I had booked this hotel and flights altogether with British Airways Holidays and the room included was ‘standard double’ with breakfast included.

There’s a lot to like about this traditional British hotel—top of the list is location: it’s directly across the street from the Victoria and Albert Museum (which is right next door to the Natural History Museum) and just around the corner from the Underground. The Big Bus tour stops right in front and there’s a bunch of good local restaurants (we liked Thai Square and  Comptor Libinais in particular.)

If I stay in London, I want a place that feels like I'm in London, cozy & comfortable with a British breakfast and Sherperd's Pie for dinner with the most polite & helpful staff at all times.

However The Rembrandt offers everything what is considered quality and oldfashioned British in its best sence.

I booked the hotel as part of British Airways vacation.

breakfast was nice with good british and Continental selections.

I highly recommend this hotel if you want to be close to V and A museum, Harrod’s or the British Museum of Natural History.

The conservatory is "so British" and so comfortable.

Wifi was a strong signal all the time and the TV available was a good selection of British TV channels.

We picked this hotel on a recommendation from British Airways.

I'm sure aswell that the price has gone up for the spa facilities.

but I got enough exercise walking around.

First of all, the hotel lied about the fact that the hotel own and sets the gym policy.

Easy check-in,very clean room and facilities,excellent breakfast,great bar service,and helpful personnel.

Room 247 looks newly renovated with ** non- slip** flooring & wet room facilities so top marks!

The room itself was a standard double room with a very comfortable bed, wardrobe, safe, tea/coffee making facilities, and a fridge with a free bottle of water.

but I would contact the hotel first to make sure that the facilities they are offering are indeed available.

Restaurant and snack facilities were good, especially with the breakfast variety.

They have a pool and gym to use at £10 per session.

There was a large TV, safe, tea/coffee making facilities and the room was clean.

Bedrooms are comfortable, nice warm powerful shower, great iron, safe, tea & coffee making facilities.

The hotel itself is always immaculately presented and the room facilities are second to none.

Then I swam, steamed and saunaed having the facilites practically all to myself.

Our ‘Grand King’ room and bathroom were well equipped and intelligently designed, with especially good lighting.

We have not used the spa or gym facilities as yet.

However looks and facilities aside, the location was superb for us with the museums on the doorstep, a quick walk to the RAH and a very good selection of restaurants nearby.

My fitness room in my basement has more to offer.

Very comfortable 6 foot bed, room and bathroom well equipped and well presented.

Location very good for Science and Natural History museums and across the road from V&A.

Right across the street from one museum and a five minute walk to two more.

The location is excellent, at least for a ‘cultural’ visitor – at the W edge of Knightsbridge, close to key museums and a short bus or Underground journey to many others, the theatre district and Mayfair.

We particularly appreciated the location in South Kensington, across from two major museums and with a bus stop a few yards away from the entry.

The only saving grace is the location, which is ideal for the museums and the Knightsbridge shops.

Very close to museums and Harrods and not too far from Hyde Park and underground station.

This hotel is in a great location, a 5 minute walk to the nearest tube, 2 minute walk to two museums, a 10 minute walk to Harrods.

Excellent value and service in a wonderful location opposite the V&A Museum. Beds comfortable, shower water pressure the best I have ever experienced (and I lived in the US for 30 years.)

Across from the V&A Museum; you can walk to Harrods, Kensington Gardens, and multiple other museums and sites.

Also a great location accross from the Victoria & Albert Museum.

Awesome location close to the S Kensington tube stop and immediately across from the V&A Museum.

Breakfast was good plentiful and fresh, location is great absolutely across the road from museums and a 5 minute walk from the tube, on reflection would I recommend this hotel to family and friends then because of the room issue the answer would be no

Location was terrific, right across from the beautiful Victoria and Albert's Museum, the Park, 30-min nice stroll to Buckingham, etc.

The Rembrandt is a lovely hotel so convenient for all the museums, Imperial College and the Royal Albert Hall (and Harrods too if that's your thing!)

I stayed at the Rembrandt Hotel for 2 nights over New Year 
The Hotel is situated opposite the Victoria & Albert Museum in South Kensington and is a two minute walk from the Tube station.

