This basement room was small with a tiny bathroom.

For bigger people it will be difficult to go to the toilet or douche cabin.

We took a room with a bathroom in it, small

Beware that many rooms do not have a bathroom, and those that do, the bathroom is the size of a small closet.

Small bar of soap and wall-mounted shower gel provided plus a decent hand-towel and bath mat.

I have to say I have never in my 62 years been in a smaller bathroom.

Bed was comfy, only gripe was the shower was bit of a squeeze.

I tripped and stubbed my toes the first few times and I was afraid I'd trip and fall exiting the bathroom if I forgot to step down.

but well equipped  , with a toilet and shower in two further small rooms .

On arrival we found out we had a shared bathroom, this was NOT stated on the booking whatsoever!!

Only downside was the size of the bathroom- it was quite crammed.

It did mean I had to leave the shower room door open to manoeuvre to dry myself.

but the downside was the crazy interior plan - the shower was in one tiny room, the bathroom in another, the mirror someplace else and the sink for brushing your teeth and washing your hands was inside the bedroom.

but did have a small basin in the corner.

Water pressure in bathroom was too low for a decent shower.

Bathroom outside the room so you may need to wait for shower.

I would definitely recommend if you're comfortable with a Queen bed with four feet on all sides.

There were two single beds that were very comfortable.

Stayed for one night as I was attending a seminar at King's Place close to King's Cross.

The Alhambra is a cute hotel located just a half block from Kings Cross train station.

but this is due to the location near to 
King's Cross St. Pancras station.

I prefer to stay around the Kings Cross stroke Bloomsbury area which I have on many occasions as I find it a great base for striking out on the tourist trail, with Kings Cross being handy for the buses and tube.

On the plus side the bed had lots of places where you could tie restraints to it - this made for a fun evening for us.

Being a tall lad the single bed was perfect even with my Giraffe proportioned legs.

The hotel is very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the WiFi very fast.

This is a small hotel located a short walk to the St Pancras train station and King's Cross underground.

Hard to beat location only 2 min walk to St Pancreas International Station and 5 min walk to Kings Cross Station.

It is conveniently located on a quiet alley that is a mere four minute walk to the King's Cross subway station.

This hotel is a stone’s throw from Kings Cross station, down a quiet side street.

Perfectly located for Kings Cross station, directly opposite a tube stop of you want to use it as a hotel to see a few sights along the underground.

Everything was immaculately clean , the bed was very comfortable, and the bed linen was of very high quality .

This B&B is visibly smarter and classier than the many others on the same street, and literally two mins walk from Kings Cross St Pancras - on the road bang opposite.

Not a problem, there is a well known pub chain in St Pancras station which opens at 9am for all day breakfast.

Prices are reasonable (considering breakfast is included).

Take the 8.54am to Calais and you’ll have time to enjoy the awesome breakfast buffet at this great accommodation.

We had a fine stay here — the place is tidy, the service attentive, the location exquisite, the breakfast fine if not outstanding.

Breakfast from 7 to 9 was far too restrictive for a family holiday - missed it each morning of a three-night pre-booked stay.

We were close enough to Covent Garden to walk there and back in the afternoon, which was great.

It's literally next door ro St Pancras international, and within walking distance of all sorts of places of interest (Camden lock to the north, the British library, the British Museum, Covent Garden, etc.

You can even walk to Regent's park or to Camden market, to Covent Garden and Soho.

The hotel is also very convenient to the Tube and I quickly got to Covent Garden to meet friends for drinks and dinner.

An email awaited me later asking for description and photos of the charger, followed before I had a chance to answer with another to say it had been found and please to let them have a card number to cover the return postage (which I called in the following morning).

He needed to charge his phone and without that adapter he would have been greatly inconvenienced.

You can use your pre-loaded Oyster Card, the same as you would for the Tube, and it’s only £ 8.10 (single fare) to Gatwick.

but had to be put through as 3 separate transactions which was quite annoying.

The well known international booking agency I used (and use about twice each week without this problem - ever) will only provide a confirmation of the total paid and not show a VAT compliant invoice.

When you book they take 1 pound without notice and 1 week before the date they took all the amount saying they have preauthorization on your card and waiting for the bank approval, it wasn't nice since we can cancel 4 days without notice or penalty.

