This family-owned renovated hotel is the best place to stay at this refined town as it is located at a quiet part of the venetian port - where all happens, and has good and flexibly managed parking facilities any time you need them.

Birthday stay for one night right on Chania Harbour with fantastic views of the old Venetian light house staff very helpful.

We were able to walk to all attractions and loved sitting having breakfast looking out into the old Venetian port.

The Porto Veneziano Hotel is located in the heart of the the old Venetian Port of Chania which is a marvelous location.

Rooms were neat and clean and it is located right on the Old Venetian harbor.

This hotel is about a 20 minute drive from the airport and is situated in a peaceful section of the harbour overlooking the old Venetian port.

We spent a truly wonderful week at Porto Veneziano - a gem of a hotel on the Old Venetian Harbour.

The hotel is on front of the Venetian port.

Situated at the elbow of the old Venetian Harbour, immaculate rooms; gracious and helpful employees; attention to detail; and excellent food (I’m Greek).

Our room overlooked the venetian harbour so the location for us was perfect.

We had a spacious suite with a wrap around balcony and a beautiful view of the Venetian  harbor, street scene, and lighthouse.

Located right in front of the old Venetian Harbor, you’re right in the middle of action and yet it’s so quiet and peaceful.

Very good location right next to the old venetian harbour, a spotlessly clean room and a delicious breakfast , despite the pandemic and covid restrictions that they totally follow.Furthermore a very attentive staff and a nice balcony to enjoy the sunset.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable with view of the Venetian Harbour.

It's centrally located and yet in a quiet area by the picturesque Venetian harbour.

The location is perfect, some restaurants close by, walking distance to the main area of the Venetian Harbour where the bars and restaurants are in abundance.

Excellent location on the waterfront overlooking the Venetian port.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the bar serves a great cafe frappe-- as well as the usual beer and popular Aperol Spritz.

Hotel was brilliant  all the staff helpful  friendly both at reception and in the restaurant and bar.

Location: Everything is the Old Town is within easy walking and these walks take in the beauty of the old town, you can rent a boat on the doorstep if your feeling adventurous, you can take a horse and carriage ride from further up the harbour or you can visit the many restaurants and bars that exist both in the old town and along the harbourside.

The staff at the bar were unbelievable and made fantastic cocktails.

There is a bar and an adjacent outside patio which we made good use of for cocktails and small bites.

George in the bar was great and attentive and housekeeping was excellent.

From its airy, clean and comfortable accommodations to the ever-smiling and attentive staff in the breakfast room, restaurant and bar, the Porto Veneziano is our one and only place to stay in Chania, Crete.

The bar - restaurant of the hotel are very good with spectacular views to the port  and its old buildings.The breakfast is an experience ,except the fact that is freshly cooked and well presented ,it introduces you to the Cretan delights and local products .Try their Cretan  breakfast and the small Cretan pies !

They are always so helpful, chatty and cheerful, -  on reception, breakfast, housekeeping, and of course cocktails in the bar late at night with George.

The staff, & in particular, the bar staff were brilliant.

There is an abundance of restaurants and bars nearby so we were spoilt for choice

The hotel enjoys an excellent location on the harbour front of Chania with a wealth of bars and restaurants on the doorstep.

Common spaces are a courtyard, bar and restaurant.

The hotel's location is right in from of the seafront and in close proximity to restaurants,  bars and night life.

The bar sells an excellent range of beverages and cocktails.

The free breakfast has much to choose from.

The breakfast is mind blowing guys and the people serving food in the restaurant are so friendly that u can ask them anything without thinking much , and I cannot that the lady in the reception was amazing she helped us to get to the town can’t thank her and the people in the restaurant for making us feel at home

The location is excellent, the rooms are nice, clean and modern, the staff is super friendly and accommodating.

but we also  received a wonderful upgrade to a beautiful seaview suite from the friendly receptionist Katarina and finally the breakfast, was just awesome.

The hotel is very disabled friendly, my husband is a wheelchair user & the disabled room overlooking the garden was well equipped.

