highly recommended this hotel its ski in ski out .. right on the ski bus stop for the Alpach area.

I was on a skiing holiday and it is worth mentioning that the free ski bus stop is right outside the hotel giving direct access to Aufach and the connected Ski Jewel area

Not to far from the town to walk either during the day or the night and a bus stop right outside.

The bus stop is right outside the hotel which is a bonus to get to the main area.

The T bar M5 is just down across the road from the hotel, or the bus stop outside the hotel can take you to the main cable car, M1, just one stop away.

Just come back from a week in this hotel, The hotel comes in at a very reasonably price and is very convenient location right opposite ski slopes and next to a bus stop which is free to use to take you further afield The staff are very hard working and Herbert the owner is very amiable.

I stayed here with my partner 12th -19th Jan. Positives are great location - couldn't be better as far as we were concerned, right opposite the 2 drag lifts that connected you with the  rest of Niederau's lift system and a bus stop right outside which took you to Auffach for a great variety of skiing.

Hotel location excellent for ski lifts, nursery slopes, ski school meeting point, bus stop right outside.

Bus stops right outside the hotel and we skied to and from most days - blue runs and 2 lifts into the village, red and blues home.

but the bus stops right outside the hotel and the Wildschonau card gives you free access to the cable cars, outdoor swimming pool up the road (fantastic for kids) and other good deals, if you are staying in the hotel you should be entitled to one and they are awesome.

The hotel is in a peaceful position about 5 minutes walk from the lovely village of Niederau where there are two supermarkets, shops, a beautiful church and the town bandstand where we went both weeks to hear their excellent local band.The local buses stop outside the hotel.

Poor Herbert, he is too controlling agree with that, but his wife died only a few weeks back when we were there in feb.

as it was first bus stop and meant you could get on and seated.

Position opposite the slope is great and a bus stop is a few yards down the road.

Can ski to gondola by crossing road in front of hotel and getting T bar lift up, then skiing down to gondola (worth noting as the walk down is a trek with your gear), alternatively free ski bus stops right outside frequently.

There are 2 ski lifts opposite the hotel and the ski bus stops right outside.

The location is perfect, first stop for the bus to Auffach so you get a seat every time.

The hotel and room were spotless, you get a summer card for the resort that allows use of the ski access lifts and some other discounts.

Located opposite a nursery run, and also a t-bar with access to the main lifts
in the centre of Neiderau.

button lift then up there skiing right which rakes you down to the meeting place for lessons or gondala.

We were fortunate to have very good weather, the Wildschonau pass entitles you to free lifts up the mountain in Neiderau.

Opposite some of the smaller lifts which you can connect to the main gondola  from so minimal effort getting out which was also a big benefit.

Ski lift and ski bus and immediately in front of the hotel.

Started off really well as our double room was nice, clean, comfy bed and a walk in shower with a balcony over looking the front towards the mountain ski runs and lifts so the views were amazing even in the rain that was falling heavily as we arrived late afternoon to check in.

Excellent apres ski facilities, warm large swimming pool,steam room and sauna,

Get up early if you want to beat the lift queues - aim for 8.50 or 9.10 bus and it’s much more civilised!

Short walk down the road to lifts for main slopes.

Staying at the hotel Hartenwirt was well situated for buses and lifts making it easy to get about, and your host Herbet was very friendly and for a most pleasent memorable holiday

We arrived late afternoon and after unpacking, arranging our ski hire, lessons for the beginners and lift passes we had a drink in the bar.

Ski lifts are free in summer for walkers and bikers to get up high for many trails, all well marked.

but long queues at lift station  in mid March when local schools descend on the area.

Hotel close to nursery slope (button lift), turn right down to Gondola which takes you up to the runs at Niederau.

In the basement is a super new indoor pool and a sun terrace, not at all busy during my visit

The hotel also has excellenf facilities - lovely rooms, comfy beds, gorgeous pool and sun terrace and everywhere is immaculate. As someone with very severe food allergies, I was worried about eating abroad

The pool and other spa facilities were ok.