Book this room and put the extra money on your oyster card.

Please note that the hotel applies a 3% surcharge if you pay by credit card.

They charge an extra 3% if you use a credit card.

though charged 3% extra to pay by credit (rather than debit) card.

They receptionist charged my a much higher amount than it said on booking, caused by currency exchange.

Charged twice for my stay due to error - hopefully get this sorted asap.

Two problems - after arriving we were told that the agreed fare was for cash and if paid by credit it was more expensive.

We were given a laminated card with our room number on and told to put our luggage in the breakfast room in a bit at the bottom of the stairs with the card on top.

even though the check in time was in the afternoon without additional charges.

but elected to pay cash to avoid the 3% surcharge.

The hotel wanted to be paid in cash or there would be a surcharge for a credit card, this we had not come across since south america.

19th cent gentrified houses turned into hotels down the street with quaint narrow corridors.

Further, I could not reach the wardrobe hangers, they have been placed too high. Access to the rooms is extremely difficult - steep narrow stairs and impossibly narrow corridors and (fire?)

We were on the top floor, which was hard to access along tiny corridors and the room had a 3/4 bed, and there was hardly enough room to move in the room.

Be prepared--the hotel common areas, hallways, and rooms are very, very small.

The rooms are very, very small and it is difficult to manoeuvre luggage in narrow corridors and staircases.

The corridors are a little tight for space if you are carrying luggage and note that there is no elevator,

An unusual room with a door into a small hallway, a separate toilet, a separate shower and another door through to three single beds where the basin is also situated.

The hotel corridors are narrow and a lot of steps so not very good if your mobility is limited.

True, the corridors are narrow, the rooms are small and there is no lift.

Somewhat typical for London in this price range: .three floors up, no lift..shared bathroom down the hall, tiny bed for two.

The toilet was down the hall and the door right in front of your face when you closed it.

Corridors and the staircase is very narrow.

You can hear your neighbors talking in their rooms, doors opening and closing, being locked and unopened and people walking in the halls.

The Alhambra earns our five-star rating by ticking all the boxes: perfect location near St. Pancras/King's Cross rail stations; comfortable, clean, and well-maintained; friendly and helpful staff; convenient amenities including taxis arranged to and from the airports and discount tour tickets; and reasonable rates.

Can’t say enough about the staff, especially since I messed up big time.

But it was clean, there was a small desk and an OK sized bathroom, so basically you don't need more.

It is well decorated, spotlessly clean and all staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff were all really friendly and chatty, asking my kids if they enjoyed Paris etc.

but prefer a bath and the refurbished rooms seem to be all showers now, breakfast good, just back and already booked for my next stay.

Breakfast has a good array of choices and the tables are cleared quickly and efficiently.

Booking directly via hotel website got me a superb price (£130 per night, excluding breakfast).

We had dinner at the bar , the burgers are delicious.

I chose this hotel for its included breakfast and central location.

Upsides….. Nice breakfast and a pretty good location.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, the receptionists helpful, and there is a very good breakfast buffet.

even though since it’s been refurbished you don’t get breakfast included in the price..you now pay extra..all in all it’s a good hotel..well situated for the rail links and the tube into London.

our breakfast was no better, I changed my fork 4 times as they were covered in stains, the breakfast was either cold or burnt, safe to say we won’t be returning to this hotel in London

but hot food was cold basically room temperature which ruined my stay as cold baked beans and cold eggs are a bad start to any day

Very disappointing, most other hotels provide at least croissants and cheeses or cold meats and fresh fruit .shame on you president  the full English looked good and I could have paid extra for this

All in all, I would still stay here.

By staying at the hotel, our complimentary breakfast was cold cereal and toast.

Baring in mind this weekend was around 30degrees,  there was no air con or available fans anywhere or anywhere to keep drinks cold.

I wonder what people in England use to blow their noses in the horrible cold and damp season, especially worse for tourist that came from Italy and France where it was hot and beautiful.

But the whole hotel looks old like it haven’t been refurbished since 1960, it looks like something from the Cold War.

I mean that there was a sink for the cold water and another one for the hot.

My only concern is the breakfast, it needs to be hot, we were concerned that it was a bit cold.

Buffet breakfast was cold on the first day and lukewarm on the second.

