But can't comment on the double sized rooms.

Apart from the generosity of the hotel chain, I feel compelled to comment on the customer service.

We didn’t eat breakfast so cannot comment on that.

We had a wonderful time in London, made comfortable by staying at The Resident in Covent Garden.

We decided to stay at the Resident Covent Garden whilst visiting London for 5 days.

Best of all is the neighborhood, around the corner from Covent Garden Market and a short walk from the National Gallery, shops, restaurants, and other attractions.

The RESIDENT is a top notch place to stay in London’s Covent Garden.

It's within 10-20 minutes walking distance of so many central London locations: Covent Garden, St. Martin in the Fields, The National Gallery, The Mall, Buckingham Palace, Parliament, The Thames, Victoria Embankment, Piccadilly Circus, The British Museum, The Courtauld Gallery, plenty of theaters, and a ton of restaurants  and pubs.

We loved the ease of getting to this hotel from either the Leicester Square or Covent Garden tube stations.

Within walking distance of Covent Garden shopping, dozens of pubs and restaurants, the London Eye, House of Parliament and Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery (free of charge to see Van Gogh, Monet and many others), as well as theatres with some of the most recent shows.

Hotel location was nearly perfect in the center of Covent garden great restaurants around and a great coffee shop right next door.

in addition it is a great location, on the Strand in Covent Garden, near Mayfair, Charring Cross Station and the subway.

I stayed two nights at the resident covent garden hotel during my business trip to London with my office colleagues.

It’s perfect for going to the theatre, getting to the underground, restaurants, cafes and shops and in easy walking distance of Covent garden etc.

The location for The Resident Covent Garden turned out to be absolutely perfect!

Enjoyed walking around Covent Garden and seeing all the beautiful flowers everywhere.

The room we found was a bit dark for us as they use primarily mood lighting.

The one downside was that our room on the 4th floor was under the eaves and the room has a sloping roof - I got up in the night when it was dark and hit my head hard on the overhang.

First off, the lighting in the room after dark leaves something to be desired as it is very dim.

- Everyone of them are amazing, so, can't really pinpoint one or two staff member

- Both rooms are great is size, and so is the toilet
- However if you're sensitive to sleeping in dark, it might not be the best room for you.

The location is excellent, easy access to the tube, so many restaurants and pubs to choose and we enjoyed exploring Coventry Gardens and the Theatre District.

The location is ideal, the staff is friendly and accommodating and the rooms are modern-chic, clean and very comfortable.

The hotel is very centrally and conveniently located to lots of the main theatres and shopping districts and the team seemed genuinely interested in what we were going to be doing that weekend.

Stayed total of 12 days at hotel & enjoyed our stay very much as location is so convenient with all the theatres nearby.

Our room was spotless, room service was simply superb, and we slept like logs.

A warm welcome with Prosecco, fantastic customer care, the best rooftop bar in town and the cleanest, most comfortable rooms.

The staff was friendly and professional, the property was spotless and the location can’t be beat.

The rooms are incredibly clean and well kept, the hotel facilities are great, and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, especially Roul and team.

Our room was absolutely stunning, very spacious and clean!

The room was large, modern, clean and contained everything we required for our stay.

We had a half hour slot in the jacuzzi and also enjoyed a drink in the rooftop bar Aviary, with the most incredible views, before heading to Covent Garden for dinner and then enjoyed a beautiful breakfast here the following morning.

You can't get straight onto the tube or catch a bus and be at London bridge or covent garden within no time.

The breakfast is nice and many kinds of food.

Excellent place to stay, lovely room and the food was superb.

It has very nice sofa's, an awesome view, very good food and tasty cocktails.

The views and decor was gorgeous and the Aviary restaurant had the most beautiful decor and bird decorations.

Shoutout to the bar staff for making me banging cocktails.

We visited the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room as well as eating dinner at the average and even enjoying breakfast in bed after waking up in the morning.