Location is only a few minutes walk from the Tube (Piccadilly Line with easy access to Heathrow and St Pancras for train to France etc), Harrods, Natural History Museum and V&A.

I booked a room here for Friday 18th for myself and my 4 yr old son so we could visit the natural history museum.

The hotel has a great location - literally across the road from the V&A and Natural History Museum.

The V&A is across the street and the Natural History Museum is next to that.

Location is great  if your going to V&A,Science Museum,Natural History Museum ,Royal Albert Hall and Kensington High Street  or Kensington Palace .

The location is fantastic with Harrods, the V&A and the natural history museum just a short walk away.

The Receptionist very kindly let us put us bags in their baggage room before our room was ready so we could go to the Natural History Museum.

Wonderful hotel - staff friendly and just a stone’s throw away from the Natural History Museum and Science Museum, which is why we chose it.

This hotel has a great location: a short walk from South Ken tube station and Harrods, opposite the V&A museum, 2 minutes from the Natural History museum. Nice clean room, good cleaning each day, good breakfast in well run breakfast room ( used plates etc removed directly)

It is across the street from the V & A Museum, about a 5-minute walk from the Natural History Museum, Royal Albert Hall, and South Kensington Station.

Have been recommending the dining experience to friends since eg: if visiting the V&A, Natural History museum etc etc.

I brought my younger brother for his 21st to head to the natural history museum.

It is located directly across the street from the Victoria and Albert museum and very near the Natural History Museum.

Our room was beautiful, the location is absolutely perfect with the V&A museum and Natural history museum directly opposite.

The hotel location was great for us, just cross the street of the V&A and Natural history museum.

The location is excellent, close to Sourh Kensington tube stop, the Royal Albert Hall and the Natural History Museum.

But this time it was really disappointing each time (at 8:30) – a buffet with no visible staff, low quality juice, poor choice of fruit, stale croissants, grey lukewarm scrambled egg, too many items offered packaged (but at least the Americano coffee was good).

Every part of the breakfast is self-service - and a ‘poor man Premier Inn’.

i have (still a guest at the hotel at the time of this reiew) made my booking for 20 days at this hotel and had faced lots of poor service,
well to start with my list 
rooms are too small
no dentel hygene kits
no drinking water provied (but for a fee which is £5)
and the worst part is when i wanted to connect my Apple Tv.

The food in the bar was average - the service was terrible- lazy and disinterested 

The breakfast was poor - coffee terrible and staff awful.

I stay in hotels for business & holidays .. I’ve never experienced such poor service for residents of a hotel.. £350 a night and no bar disgraceful !!

but I did think it was rather poor, 4 little finger sandwiches, egg, smoked salmon, ham, cucumber, quite possibly made for one slice of bread or may be one and a half.

Never have I been to a hotel this disgusting with such poor hygiene - and this is during a pandemic!!

Very poor communication to their guests about maintenance or things happening at the hotel.

Stayed here as a cheap break I wished I had booked somewhere else, customer service is very poor and guests are treated with little respect.

What really disappointed us was what we experienced on the 3 mornings we came for Breakfast (it's my own favourite "Treat Meal" when we're away from Home) : poor handling as you "Wait to be Seated", dishes not topped-up (one Fruit Salad bowl remained empty for all of one hour!

The cake selection was poor it was either carrot cake or a cream slice which looked like they had seen better days.

It is a shame I have to give the hotel such a poor review.

We also experienced poor service in the bar area where staff seemed to be uncoordinated and didn’t respond to our request for service in a timely way.

There needs to be more waiting staff  at peak times as on both evening(Fri &Sat) the poor single server couldn’t keep up with demand.

Why are UK hotels and particularly those in London so poor.

I have travelled worldwide and I’m astonished that hotels of the Rembrandt’ standard and category can get away with charging so much money for a room , whilst offering poor quality in terms of comfort and no customer service to their clients.

The sevice in the bar area was very poor.

Have stayed many times before and as ever, the staff were great, one or two even remembered me, the room was spotless and the breakfast was all you could ask for.

Breakfast buffet was included with room price.

The room was clean and perfect for a weekend exploring London.

