right outside the hotel and we skied to and from most days - blue runs and 2 lifts into the village, red and blues home.

but the bus stops right outside the hotel and the Wildschonau card gives you free access to the cable cars, outdoor swimming pool up the road (fantastic for kids) and other good deals, if you are staying in the hotel you should be entitled to one and they are awesome.

The hotel is in a peaceful position about 5 minutes walk from the lovely village of Niederau where there are two supermarkets, shops, a beautiful church and the town bandstand where we went both weeks to hear their excellent local band.The local buses stop outside the hotel.

Poor Herbert, he is too controlling agree with that, but his wife died only a few weeks back when we were there in feb.

as it was first bus stop and meant you could get on and seated.

Position opposite the slope is great and a bus stop is a few yards down the road.

Can ski to gondola by crossing road in front of hotel and getting T bar lift up, then skiing down to gondola (worth noting as the walk down is a trek with your gear), alternatively free ski bus stops right outside frequently.

There are 2 ski lifts opposite the hotel and the ski bus stops right outside.

The location is perfect, first stop for the bus to Auffach so you get a seat every time.

The hotel and room were spotless, you get a summer card for the resort that allows use of the ski access lifts and some other discounts.

in the centre of Neiderau.

button lift then up there skiing right which rakes you down to the meeting place for lessons or gondala.

We were fortunate to have very good weather, the Wildschonau pass entitles you to free lifts up the mountain in Neiderau.

Opposite some of the smaller lifts which you can connect to the main gondola  from so minimal effort getting out which was also a big benefit.

Started off really well as our double room was nice, clean, comfy bed and a walk in shower with a balcony over looking the front towards the mountain ski runs and lifts so the views were amazing even in the rain that was falling heavily as we arrived late afternoon to check in.

Get up early if you want to beat the lift queues - aim for 8.50 or 9.10 bus and it’s much more civilised!

Staying at the hotel Hartenwirt was well situated for buses and lifts making it easy to get about, and your host Herbet was very friendly and for a most pleasent memorable holiday

We arrived late afternoon and after unpacking, arranging our ski hire, lessons for the beginners and lift passes we had a drink in the bar.

Ski lifts are free in summer for walkers and bikers to get up high for many trails, all well marked.

but long queues at lift station  in mid March when local schools descend on the area.

Hotel close to nursery slope (button lift), turn right down to Gondola which takes you up to the runs at Niederau.

- The bathroom was small and congested with poor exhaust.

Towels small and threadbare, no safe in room,poor lighting and the bedframe was very squeaky!!

The food is poor in quality and very basic,  which quite frankly,  insults the Austrian cuisine.

The only down side is that some of the food is not extra the main meals particularly poor some home or fresh produce would not go a miss.

Service in general was poor and unfriendly.

There had been some poor reviews previously on Tripadvisor about this hotel, so we were a little reticent about booking it.

Service is very poor & the owner thinks it's above him to help.

Service is poor and the waiters seemed more interested in providing drinks from the bar than serving meals to the guests.

Never saw such a rude and poor service anywhere.

Wifi poor, only available in the reception area.

but in fact the quality was so poor,  so I will claim that there is no Internet at all.

Was a shame as we got a good deal because the snow was poor.

The resort as a whole needs a high level link from the Niederau area down to Auffach rather than relying on ski busses which are poor frequency midday.

The hotel is kept really clean and the rooms are a good size and hot water was always on tap.

Our room was clean, spacious in the new wing with a balcony facing north so always shady in the afternoon which we liked.

Rooms were clean on arrival, and kept clean during our stay.

Overall the rooms were clean and ok even in the old part.

It was spotlessly clean in both our room and the public areas.

but if all you want is a comfortable night's sleep in a clean room, a hot meal and a wee drink between outdoor adventures, this is your place! .

I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfasts and evening meal, with plenty of variety and goodness after a day skiing.

Food was very good for a skiing holiday, enjoyed our three course evening meal and it always had plenty flavour.

We stayed at this hotel during a skiing trip to Niederau.

We opted to take the bus to Auffach and from there you can take another cable car  over to Inneralpbach, where the skiing is good.

but larger areas are reachable by bus so you can mix it up. The pool was lovely and sauna/steam room was ideal to relax after a days skiing (just avert your eyes to the naked Austrians if that isn’t your bag haha.)

but you quickly catch yourself on and remember that you are there for the Skiing.

We had a great stay here, just got back from a weeks skiing.

but other reviews suggest she had died, so maybe another family member, both of them were similarly polite and helpful, offering advice about skiing areas.

It was 4 of us staying in this hotel for a week skiing holiday.

Skiing fairly limited in Niederau especially for beginners

Breakfast starts at 8:00 am - too late for fans of morning skiing.