Staff: the personnel in this hotel are exceptional, friendly, professional and clearly take pride in being part of this hotel.

The waiters were all very kind and friendly.

Fantastic accommodation with friendly staff and absolutely first class service.

But there are plenty of places to eat close by and it's a bit quieter at the eastern end of the harbor.

I like that is is only four floors and situated at the elbow of Chania harbor.

The breakfasts are amazing and you can't beat having coffee outside on the front patio while you gaze at the harbor and watch the people parade by.

Morning, afternoon or night, the atmosphere along the adjacent harbor walk, seawall and lighthouse is magical.

The hotel is located in a more quiet part of the harbor which is very nice.

You walk out the front door and you are in the midst of all of the harbor activities.

Sitting on the terrace, looking at the harbor lighthouse really couldn't be any better.

Fantastic location right on the marina , staff were great and the breakfast was superb, definitely recommend a visit, rooms were neat clean and tidy, in hindsight would have grabbed a front room instead of a side room as they seem a bit bigger

Located in front of the harbor, we had an amazing view, with a huge wrap around porch.

Best aspect of this hotel is the location right on the harbor--perfect location to explore Chania and find great restaurants.

Porto V is a smart, comfortable little hotel right on the old port.

Top position in the beautiful ancient port of Chania.

The best place in the port area, amazing view, great service, outstanding staff, free parking, perfect!

but whenever we retreated to our room for a break, we were spoiled by the beautiful views of the old port right outside of our balcony. Our suite with port view (room 310?)

The hotel is wonderfully situated overlooking the old port which is picture perfect at sunset.

An easy walk to the light house or around the scenic old port.

Great advantage the private parking and the unique view of the port.

To start with, we had a free parking for the whole period of time we've stayed there-3 nights.The location of the hotel is superb- bang on the port right next to everything which is worth exploring in Chania, and the view from the room balcony is unforgettable,really breathtaking.

We stayed  in this wonderful hotel for 16 nights, our room at the hotel was lovely and spotlessly clean and the view of the port from the balcony was stunning.

Right on the waterfront with a great view of the port - falling asleep with the boats lapping against the pier was amazing!

Some reviews mention about the bathrooms being small -

Note that the room and bathroom are quite small..

The suite was not as big as it should, the beds were mediocre and the bathroom was too small and weirdly shaped.

The hotel is a good 3* standard - yes, the rooms are pretty basic and a bit small and yes, the bathrooms are VERY small - you do almost have to stand in the shower tray to close / open the door -

Reception greeted us warmly and also kindly put together a take away breakfast box on the morning of our departure at 5am.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

They take a genuine interest and will do their utmost to ensure you enjoy your stay.

The staff were incredible and helped us plan all of our excursions.

All the staff were charming and those on the reception desk were particularly helpful.

It is so easy and cheap to use the local buses, bus stop right outside hotel gates (ensure you buy your tickets beforehand from the mini market a few steps away) and I would recommend visiting the beautiful old towns of Rethymno and Chania (change at Rethymno) with their Venetian ports.

Rethymnon is well worth a vist to see its lovely Venetian harbour and there are lovely bars and restaurants around the port.

but you can find chilled restaurants there too, very pretty Venetian harbour.

For food I would recommend: Knossos Taverna or Zefyros (both seafood in the venetian bay).

I had here a really experience, as venetian i feel myself likr at home, the staff is super kind and in every moment ready for help you or support in any your request.

This town is well worth a visit and has a marvelous Venetian fortress.

Lovely sea port with lots of restaurants and the Venetian Fort a must see.

The old town of Rethymnon is very beautiful, there are a myriad of tiny streets and the old section of town is really lovely to walk around as you head towards the gorgeous Venetian harbour with a multitude of seafood restaurants all vying for your attention.

Location is ideal right on the beach and outside the hotel plenty of taverners and shops you can get the bus for 1.90 Euro   head into to the centre where you'll find plenty of bars and the Venetian harbour.

It has a Venetian harbour, the old port, and the narrow streets as well.