The location is excellent for Covent Garden, Soho and the West End as well as Kings Cross station.

Second time stopping here, so close to St Pancras, and easy access to covent garden and the west end for a show.

Good Location, easy access to Covent Garden(20Min Walk)   2 mins to Russel Sq Tube Station.

The hotel is located near Russell Square, which is 10 min walk from Covent Garden, very central location.

It takes around 15 minutes to walk to Covent Garden.

We chose this hotel situated in Bloomsbury as it was really handy for the Underground and easy walking to Covent Garden and Euston station.

An undergraound station is very close so access to Covent Garden / West End is very easy.

The hotel is in a good location in terms of access to both the City and West End as well as British Museum and Covent Garden.

Hotel very close to Russel Square tube so minutes away from Covent Garden or Piccadilly Circus, or walking distance to the British museum.

but is also a pleasant stroll to Covent Garden,   we took advantage of the evening meal which is part of a two night minimum  stay, the Atrium bar is a great place to relax and have a pre or post dinner drink --- and prices are again we think not the usual expensive London prices, yes we'll  be back

Minutes away from Euston, Natural History Museum, Aldwich, ( theatre land), local buses to Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, etc.

The hotel is right outside Russell Square Station and a 20 minute walk to Covent Garden.

Convenient for tube ,hospitals and not a long walk for Covent Garden and British Museum.

The staff were very friendly throughout and the hotel was a handy for accessing Covent Garden and local areas for business

Hotel is walking distance from British Museum, Covent Garden, Soho, Oxford Circus and others.

The hotel is 2 stops from Covent Garden on the tube,.

First time staying in the hotel.. quick check in.. nice room.. clean.. comfortable bed.. good food.. bar area good.. staff friendly and efficient.. as a base to visit London it's perfect.. great location for Kings Cross.. Covent garden and round the corner from tube

Also considering that the room was not cleaned the whole day while a please clean my room request was on the door.

Sure enough, a camp bed arrived, converting a small twin room into a crowded 3-bed room, so crowded in fact the wardrobe doors couldn’t be opened.

The doors have an automatic closing system and the knocks are not avoided by the cleaning staff, causing ''door slamming'' that make it impossible for those who need to rest to sleep. Unfortunate.

however, someone in the room next door having some sort of bronchitis attack or something and the constant cough was a) loud and b)  stomach churning.

I opened the door (room 611) to the terrible smell of stale sweat.

Maintenance need to fit soft closes in the door as all night you hear doors slamming 
The corridors and carpets need a revamp likewise bedrooms 

BREAKFAST - Excellent choice of food

but walls are thin so the snoring and voices from next door was very easy to hear.

The bathroom was tiny, as they had to fit a bath tub in there, which resulted in almost no space to move around and the toilet was right inside the door so you were squeezed up next to the wall, which wasn't really nice.

Rooms are small and noisy; you can hear everything in the room next door.

To turn this Ito a very good hotel would only need a few additions, ie a box of tissues, hooks on the bathroom door to hang things, and most importantly a grab handle over the bath, this is a safety issue.

We were asleep so no time to get to the door and they just started coming in!

Easy check In/out, no safe minibar,  bed uncomfortable we had to change room as the 1st one smelt like bad b.o, very noisy walls/front door very thin!

Never again would I walk through their door.

Only negative on the hotel was the when the room doors were being closed they were banging loud as we discovered one morning when Italian tourists were leaving around 7.45am.

Also I observed one of the maids get into the lift with me with a toilet brush in a belt holster, while riding the lift up she was checking on her phone and unknowingly the toilet brush was rubbing the walls and door of the lift!

The shower curtain was discoloured and there was marks all over the doors.

The mattress has springs sticking out of it, there was vomit left on our room door and the cleaners had left my parents bin rubbish in our room.

I booked this hotel in error, thinking I was booking its sister hotel next door, the Imperial.

As I returned to the room a member of staff saw me and I asked if he would stand in the hallway and hear first hand the racket.

The corridors etc were dated and needed a pit of a spruce up,

but be aware the the rooms and upper hallways are not quite as modern.

Corridors to the room was a little dated and corners of the walls with chunks missing from being knocked over and over .

The corridors remind us of the shining !!!

Decor looks very tired and dated in the corridors outside bedrooms.