The wellness facilities are excellent with a great pool area to relax after an hard day skiing.

One the second day, three of us were hit with food poisoning as we all had lamb and missed two days of skiing.

Niederau is a good resort for intermediates and beginners, just testing enough with access via bus to some excellent intermediate skiing at Auffach.

Family skiing holiday February 2017 half-term (x 3 people), we stayed in the newest part of the hotel, bedroom was big with 2 beds pushed together to make a Queen size and a single sofa bed (14 yr old said it was very comfortable); lots of wardrobe space; powerful, hot shower; underfloor heating in bathroom; separate toilet; balcony.

The rooms were clean, beds cosy, hot water plentiful, and breakfasts and evening meals tasty and filling after a day on the slopes.

The pension is spotlessly clean and the beds are comfortable.

Beds are very comfy and showers are lovely and warm after a long day on the slopes.

After a hard day skiing, coming back to warmth, hot showers, comfortable beds and great food is ideal- and that is what the Enzian offers!

The food and service was excellent,   the beds were the most comfortable ever and duvets lovely and warm,  I would love to go back.

The rooms are very clean, with extremely comfortable beds, and duvets that allow you to get some fresh air into the room at night whilst staying warm underneath!!!

One of our two rooms even had bunk beds for the children.

Our room was large , light and spotless , towels were changed every second day , beds were very comfortable too.

Accommodation at the Enzian was very comfortable and our room 16 was spacious with good beds, powerful  shower and a large balcony overlooking the nursery slopes just across the road.

The rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable, shower was great with plenty of hot water, we faced the hills at the back which was a lovely view.

This was our first time in this resort, our room (No 4) was very spacious with en-suite facilities and the most comfortable bed/s which have full memory foam mattresses (not toppers).

but clean and comfortable, we had very comfy twin beds put together which was fine.

The rooms were very clean with good powerful showers for after skiing.just be aware that the Austrian twin beds are basically two single mattresses on a double frame.I was sharing with my son, so I simply put one of the mattresses on the floor - there was just enough room.

Being close to the centre it is also close to the gondola (chair lift) that takes you up to several beautiful mountain walks.

The Enzian is also at a great location, with a blue slope with drag life directly opposite, from which you can ski down to the chair lift or the gondola to go up mountain.

but when you add in the other ski areas on the lift pass with easy access using the free ski bus it provides a varied and interesting range of challenges.

All in all we couldn't fault Pension Enzian and I think we will be back :-)

Firstly the rooms are really clean with a nice balcony.

The rooms were kept tidy and clean by Tina (and some helpers) while we were having breakfast.

We had an excellent week in the Pension Enzia in Niederau  with a very comfortable and clean room with balcony  .

Our room was clean and comfortable, shower was good with constant hot water, food was tasty home cooking, would not hesitate to return again excellent value for a two star Pension.

Just returned from spending Christmas 2013 at Pension Enzian.Hosts Thomas & and Tina were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent, the room was very clean and warm with a great view of the ski slopes.

Our room was very clean and a lovely view from the balcony of the mountains.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the food is good and it's clear that Tom and Tina put a lot of effort into making their guesthouse a great place to stay.

Food always well presented and very hot, rooms are very clean, comfortable and warm.

though smoking seems to be banned at the Pension, the place often smells quite strongly of smoke as the staff and their friends do smoke inside.

There is no general sitting and relaxing area in the day and despite asking guests not to smoke, our room sometimes smelt of smoke.

Austrian and Dutch guests will smoke in here and make it an unpleasant dining experience.

The ONLY bad thing was that Austria still allows smoking where you eat & drink, so

You will have to bare in mind this is a guest house and not a five star hotel with lots of staff and huge kitchens so the food is wholesome and simple.

but then we didn’t expect that as Crystal Ski only advertises it as 2 star.

Only reason for not being 5 stars is that it is quite a basic hotel

You have to accept that you get what you pay for, facilities are not going to be five star standard in a two star hotel,

Mid- way through our stay Tom and Tina stopped us as we were due to get the bus into town, and Tom told us off for questioning  the closure of the nearest swimming pool ; he then challenged us for ‘ complaining’ to our rep that the food was not fresh,  insisting that it was ; when we queried this having  seen the box of powdered potato for example, Tom pursued us down the corridor and out  of the door raising his voice saying that we should go to our room ; pack up our bags and go to a 5 star hotel .

however the kind of person that likes to be pampered and need luxury, go and find a 5 star hotel.

The Enzian is just across the road from a nursery slope which opens at 9 and an easy way to get to the top of the mountain by chair or past the chair to the other nursery slopes on gondola.

but it was clean and perfect for our skiing holiday (anyone who skis will tell you it's all about time on the mountain)!