However, rooms are serviced only on request., which is an unnecessary irritant  The online option didn’t make much difference to check-in.

The rooms are nice and clean, so a bit small and the mattresses need an upgrade.

We wanted to say a big thank you to Neil for going out of his way when we needed to find a room with a softer bed for my wife… nothing was too much trouble, also to Pablo who helped us when we arrived.

You make your own bed and tidy your room.

The room was very acceptable, the food in the lounge bar equally so.

The rooms are clean and quiet, the beds are very comfortable, all services were excellent.

The room was amazingly clean and overlooked the back of the hotel.

but when we arrived the hotel had dated decor and our room was in the corner on the top floor.

but still this gives you a well-thought out room with good lighting, black-out curtains,  comfortable chairs, a jacuzzi tub.

Very pleased with our Executive Double room, plenty of space to put things, and spotlessly clean.

Our room was spacious and comfortable with a king size bed and I was appreciative that the twin pull-out couch had already been made up into a bed for our son when we checked in.

Our room was large and comfortable with a great shower and products.

Room was clean, cool, spacious and quiet.

All staff we encountered were friendly especially Scott at front desk.

Two chairs a table and a desk with chair, Robes, free bottle of water in mini-fridge daily.

The team were helpful, and the amenities were great.

This hotel was very patient and accommodating as we tried to reschedule through the pandemic.

As usual, all the staff we met were professional and pleasant,

The hotel has the best concierge in town with Mr Neil Cowan.

Just wanted to mention that the curry in the bar lounge was amazing, really enjoyed it & having 2 free drinks for booking direct was a nice bonus… all the staff were so helpful!

The shining light at the Rembrandt is a gentleman called Pablo.

The reception, restaurant, and cleaning staff were friendly, helpful and always professional.

Staff is professional and helpful on all points.

The staff on the front desk, in the bar and the restaurant were all very attentive.

The staff were all friendly and professional, aside from one person in the kitchen team
who seemed to be surprised that I’d asked for 2 boiled eggs.

Staff say hello as soon as you (re-) enter.

Pablo at the desk and Scott in the lobby were extremely helpful; staff in the lobby for drinks and at breakfast were gracious.

however was the staff which could not have been friendlier or more welcoming.

Staff were wonderfully helpful and attentive.

The Concierge team - and especially my new best friend, Neil, were fantastic.

Staff where so friendly polite and helpful.

Within 5-10 minute walk to South Kensington tube station allowing easy access to all London offers.

Several blocks to the Underground South Kensington station.

This hotel is directly across the street from the V&A and just a 5 or 6 minute walk from the South Kensington Underground Station and about the same to Harrods.

The hotel is a 5 or 6 minute walk from the station past some lovely foodie places which cater for all tastes.

Excellent location for South Kensington tube station (when they aren't on strike - just our luck!

This hotel is in a great location, South Keningston tube station less than 5 minute walk.

as a ten minute walk from harrods and a few minutes walk to a tube station this was a really handy hotel to stay in and we'd definitely go back.

The South Kensington Station, surrounded by good restaurants, is only a 10 minute walk away.

Its close to the underground station and opposite the V and A.

The hotel is opposite the V and A Museum, 2 or 3 minutes from South Kensington station and many restaurants and the Royal Albert Hall.

but it’s worth noting the nearest underground station ‘south kensington’ is closed until Feb 2022.

Access: local underground station and great for museums.

The hotel is central to all tourist attractions and within 15 minutes of 3 tube stations.

Knightsbridge station is 10 mins walk away.

5 mins to the underground station makes it easy to get anywhere .

Across the street from museums, a short walk to restaurants and a tube station, and another short walk to Harrod's in the other direction.

Harrods was a 10min walk away, the Victoria and Albert museum is literally opposite the hotel, and has mary Quant expo on at the moment.

It's directly across the street from the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Right across from the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Rembrandt ticked all the boxes for me.

The convenience to the South Kensington tube station is wonderful (easily walked) and so close to the Victoria & Albert Museum.

The hotel is very well situated, just in front of the Victoria and Albert (V&A) museum (free), one corner from the Museum of natural history and from the South Kensington subway station (Underground).

