Our room - junior suite with sea view - was a good size wwith a nice balcony and great view over the harbour and to the Venetian Fort.

Location was very good, fantastic view on the Venetian castle and the harbor.

You look right out all the port and the Venetian harbour and it is amazing to wake up to this view.

Clean and easy walk to the bus station, the Venetian port,  the archeology museum, and anywhere else in Heraklion.

Our room, a junior suite on the third floor, had a fantastic view of the harbour and Venetian Fort.

You have 2 options: one more economical without a view and not in the main building or the more expensive one with amazing view over the Venetian Port of Heraklion

Ask for a junior suite overlooking the Venetian fort and your holiday could be one you will always remember

Everyone says their rooms are comfortable, and many have a view of the Venetian , harbor.

Walk to main square, open market, museum and Venetian fort with 4 km walkway.

Above all, I loved the view of the sea and the Venetian fortress.

The balcony had a view of the harbour and fort it was also very big.

The view of the harbour and Koules Castle from my balcony was lovely.

Great location with harbour view (if you pay for it or go to the top restaurant), and near the city centre.

The hotel is great - we had a junior suite with wonderful views of the old harbour.

Hotel is situated in a great spot with a nice harbour view.

Take the KTEL bus to Chania 15 euro’s -go after lunch and go early so if the bus leaves at 2:30pm go at 2 pm and you will get a great seat- sit on the left side of the bus as you enter you will get sea and coast views.

Bedroom suite very comfortable & had beautiful view of harbour & Koulis Castle.

We definately recommend it if you can spring for a harbour view.

The hotels is awesome, modern, beautifull decorated, super clean and the beds are really comfortable.

Breakfast was excellent and the rooftop patio dinner pleasant with easy atmosphere.

Nicely furnished, with a very comfortable bed (admittedly, just a double-sized mattress rather than a king or queen), the room also had a small balcony, with a marvelous view of the harbor, the old Venetian fortifications and the Aegean.

The hotel is nicely decorated, clean, very well maintained.

We booked a honeymoon packagr for 60 euros which included nice deco of the room with towels, chocolate, champagne and fruits.

The Lato Boutique Hotels an great hotel in Heraklion with superb views from the seaward facing rooms and a quirky decor.

The hotel decor was very nice and they had books to read in the common areas.

I also appreciated the thoughtful design details, like a deep sink for washing out clothing, an in-room safe big enough to hold a laptop, and a cell phone for use during my visit (free international calls).

The good:  small, clean, simple decoration, quiet street, excellent breakfast and convenient location close to every thing in the Old City.

though was wonderful-similar to a very good Novotel style breakfast.

The family room was quite good with interesting colours and all facilities you would expect from a hotel of this standard ..with a mini bar and room service available ..we had 2 separate rooms ..one for the child with its own small toilet ..

Breakfast was good ..with a good selection .

Although when on the balcony you can hear the traffic and planes once you close the doors the room is completely sound proof.

The room looked untidy with some hairspray stains on the bathroom door and sticky surfaces.

We were there several days and could never determine why we constantly heard slamming doors.

but extremely noisy… we could hear, the cars, the planes and people next door.

The railings, the elevator, the doors and rooms.

but once evening came or when the balcony doors were shut, we heard nothing.

We had a harbor-view room, which meant a teeny balcony with a low partition from the room next door - when our neighbor also came out on his balcony, we were inches apart and had a lively conversation!

Rooms do get noisy if rowdy guests go up and down corridors due to Poor door Insulation.

There was a lot of noise from the floor above and the banging of doors through the night echoed throughout the hotel.

The only negative was the state of the bathroom which could be cleaner as far as it concerns the walls of the douche and the bathroom and the door which were dirty.

but if you only want a drink you can’t sit with a sea view, you have to sit in a lounge area looking at the building next door.

Small balcony with two chairs and a small table, possible to open the balcony glass doors for fresh aid and to dry laundry on!

Bathroom a bit small, difficult to open door and get in / out, especially with someone else inside.

However, what decreased the quality of our stay was the fact that some so called athletes, a Greek football team in particular, was also staying there.They were shouting and banging doors all night long.

Door to bathroom/toilet was placed in awkward position such that you will need to move to the shower end in order to close/open the door.

Additionally the elevator was right outside the door.

but the next day we had the same problem to open the door.

but efficiently planned) The wall-to-wall window/sliding door onto the balcony perceptually doubles the size of the room.

In order to use the toilet, we had to close the door and squeeze into the corner.

Pretty hotel right on the marina, with free parking available at the port nearby.

We received a room in the annexe with views of the port and the ocean beyond; watching the to and fro of yachts and ferries was wonderful.

We watched the sun rise and sunset and the ships go in and out of the harbor from our room.

We chose the hotel because of its location close to the harbor.

Easy cab (15 euro) from airport, and close to walk to the harbor and the best bits of the city.

Lato Boutique Hotel is located in a good location within walking distance of the old harbor, shops and the archeological museum.

It was clean and well located especially if you are arriving into Heraklion harbor on a ferry.

We spent 3 nights here - It is a great location, right on the harbor and fairly quiet.

It's relatively close to 7 minutes' walk from Heraklion Harbor and about 3 minutes' walk to the city is good.

The hotel location is close to the waterfront, fortress, shopping streets, four-lion fountain, and several important museums.

