it often happens that the cards for entering the room stop working, and you have to go to the reception, which is not very close.

what did we have here:
1. did not get the room i ordered, they said upon arrival they do not have them available, after arguing 30 minutes they miracle had them available
2. order premium suite , the system did not indicated my their son , so they charged me an additional $1300 for an additional 5 year old son  and simply said that if I want they will cancel my order ( at 12 midnight with a family of 9 individuals in a foreign country )
3. my sister got harrats by a crew member at the hotel
4. premium is including restaurants at the evening for dinner

— Manipulative and rude staff charged us and extra $1700 to add 1 additional child to our room, and then refused to bring us a rollaway bed for the child to sleep on.

Premium level services offer free towel services without a towel card.

You do not need a card to get towels around the property.

but found the shops etc all don't take cash and want card and all Americans use USA $ so I'd say only take cash for Tips and use your card everywhere else.

When our plane landed back in Canada they actually ended up charging their credit card $4,000 USD!!.

The towel card is pointless, everything should be on the bracelet.

Another oddity is that even when the locks are on the doors the key cards can still open them.

My only complaint to management is - why do you charge so much for everything?

Tip that the gift shop in the Maya Mall does not except pesos only charge to your room or credit card.

The pirate water park was an additional charge unknown to us.

- Mall only takes credit card or credit on your room if prepaid (possibly if Premium also).

If there's a premium, then no need - it's also nothing special.

Not an all inclusive resort, water parks and other amenities had an extra cost.

I paid extra cash to guest services and magically got times scheduled.

It is recommended to organize cheap transportation to the downtown of Cancun and back, because taxis are too expensive and there is no other transportation.

Sunscreen is $90 US a bottle, I sh!t you not.

when I asked so what did I paid an additional $1400 the answer was the food ( same dinners we did not enjoy most of the nights.

The cost of adding a child listed on the website is only $350 total.

Not sure I want to pay premium level service if we're only able to reserve one night at a sit down restaurant.

Furthermore, let me say, we had no problem paying the cost for a room with two beds we were just told no.

It met our needs without being prohibitively expensive.

but is very isolated, you are over 1hr from the Cancun City so not easy to go anywhere as there's nothing else around apart from the Cenotes over the road which we did visit and HIGHLY recommend, cost was £7 pp and fills in a few hours.

This is a well known resort- several positives- resort and the rooms are kept very clean.

**Cleanliness:**
   - Impeccable room cleanliness with regular housekeeping services exceeding expectations.

Some of the rooms can use a better clean / update, and it would be nice to have a nighttime beach party worked into the event schedule.

Our room was kept clean which we appreciate very much.

Pool areas and spa and gym great, Our rooms were clean just a little outdated Overall the resort was nice just to big for our liking and lacking Air conditioned places to hang out at night.

Otherwise, our stay was really amazing - beautiful beach, delicious food, clean rooms, and attentive, kind staff.

The food was plentiful, the drinks were bottomless and the rooms were clean and safe.

I have spoken to your reception and all they sent me up was a cold plate of pasta for my son absolutely disgusting.

I've seen sewer rats run better motels than this dump.

I saw men in beach T-shirt’s, dirty ball caps, jeans, sweat pants, tennis shoes and one guy literally looked like he was getting ready to change someone’s car oil.

but keeping dolphins in a very small pool is disgusting.

We refused to stay in the first room they sent us to because it was in such bad shape (tap was broken and basically falling off and leaking all over the floor and the general state of the room was disgusting).

But not everything was to rave about:
The pool at CARIBE at least during our stay was very gross, so dirty with so much floating debris that your couldn't even see your feet.

Only complaint was the women's bathroom only had 2 working stalls and there was always a line and a smell and out of toilet paper several times.

The staff at the front desk weren’t great though, check in left a lot to be desired and our room had to be changed on day 2 because the first one smelt so badly of mould.

Even getting premium spirits won't help, the mixes are toxic tasting.

-It is humid in the rooms,  my clothes that were hanging in the closet lost their wrinkles and sheets felt damp.

7.If you smoke buy them before you get here.

The crepes Suzette were basically pancakes swimming in Grand Marnier, traditionally, crepes Suzette are served aflame to burn off the alcohol.