Then comes the problem(s).

Hubert was a great host and the swimming pool wonderful.

The hotel Harfenwirt also has a nice swimming pool that is not overused.

The plus sides are it has a very nice swimming pool and sauna and steam room

but larger areas are reachable by bus so you can mix it up. The pool was lovely and sauna/steam room was ideal to relax after a days skiing (just avert your eyes to the naked Austrians if that isn’t your bag haha.)

The pool is wonderful, ski kit room warm.

Facilities such as the heated swimming pool, saunas and steam rooms were lovely

Good points - pool was great (take your own pool towel) , continental buffet breakfast was good with bacon and eggs as extra option.

Note it was a couple of years ago, great pool and you can ski down to the hotel if there is enough snow.

Too strict schedules: 18:00 - 19:30 dinner, pool: from 10:00 to 19:00.

Pool is great -highly recommend using it.

Some observations: 

-Pool is amazing, clean with in built jacuzzi features and a terrace shaded by a hedge with views of the surrounding hills.

- The bathroom was small and congested with poor exhaust.

Towels small and threadbare, no safe in room,poor lighting and the bedframe was very squeaky!!

The food is poor in quality and very basic,  which quite frankly,  insults the Austrian cuisine.

The only down side is that some of the food is not extra the main meals particularly poor some home or fresh produce would not go a miss.

Service in general was poor and unfriendly.

There had been some poor reviews previously on Tripadvisor about this hotel, so we were a little reticent about booking it.

Service is very poor & the owner thinks it's above him to help.

Service is poor and the waiters seemed more interested in providing drinks from the bar than serving meals to the guests.

Never saw such a rude and poor service anywhere.

Wifi poor, only available in the reception area.

but in fact the quality was so poor,  so I will claim that there is no Internet at all.

Was a shame as we got a good deal because the snow was poor.

The resort as a whole needs a high level link from the Niederau area down to Auffach rather than relying on ski busses which are poor frequency midday.

Very poor snow in the resort and the hotel was also very poor.

Food exceeded my expectations, breakfast what you would expect in a small Austrian hotel quite basic not your full English,

and the food is beautiful, with extra care put in so that people with allergies / dietary requirements can always eat the food. The kitchen / bar staff are lovely to talk to (even if your German is rubbish!)

The evening meals were not at all good, and most evenings I left the majority of the meal and ended up having a plate of salad.

Food was good,  with a healthy option every day & very varied with good service.

Food was very good for a skiing holiday, enjoyed our three course evening meal and it always had plenty flavour.

We were on half board basis and the food was extremely poor to the extent that we opted to eat out a couple of evenings.

rooms were spacious and very modern.. the food was brilliant and varied .. bar staff and waiters were friendly and attentive to all our needs .. and the owner Herbert .

Some of the food particularly the salad buffet in the evening looked unappetising and very often ran out if you came down to dinner after 7 PM ( time slot was from 6 to 8).

The evening meal was different every day with a choice of three mains along with a soup, salad and dessert.

The food was good and the service was excellent.

Overall the rooms were clean and ok even in the old part.

It was spotlessly clean in both our room and the public areas.

but if all you want is a comfortable night's sleep in a clean room, a hot meal and a wee drink between outdoor adventures, this is your place! .

The room was clean, well-appointed.and the balcony an added bonus.

Beds are comfortable and clean as are the rooms and all public areas of the hotel.

I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfasts and evening meal, with plenty of variety and goodness after a day skiing.

We stayed at this hotel during a skiing trip to Niederau.

We opted to take the bus to Auffach and from there you can take another cable car  over to Inneralpbach, where the skiing is good.

but you quickly catch yourself on and remember that you are there for the Skiing.

We had a great stay here, just got back from a weeks skiing.

but other reviews suggest she had died, so maybe another family member, both of them were similarly polite and helpful, offering advice about skiing areas.

It was 4 of us staying in this hotel for a week skiing holiday.