Hotel is centrally located and close to everything - airport, ferry port, Main Street with restaurants/bars, archaeology museum.

The location was perfect for seeing museums, churches and for restaurants and shopping.

The hotel is excellently situated overlooking the harbour and sea and close to the   centre for shops and restaurants and a short walk to the wonderful museum.

It's just a 15-20 minute walk to the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion which contains many artifacts dug up from the Palace of Knossos and elsewhere on the island so well worth the time.

We chose the Lato because it is very near the sea wall walks, the ferry Port, as well as the Archaeological Museum, the bus station, and just about everything else,

The location is ideal for visiting central Heraklion and the Archeological Museum ( well worth a visit) whilst affording superb views over the old fort and harbour.

In a neighborhood, with a profusion of restaurants and tavernas, the hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Heraklion's main tourist attraction, the Archaeological Museum, with its astonishing collection of Minoan artifacts.

It was also an easy walk into downtown Heraklion, so dining out or visiting museums wasn't a problem.

Well situated for sight seeing, museums, shopping, eating out and bars.

The rooftop Herbs restaurant serves great food and is a wonderful place to relax and watch the evening light turn into dark, with the fortress and harbour become all lit up.

Great location, very helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast, wonderful rooftop restaurant.

Despite price increase still one of the best deals in Greece when you want a real exclusive room with view on the port, excellent bed, excellent huge breakfast buffet and one of the best roof restaurants in Greece where Babis and Emma give you excellent service.

The staff are very kind and friendly, the hotel have a lot of choice and it is tasty and the room was clean correctly everyday.

There are many many restaurants , and if you tired you can go to up Herbs Restaurant its above the the hotel .

The Customer Service by the staff was also exceptional in the roof top restaurant.

It is also within walking distance of shopping areas and great restaurants.

We also had very good dinner one night in the hotel's rooftop restaurant, with great views.

The Herb's rooftop restaurant can withstand all comparisons with Athen's top restaurants.

We enjoyed a meal in the rooftop restaurant on our first night - excellent service and food, large portions and of course a lovely view.

This year, unfortunately we have had a small room in the annex of the hotel, no balcony and quite hot, at a low floor.

A cold beer as the sun sets in the harbour, with a Venetian fort as a backdrop, was the perfect finish to our day.

but at the same time huge, Venetian, picturesque, a jewel town.

We also visited Heraklion and did the Venetian port, shopping and eating.

Bars and pool bar staff were fantastic,very friendly service and joined in the experience of a fun time.

We tended to have a drink in the Veranda bar most evenings after dinner, and Christina was a joy.

but they are great quality and well worth the money (and less expensive than at a nearby bar and restaurant).

Very good location close to all the bars and restaurants on the strip.

Outside the hotel there are many bars and restaurants right on the doorstep.

The bar by the pool made a variety of amazing cocktails and we had lunch twice as well which was tasty.

A few nice restaurants locally, all within walking distance a couple of bars also, some with live music some that show sports.

Theres a few restaurants and bars just outside the hotel , no need for walking far or if you want to go to Gouves main town its €7 in a taxi or if you want more action Hersonnisis is a busy spot and €17 in a taxi.

The pools, bar and grounds were pretty, and with the beach 20m away over the road, it was a really nice setting.

Oh yeah and the entertainment in the hotel is boring best just going out to one of the cocktail bars the atmosphere is so much better.

Rooms are immaculately cleaned every day, Veranda and Stone Bar staff are very friendly and attentive and the food here is great.

Thankyou to all the staff who made our stay one to remember we loved it here the only disappointment for me was the Monday night rnb night being cancelled due to the dj being a no show and not being able to pay for drinks at the bar there and then

Numerous excellent bars and restaurants nearby many overlooking the beach. Lunches by the pool were very nice (one between two was more than enough!)

but would recommend going out of the hotel a few nights for a change of scene, and there are some very nice bars and restaurants within a short walk.

The men and women at the restaurant, at the bar and the great staff at the Spa Bathhouse: your smiles and genuine kindness brightened up our days.

Yes the pools are nice and the beach and views over the sea were good. Downside is:
1.)

The hotel is unusual composition of scattered small buildings grouped around a pool, right in the beach, simplistic naturalistic design and incredibly comfortable and clean.

The beach is sandy (not pebbles) and is probably one of the best I've been to.

The breakfast was just right, enough selection of food and the view was stunning every morning looking out onto the beach.

Good access to the beach directly over the road with free loungers for hotel guests.

Lovely beach across the road with free sun beds .. on site shop good value for money .

The 3 large pools serving different needs are surrounded by Bali beds and umbrellas a plenty and with the beach as a back drop you can’t ask for anything more.

Wouldn’t recommend going to The Island Restaurant up the road on the beach front either staff was disgusting in there and the food was gross.

The dining area is right beside the beach, eating dinner while the sun sets was gorgeous.

The convenient door to the beach meant you could be on the beach in minutes

The views from the hotel restaurant to the beach are breathtaking!

Beautiful hotel, excellent beachfront location with free sun beds on own beach.

Hotel is very clean, 3 lovely pools, nice size gym and fantastic location right opposite a pleasant sandy beach.

The private beach just across the road from the hotel is a lovely bonus.

The hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and best of all it’s a few steps across a quiet road to a gorgeous beach.