Plus it was near many activities such as the Victoria and Albert museum, Harrods, and many more.

So close to South Kensington Station that getting there from Heathrow is a snap and steps away from one of the Hop On Hop Off Bus stops, not to mention directly across the street from the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The hotel is very conveniently located, across from the Victoria and Albert Museum and a few blocks from the  shops in Knightsbridge, The  room was clean and comfortable and our room rate included a good  English breakfast every day of our stay.

The view was The Victoria and Albert, the room very clean with the use of a free phone, lovely decor (me a designer) and a staff that was always helpful, informative and eager to make all run smoothely.

The Victoria and Albert Museum is across the road so was perfect for us as we were visiting for the first time.

The hotel is really well located in South Kensington just a five minute walk from the Underground and right across the street from the Victoria & Albert Museum.

If you are planning to spend a lot of time at the Victoria and Albert Museum, you couldn't do better than this hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located to the tube, restaurants, shopping and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

I love being so close to the Victoria and Albert museum where I can spend hours.

Within 5 min of walk, you can find the following cuisines: French, Italian, Mediterranean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Polish, Thai and of course, British pub food.

There was definitely no way you could order a veggie British breakfast or eggs on toast or even pancakes.

The room was dark with only a small window to a courtyard of sorts, freezing cold with no obvious way to adjust the very noisy air conditioning.

They put me in room no 1 which was so dark that I could hardly see with every light on in the room.

Only downside was the bedroom was kind of dark, only one long

Our room was small, dark, with worn out carpets.

The tiny room was dark with a view onto a brick wall.

but the room we were given was exceptionally small, horribly dark and almost claustrophic.

Although I've enjoyed staying at the Ampersand before, I found the room this time to be absolutely tiny and extremely dark.

Staff was nice and professional the food was absolutely amazing , the apero and the drawing room were fantastic, im still thinking about the risotto and rib eye That I ate that one afternoon !

We may try the afternoon tea on our next visit as it looks fab and the drawing room is beautiful.

We had afternoon tea in the Drawing Room and after moved to the Restaurant bar, overall the food was super tasty and the service was amazing, every dish that came out was delicious and worthy of an instagram moment.

Afternoon tea in The Drawing Room was delightful - fun and scrumptious.

The hotel had a very quite vibe even when their drawing room had several patrons enjoying high tea, socially distant of course.

Bin emptied, toilet paper checked, everything you could ask for! We didn’t use the restaurant or the drawing room (but we will next time!)

Two things made the afternoon tea special - the staff in the drawing room were great (attentive, friendly, could not do enough for us,

The Drawing Room was a lovely setting and the food was outstanding.

A charming hotel and could perhaps only be improved by giving guests greater and more reliable access to the drawing room.

Customer service was excellent everywhere - at the front desk, at the restaurant (Apero) and in the Drawing Room (we loved the Science Tea!

Both the bar downstairs and the drawing room offer excellent food and service.

There was a slight misunderstanding with the booking in the drawing room pre arrival

The decor is delightful and the drawing room another little oasis.

And you must visit the Drawing Room for the Science high tea.

Breakfast in Apero was the perfect way to start our day and tea in the drawing room was a nice peaceful retreat after running around the city all day and the decor was charming.

Close to the Museum of Natural History and subway and within stops of the heart of London.The Drawing Room and restaurant downstairs are both lovely.

We enjoyed Science themed tea at the Drawing Room and dinner at Apero as well, both amazing.

Loved the drawing room for tea and for champagne.

If you are on the look for quirky afternoon teas you definitely should visit the drawing room at the ampersand hotel!

This is the third time we have stayed at The Ampersand and we will continue to do so - ease of location and close to transport, excellent facilities and efficient and professional staff.

The gym was perfect for a one hour workout.

Rooms, we’re in a deluxe, well appointed, tea & coffee facilities, clean and pretty big by London standards.

Staff are always very helpful and welcoming and the rooms are designed well with comfortable facilities.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are well equipped with toiletries, tea/coffee and cold drinks in fridge.

So much is on offer- games room, library and gym.

but lots of space with a well equipped kitchenette.