The best part of this hotel was the roof top bar where we enjoyed some truly delicious cocktails while looking out over London.

Great service in the aviary for food and drinks too.

The food was amazing and the rooftop bar is the best.

Whilst we was staying I ordered room service and it was very quick and efficient and we was greeted by a lovely member of staff.

We had the continental breakfast in the upstairs retaurant which was delicious, there was a wide selection of food and pastries.

Do pop up to the Aviary restaurant on the rooftop before or after your visit.

We enjoyed the spa area, the food waiting for us in the room straight after and of course the birthday decoration the cake and wine!

The spa was an added bonus along with the rooftop bar, the food and drink of which were exceptional.

Greeted at the door, bags taken off us, offers of a seat, drinks, escorted to the room, complimentary water and wine in including balloons and petals on the bed for a special birthday.

The room was spacious and kitted out with everything we needed for our short stay (coffee machine, hair dryer and iron).

Mary then kindly showed us up to our room where our bed was scattered with rose petals and balloons.

We arrived to drinks and macaroons and taken up to our room with a free upgrade of floor to ceiling windows.

I then had a lovely woman called Sara who helped me to my room, showed me how everything works and she was super kind and helpful.

The rooms are awesome with beautiful views and well to equipped and the breakfast was top class.

Not one rude member of staff all so lovely!

The staff were rude and no customer service except two staff Alex and Sophia who went extra miles and did not follow the trend of rudeness of the hotel.

A manager in the  bar gave out to us and was extremely rude for sitting in seats that she had reserved

Only problems were a very rude Bar Manage in the downstairs lobby bar and the pool booking for children rules and the fact that the rules are not communicated in advance or consistently applied to all guests.

It was so funny people watching whilst we were drinking our coffee & watching the normal members of public booking in, in such a rush & sometimes rude why I’ll never know!!

An hour for a cup of tea.. All the staff are so rude.

However, she failed to mention that changing facilities were not available, and then when we arrived for a booked slot at the spa, the lady at the spa reception was rather rude to us because we did not have/were wearing the gowns and towels that apparently were provided in the rooms.

It was a bit slow, and made weird noises a few times,

Drink prices far too high & roof top staff very slow to serve

It was busy because of Bank Holiday so the service in the club lounge was slow

but the electronic touch screen to control air con and lighting was slow and unresponsive.

We found that the screen was also very slow to respond, taking away from the luxury feel of the hotel.

Only slight criticism was the slow service during our Igloo experience.

Also, there was a few Stains on the carpet which we didn't expect for a 4 star hotel,

Housekeeping services my room was always spotless, I’m OCD so I would do my own little checks and just one night  out of 7 nights I had to point out minor stains on the bedding, when I mentioned it.

but the room provided was dirty - large stain on the bedsheet, dust from the aircon vent stuck to the wall, hairs in the bathroom and chair in the main room and also an assortment of small debris in the bed itself.

Everything looked a bit old, paint was scraped off several places, cabinet doors didnt close properly, carpet had stains and so did the bathroom.

The room would score a 4/5 on cleanliness, there were some dusty surfaces and a sticky stain on the leather chair, the carpet needs a deep hoover as the fibres get on everything.

We stayed here for a weekend upon arrival we were given a dirty room which smelt of urine and sweat and had urine stains in the bathroom.

Bath robe has make up stain on the collar.

Photos show stain on wall, that furniture was broken and draw would only stay shut with paper in it, the curtains didn’t close properly and there was a ladies underwear sanitary sticker left stuck in some furniture.

We stayed in a club room and whilst spacious, there were stains on the carpet and a general run down feel to the place.

A lovely hotel, with a fantastic location close to the theatres, Covent Garden and Oxford street.

The location is fantastic for central London, v close to Soho, Oxford St, Covent Garden and the West End.

Easy walk around Soho, Covent Garden & surrounding area.