Make sure you bring all the toiletries you need as the gift store prices for suncreen were prohibitively expensive.

even though we paid over $600usd per night.

(After all, whether they fill 10 tables or 20, they’re paid the same.).

When I asked them to run it in pesos they often ran it in dollars with a horrific exchange rate.

This resort has nothing special going for it except less expensive than many.

The SPA is not free anymore, the restaurants became much worse, the Chic is for full price, the service is poorer etc.

Don't book thru the concierge of the spa, wait until a rep from the spa comes around the pool or beach, as the price was half of what the listed price is.

Lastly I was disappointed in restaurant closures that were not stated at time of booking or updated on hotel website so feel we lost some of the experiences and services we were expecting when booking a holiday of a lifetime at the price we paid.

SUMMARY
I would not come to this resort again if you paid me.

It would be better if the different hotels would be have more similar prices.

Will not return not worth the price and service is not good degenerate as the day past.very sad experience and would not recommend.

Extra costs for things that were once included now too.

Their service and attentiveness far exceeds that of the Grand Palladium White Sands resort and spa and the holiday will cost you less.

As far as all inclusive it’s not very when snacks where we were staying was unavailable, we were limited to only 2 different wines at dinner a merlot or charadany any other u had to pay.

The shop onsite is outrageously overpriced ripping guests off because they know you can’t just nip out to other shops.

In my experience a lot of resorts just pay lip service to the customer and deliver not a lot.

For the great rate we paid I could have overlooked it all having been to Mexico for dozens of times and been going for over 20 years in fact I got married there 18 years ago.

Plenty of drinks and not the cheap stuff either!!

but the pillows were stinking of dirty socks, the temperature was a bit hard to adjust and certain things within the room weren't working at their optimal . .

There’s an awful sewer smell along water basins.

The rooms smell humid, mattresses were terrible.

The water from the moat was very low, at times you could see the bottom and the smell coming off of it was absolutely foul.

It was VERY humid the week we were there, and there seemed to be a very slight musty smell in the room,

Throughout our stay, construction works were happening what i believe was the sceptic tank right next to our village/ room so the smell was horrible every time we would go out or come back to the room.

There was a strong sewage odour right outside our building that did not abate.

To top everything off, outside of our room smelled like a sewage leak.

All the cuts were burned, dry and it took around 10 minutes between each round.

- mini bar was inconsistently stocked 
- minor maintenance issues with the rooms like slow draining sink; toilet paper holder loose leading the TP falling on floor; random sewage smell occasionally coming from the hvac (it wasn’t oppressive); low shower pressure

I didn’t know resort food could be that nasty.

but in the other side of the room, it’s old and run down, smells bad, and it’s hot and humid.

When we got to our villa after a long walk and guessing where it was the room had a horrible smell of mold, the tub was dirty and AC wasn’t working.

Towards the tail end of our stay, the ponds were drying up so there was a strong sulfur smell.

Room was always clean and tidy - we’ve never stayed somewhere with a turn down service or have room service at no extra cost and helped make us feel extra spoilt.

She left the room spotless each day, even folding our night clothes and winding up our phone chargers.

Beautiful and clean rooms with plenty of space two free bottles of your choice of liquor or wine.

Our priorities are the quality of food, comfort & cleanliness of our room (resort facilities as well), and having a nice beach.

The rooms are clean,  beautifully decorated, and a nice size.

The maid(s) always did a great job keeping the room tidy and clean, and the nightly turn down service to get you ready for bed was a nice add-on.

The Room-
We stayed in block 69 it did have a musty smell about it, not sure what it is it did not seem to go either whilst we were there, our room had the jacuzzi on the balcony

As it is in most humid places, the pillows and sheets smelled moldy/sour.

The room had a terrible smell and we experienced a power outage twice!

The rooms with the jacuzzi do not have a damp (I use that word lightly no rooms has a bad smell) smell at all they are probably the better condition of the rooms especially top floor the room cleaning and turn down was always perfect .

Would I class it as a 5* hotel definitely not more like 3.5 at a push, room was musty and damp and really smelt, everything looked a bit tired, food was hit and miss, some restaurants were better than others, wine was awful unless you pay more for better wine.