And the view from my balcony was amazing.

Whilst not as grand a view as the front there is still a scenic view and to the right you can see across Niederau town.

The only routes down from the top of the mountain are brilliant red/black runs or the gondola.

but very comfortable and a balcony with spectacular views of the mountains.

Beautiful view  from room 11 over the hills, what more could you ask for.

We had a super room overlooking the hills to the back of the pension, and our room was lovely and clean and welcoming.

The food in the hotel was very good and the location to the slopes could not be better as the base station was 50 metres away across the road as were loads of good bars and restaurants.

It is greatly located for direct access to the Markbachjoch ski lifts.

Loved the hotel location: next to both the gondola and the bus and Bummelbahn (tourist train that cruses the valley).

The Hotel Austria is in a perfect location for the slopes and is a super place to stay to make the most of beautiful Niederau!

The central location means a very short walk to the ski school, lifts, shops and bars and there is a ski hire shop in the basement of the hotel.

Lovely views of the mountains and perfect location for skiing.

Located in the heart of the village opposite the main lift & ski school.

The location of the hotel is ideal for skiers, directly across the road and a 50 metre walk to the main Markbachjochbahn gondola - or across the road and a 50 metre walk in a slightly different direction to the meeting point for the main skischool (skischule wildschoenau, the red ski school).

Feeling sick and totally put off from eating any further food at this dismal location, my boyfriend rushed to the toilet to vomit while the chef was re-cooking the remaining chicken.

With that in mind we feel the Hotel Austria did us proud: all rooms had balconies & superb alpine views, modern bathroom, hot water, comfy beds, very acceptable food served by pleasant staff, excellent position in lovely rural small town/large village.

This is highly recommended as a brilliant hotel in a fantastic location.

The biggest disappointment for our stay was the food, it was poor and lacked choice.

we tried contacting Marcus from Crystal skii for several days  - the number does not work and we could not get hold of him - very poor service.

There were lots of complaints among my fellow passengers, about the food , quantity, variety, and quality and the service ,but the only thing I can agree on is that the service was poor particularly on the first two days.

The reason for three and not four stars was the poor service in the restaurant.

The service in the restaurant was also at times very poor.

The TV was very old with a poor picture which we gave up on.

The holiday got off to a poor start with a six hour delay compounded by our flight been diverted to Salzburg from Innsbruck.

Going back to our room, it was a hangover from the 1970s  with very poor lighting,(in order to read in the evening, you had to have all 3 over bed lights on, plus a standard lamp in the corner), a carpet with cigarette burns on it, and a door which would not close to the bathroom.

This was of the same poor standard and reeked of cigarette smoke.

Our week skiing was gorgeous blue skies so no snow in Niederau village as poor on slopes so we ventured on the bus to Auffach as higher.

but the weather was poor so we came back to Inneralpbach and skied until the weather front came over.

After staying at the Hotel Austria I cannot believe that anyone would give a poor review.

The lighting in our room was so poor it was difficult to read.

After stopping at this hotel last year, I was a little bit concerned by what proved to be unjust poor reviews from other travellers.

but the breakfast buffet is a shame, extremely poor choice, they always "forget " to refill it, so there were people queing to grab a slice of ham every morning.

Not content with trying to keep guests awake all night with the poor beds we found that the church opposite does not stop chiming its bells throughout the night.

but lack of bedroom comfort and poor evening meals means only 2 stars.

Towells very thin, worn and of poor quality.

We spent 7 Nights in the Austria on a skiing trip with my Wife and Son, the hotel was spotless, and the owner and family where very helpful, we needed extra pillows and within 5 minutes of requesting them they arrived, nothing was too much trouble for them, the only poor points of the hotel are just silly things like having to buy for the wifi in this age!

but OK. Clean rooms, efficient service, lovely pool and sauna.

You could really feel the pride this family took in their hotel- down to the tiny details in the bedrooms, the cleanliness of all rooms and the friendly smiles they gave.

Had a great time ,food excellent, rooms were clean and comfy with great view on balcony, staff  efficient and helpful.

Our room was kept clean and tidy ,and had plenty of space for storage.

Rooms were clean and we had one with recently renovated bathroom which was lovely.

The room was clean, was well laid out for our needs,   clean towels were provided every day,  It was lovely to stay at a family owned hotel, certainly better service than the big hotel chains.

Situated literally steps from the slopes, this hotel offers very clean rooms, swimming pool and sauna, wonderful, authentic food (and plenty of it), heated boot room, and much more.

Nothing was too much trouble, our rooms were very clean and spacious, the staff were genuinely polite and the location is as central to the Mountain as can be.

Rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful.

In fairness, the room was clean and warm,

The rooms are clean and the cleaners would always make our room cosy and welcoming.