From there, the main tourist attractions are within easy walking distance - the National Gallery, the Palace of Westminster, Buckingham Palace, the Embankment, the British Museum, Covent Garden, you name it.

The location is perfect for popping into Soho, Covent Garden and beyond.

You can reach Oxford Street, Covent Garden, China Town and Picadilly Circus in a few minutes by walking.

My new favourite hotel chain

This is our second stay with Resident Hotels having stayed at the Covent Garden branch in February.

Also in walking distance to Covent Garden.

This hotel is centrally located within walking distance of Piccadilly, the West End and Covent Garden.

Convenient for plenty of food options & close to Leicester Square, China Town, Covent Garden.

We stayed for one night wanting to be able to walk soho, Covent Garden and Oxford street.

Staff were very friendly and attentive, location was perfect so close to Oxford Street and Covent Garden very easier to access tourist and shopping hot spots.

Easy access to everything Soho or even Covent garden and the surrounding area has to offer.

So close to everything , Oxford St , China Town, Covent Garden & Seven Dials .

The location was amazing, you can easily walk to China town, Leicester Square, Covent Garden and its right by Oxford street, it couldn't have been more perfect, so much so we have booked the Victoria Resident and the Covent Garden Resident for our next 2 trips to London.

Easy access from Soho, Leicester Square, Picadilly and Covent Garden.

2 minutes walk to Oxford St and only 10 minutes to Covent Garden, Leicester Square etc.

The Hotel is in the middle of the city, and an easy walk to the British Museum, Oxford Street and Covent Garden etc.

We had a one night stay in London so wanted a location close to Soho, Oxford Street and Covent Garden and this hotel was perfect for that.

It's close to all the incredible restaurants and cafes that Soho has to offer as well as easy walking distance to Covent Garden and Oxford Street (As well as parks and everything else Central London has to offer).

Disappointed that there was no window view for the cost, just a cramped weird courtyard on the basement level, so the room was dark and kind of gloomy The complementary cocktail hour was nice

I would also say that the hotel is very dark.

We had a ground floor room which was far too dark. It was in an absolute nightmare when getting ready (this is why I only gave 4 stars)

but not too late….. definitely would benefit from black out blinds or curtains for those of us who like the dark but that’s the only mild negative 😊

The rooms were a little small for what we paid and very dark not much day light getting in at all, the bed was really comfortable and our room very quiet.

For proper sleep I need to be able to make the room completely 100% dark.

Upon check in we were disappointed in our small room, down a dark hallway in the back of the hotel, two rooms experienced street/pub noise. .

But the rooms themselves (I saw 2 of them - quite identical) are very small and dark.

Unfortunately the only mirror for hair drying was on the inside of the wardrobe door and even when opened wide, it was quite dark.

We found the room way too dark and thus it appeared small.

However, the room we stayed in on the ground floor was very dark (walls on 3 sides of the window and no direct sunlight) and there was no way to open the window and get some fresh air in.

It was a bit dark (fine for reading in bed, just harder to see what's in your suitcase).

No restaurant in the hotel which usually wouldn't be an issue

but did not bother us: no restaurant in hotel (but you can collect drinks and snacks at reception), Soho Square nearby slightly seedy at night time, no view from room and difficult access for taxis because of lots of small oneway streets.

Breakfast at the hotel is only in room service.

but really, in London, who wants to eat in a hotel.

While there isn't a traditional restaurant in the hotel, this was never an issue for me as fresh breakfast was brought directly to my room at the exact time I had requested it.

but also a micro-wave for heating  up food, and a small washing up sink with basic dishes and cutlery available so you could bring back food to eat in the room, 

There is no restaurant in the hotel which is a smart strategy as there are so many cafes nearby that offer wonderful breakfasts - but they do offer continental breakfasts that can be brought by room service.

No restaurant at the hotel (though they do offer breakfast room service, which we didn't end up using)

I saw some people's comments about no restaurant in the hotel.

And there's no reason to have a restaurant in a hotel in Soho!