Your basket will consist of stale bread and cold unseasoned steak slices.

This room had no issues with smells or allergy triggers,

Great experience would go agian ,but I wouldn't get the pool suite next time due to the fowl smell coming from the standing water by our room and the cart guys that pick you up if you weren't from their hotel like Colonial they wouldn't take anywhere I would have to wait for an TRS buggy.

The only downfall was a strong smell of drains in our room and the attitude of a male receptionist at Zentropia…we were hardly ever in the room so decided not to complain and for the receptionist…hmm let’s just assume he had a bad day.

People were smoking at the sun loungers and even in the pool despite there being a non smoking policy.

We were on honeymoon so it was about relaxing, last two days was slightly impacted  by next door smoking drugs on the balcony & partying all night.

This was a hard no for them and they also wanted to charge us an extra $50 per person to wait in their lobby till our taxi came????

Starting from being charged an extra $1400 in “fees” to my Oceanview room located in the family section, which I specifically made sure I didn’t book the family oceanview room so that I would not be near all of the play structures and noisy kid pool.

However, upon my 6th trip to Mexico, I have had the absolute WORST experience ever- enough to have me change my primary credit card to Marriott & forget Hilton (Along with leaving reviews on Google, Trip Advisor and every other platform known to man)  
We arrived at the Hilton Tulum All Inclusive for our 5 night stay in our 2 rooms, 1 king, 1 two queens at approximately 4:30 PM.

I hated having to take a golf card every time we left our room🤦‍♀️ we had three private parties and the food was never good.

Also we were charged for a king room not the Queen!

They wanted to charge us $285.00 one way to our hotel.

To start I was charged for an ocean view room.

My only complaint is that whoever is in charge of the beach doesn’t clean the seaweed which smells very bad especially around casa 3 and 4.

They also failed to mention that the wrist band that they put on, if lost you will incur a $150 USD charge which is insane!

Every guest we spoke with were equally disappointed.

Guests are greeted with stylish, modern decor, billed as “eco chic.” Neutral tones, woods line the walls.

If you use AMEX, they only do transactions in pesos and round up on the exchange rate.

You get charged for wine and Tequila..The place is so spread out that unless you pay an up charge to be in  casa 1 or casa 2 you will spend your time on a golf cart or waiting for one to take you from one place to another.

Oh, and most menu items are a charge, not included. Rooms.

I also left the card on the pillow to indicate changing sheets is requested.

I mean exceptional customer service, checking in was a mess because stupidly I forgot to alert my bank I'd be traveling, so my card keep getting declined,

but Raymundo continued to swipe the CC, even using multiple Card Swipers.

but this hotel makes its money through the extra charge stuff.

I have dispute filed with Visa which I should win

The transport was ridiculously expensive with rather aggressive drivers following us around the exit area.

Try to rent a car , the taxi is crazy expensive!

but they are expensive relative to the short distances so try to get a car if you can (will pay for itself if you're flying in/out of Cancun).

however, we paid for a partial ocean view room and had no ocean view.

We paid an extra fee and rented seating near the stage.

It's not worth the money you will pay and there are much better places in Mexico to stay.

I tried for 10 days prior to trip with no solution on the fees.

The excuse from the staff seems to be 'we are fully booked' whereas our sentiment is we paid a lot of money to be here this week; we don't expect less!

Paid full price for a stay that lacked basic services despite me patiently reporting the issues to the resort several times.

They all work so hard and I hope that they are being paid well.

If you want premium, you have to pay the $100 per  person for upgraded food and drinks.

You will need it

This is the one resort to avoid in Mexico at all costs

Why would I pay that when I can pay a fraction of that when I go home in a week?

For the price we would expect higher quality and a chance to try one of these „famous“ restaurants.

I would never stay here again especially for what you pay and the service you get.

but there are no upgrades unless you pay for the Enclave level.

The hotel is 25 min from downtown Tulum and taxis are very expensive so if you want to leave the hotel to experience quality food be prepared to leave and spend.

I would not recommend anyone to go back to this property, you pay for what you get.

It is difficult to find fairly priced taxis as the hotel adds commission to the price.