Skiing fairly limited in Niederau especially for beginners

Breakfast starts at 8:00 am - too late for fans of morning skiing.

The wellness facilities are excellent with a great pool area to relax after an hard day skiing.

One the second day, three of us were hit with food poisoning as we all had lamb and missed two days of skiing.

Niederau is a good resort for intermediates and beginners, just testing enough with access via bus to some excellent intermediate skiing at Auffach.

Family skiing holiday February 2017 half-term (x 3 people), we stayed in the newest part of the hotel, bedroom was big with 2 beds pushed together to make a Queen size and a single sofa bed (14 yr old said it was very comfortable); lots of wardrobe space; powerful, hot shower; underfloor heating in bathroom; separate toilet; balcony.

There was an abrupt waitress who was only concerned with selling drinks, not welcoming guests.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Harfenwirt is a nice 3 star hotel with helpful friendly staff.

but the kitchen staff are amazing (Thankyou!)

Staff were great, always helpful and pleasant and bar staff were great fun - try the ‘cheeky, cheeky’ schnapps (adults only)!!!!!

The staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

Friendly staff who were helpful & polite.

Check in at reception was swift and quick with the staff speaking very good English.

The wine waitress was very pleasant and efficient

I even met three who had stayed at this hotel many times previously - a real credit to Herbert, the owner, who is a real character who spent time getting to know us all and even played his harp for us - a memory I will always cherish.

Herbert owner of the hotel was amazing on the Harp so if you hear he is playing at the guest house up the road it's worth a visit.

Overall it felt like these guys have no idea what’s going on in hospitality industry these days.

The Alpine atmosphere and friendly hotel staff really made my holiday this summer.

The bed was exceptionally comfortable and I slept really well all week.

There did not appear to be many staff at evening meal, and when large coach party staying the staff were rushed off their feet,with the manager sat drinking and chatting (he could have assisted).

The staff were exceptional, always quick to look after you and good humoured.

Very pretty, chalet style, lots of flowers on balconies, nice views, quiet.

Our room had a reasonable view and balcony.

The view at the top is magnificent, and there are some mountain paths to follow, and you can watch the para gliders launching.

but had a nice large balcony with a nice mountain view.

The hotel is beautifully situated and has good transport links, including a short walk to the gondola which has the most amazing views.

Regrettably at the moment there is a new hotel being built right alongside
this hotel so our view was of a very large crane and building works from 7am in the morning.

Room warm, comfortable & clean with balcony & wonderful view of beginner slopes.

My sons had a lovely modern shower at the back of the hotel, we had a lovely view of the piste

Loads of wardrobe space and super views from balcony.

Outside I had a balcony with wonderful views of the mountain and the paragliders from the paragliding school next door.

Meals were good and we had a nice room with a spectacular view.

Plus point it overlooked the slopes and was large,

We were very happy with the room, which was spacious with lovely views, the food, which was traditional Tyrolean and 2 very entertaining musical evenings.

but use the bus, free with ski pass from Niederau to next resort Auffach as you can’t ski from one mountain to another.

The rooms were clean, beds cosy, hot water plentiful, and breakfasts and evening meals tasty and filling after a day on the slopes.

The pension is spotlessly clean and the beds are comfortable.

Beds are very comfy and showers are lovely and warm after a long day on the slopes.

After a hard day skiing, coming back to warmth, hot showers, comfortable beds and great food is ideal- and that is what the Enzian offers!

The food and service was excellent,   the beds were the most comfortable ever and duvets lovely and warm,  I would love to go back.

The rooms are very clean, with extremely comfortable beds, and duvets that allow you to get some fresh air into the room at night whilst staying warm underneath!!!

One of our two rooms even had bunk beds for the children.

Our room was large , light and spotless , towels were changed every second day , beds were very comfortable too.

Accommodation at the Enzian was very comfortable and our room 16 was spacious with good beds, powerful  shower and a large balcony overlooking the nursery slopes just across the road.

The rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable, shower was great with plenty of hot water, we faced the hills at the back which was a lovely view.

Very comfortable beds and cleaned each day.

This was our first time in this resort, our room (No 4) was very spacious with en-suite facilities and the most comfortable bed/s which have full memory foam mattresses (not toppers).

but clean and comfortable, we had very comfy twin beds put together which was fine.

The rooms were very clean with good powerful showers for after skiing.just be aware that the Austrian twin beds are basically two single mattresses on a double frame.I was sharing with my son, so I simply put one of the mattresses on the floor - there was just enough room.

The food was all home cooked and delicious.

At breakfast we would choose our evening dinner and ot was always a choice of 2 dishes which were home cooked by Martina and was 3 courses.

Evening meal was always plentiful and filling after a long day skiing usually with seconds of leftover chips, wedges or pasta.

Breakfast was excellent, with scrambled eggs and bacon every morning plus all the usual continental breakfast items and plenty of them.

Evening meal (3 courses) was also good and different every night (you make your choice in the morning over breakfast which is normal for Austria).

The rooms were kept tidy and clean by Tina (and some helpers) while we were having breakfast.

Breakfast again setting you up for the day.

Amazingly delicious dinner and breakfast fit for royalty.

And to top it all, they got up early (6am) to make sure we had breakfast before our early morning flight home.

That was great, we thought we might just get soup and a roll!

Breakfasts & Evening meals were very good.

Breakfast and dinner are good plain home cooking which satisfies you after a day on the slopes.

Breakfast was good bacon scrambled eggs rolls cold meats cheese cereals toast and more perfect for the start of the day the pink one (my 9 year old daughter) was very happy with the breakfast that's a first.

Breakfast was great and being able to choose your evening meal in the morning was really nice too.

Half board consisted of an all-you-can-eat cooked breakfast and a choice of 2 honest, home cooked meals as part of a 3 course menu in the evenings.

Plenty of variety at the buffet breakfasts, and lovely 3 course dinners .

Breakfast is a buffet , dinner you get 2 meals to chose from .

but delicious and apart from some bread with the soup starter, no issues and our children ate it all.

The Pension is clean, tidy, rooms are warm and comfortable, and there is a good ski room and boot/drying room.

We had an excellent week in the Pension Enzia in Niederau  with a very comfortable and clean room with balcony  .

Rooms were really good with plenty of towels, comfortable beds, balconies and new HD tv.

The accommodation was clean, comfortable and warm.

but very comfortable and a balcony with spectacular views of the mountains.

button lift opposite the Enzian which is ideal for a quieter place to practice or a quick ski to the main gondola.

Being close to the centre it is also close to the gondola (chair lift) that takes you up to several beautiful mountain walks.

button lift literally across the road and only a few minutes walk from everything thing else including bars, restaurants and bus stops.

button lift which can take you to the 4 man chair which takes you up the mountain.

button lift is just across the road linking you to the main slopes, with a bus stop ~200 meters to the left linking you to Auffach for a the linked ski area.

button lift and then ski gently across a couple of pisted nursery runs to the Markbachjoch gondola.

Lots of good walks in niederau  and free lifts.

button lift is only 1 minute walk from the hotel.

button lift which takes you up to ski around Niederau itself and a two minute walk to the Spar and the bus stop which takes you to the ski area of Auffach which is fantastic to ski.

The Enzian is also at a great location, with a blue slope with drag life directly opposite, from which you can ski down to the chair lift or the gondola to go up mountain.

but when you add in the other ski areas on the lift pass with easy access using the free ski bus it provides a varied and interesting range of challenges.

All in all we couldn't fault Pension Enzian and I think we will be back :-)

Dinner is at 6.30pm - a lot of Austrian hotels have set dinner times.

We requested two rooms next to each other which was accommodated and I also requested a vegetarian choice at meal times for myself which was also no problem.

The hotel is centrally located and rooms are well decorated and serviced on a regular basis, food is well prepared and well presented