The town has a lovely harbour area, a Venetian fortress to visit and some nice shops and restaurants.

We did WALK to Rethymnon (alternatively, there is a bus right in front of the hotel) and back (took us 1:15 hrs each way, half the distance on the pavement next to the road, the other half on the beach promenade from right where it starts around half-way) and enjoyed our walk to and through the old town & around the Venetian port.

Alternatively drive or bus to Rehymno and eat at Knossos restaurant in the Venetian harbour area
Breakfast ?

The Venetian fortress has fantastic views and the Folk History Museum is really interesting – both well worth a visit.

On the days that where cloudy we got a taxi from the hotel to the Old town (The Venetian Harbour) only €10 and it was lovely.

The hotel is close to the main area of the town, with the old Venetian harbour a taxi ride away.

There is a lovely venetian harbour and the 16th C forteessa (fort) has fantastic views.

The hotel is excellently placed, being pretty much half way between Heraklion (Knossos / main museums etc) and Chania (venetian harbour, old town etc) and similar distances to Imbros and Samarian gorges, Preveli Monasteries and Hora Skafion.

The location is ideal especially for families - right on the beach and a short 10 minute taxi ride to the lovely little Venetian harbour in Rethymno where you'll find the best restaurants ( I would highly recommend Mourigio Maria to families as you sit right on the harbour front and they have a great indoor play area which you can see from your table) the only issues that we encountered were with Thomson and a trip company - Viator.

There is lots of history for sight seeing too, a Venetian harbour and fortezza.

All inclusive food just fabulous lots of choice especially for vegetarians.

even though we always have an all-inclusive.

Upgrading to all inclusive was a good decision.

We went all inclusive and glad we did as the quality of the food and drinks is exceptional.

Definitely recommend the all inclusive option as the food and drinks are amazing.

We were on the premium all-inclusive plan which was great, the food was excellent with a great variety of food to suit all tastes.

We were all inclusive and the food was lovely.

Family of 4 stayed for 12 nights all inclusive.

We found that the All Inclusive deal worked well for us and would just stroll over to grab a drink when we wished at pool of beach and in the evening.

All inclusive food is best we’ve had yet, all staff super friendly and always there to help if needed!

The all inclusive opportunity gave us a luxury-feeling.

It is well worth paying for All Inclusive  unless you intend to be out  every day and not around the hotel.

There’s also an Italian restaurant which is free to all inclusive  guests. Excellent.

If you are to spend most of your time at hotel grounds, pay for the premium all inclusive.

but we understand from other guests that the “all inclusive” option is far from being that, with extra charges for a lot of drinks and meal options.

A special mention to Andrea and Camila in the entertainment team, both super friendly, organised and extremely attentive and made the activities so much fun and inclusive, these 2 are absolutely fantastic!

That’s never been an issue for me, and I’ve always been happy with the selection and the full cocktail menu is available on all inclusive too.

Just spent a week all inclusive with the family including a 2 year old.

Only local spirits, beers were included in all inclusive.

However, we used the beach bar a lot this year (when the weather allowed), and this was a total contract - excellent speedy and friendly service and after just two visits the waiter knew our order.

Usually it was a singer or a small group of musicians just outside the hotel bar.

We were ignored when wanting to be served at the beach bar and the bar in reception often waiting upwards of 20 minutes.

The lobby and beach bar offer such a varied menu of drinks and cocktails and are so skilled at cocktail making.

The hotel has a pool bar where we met lovely people and delicious food.

As always, the bar saved it, there everything on top - you give tips and you are at ease, we always give,

At the main bar, Klio, Paola and Ioannis: Fast service, with so many smiles!

Efaristo to Orlanto , Georgia , Alexandros and Eneo from the beach bar for the best Cosmopolitan and good vibe , friendly and so more :) and ofcourse the best server Kaliopya…… And Last

The lounge bar and beach bar compliment each other with having a very different vibe.

You can do all sorts of activities like playing tennis, boule and darts by the beach bar.

All staff from the reception staff, to the restaurant staff, bar staff to the cleaning staff.

And the main bar team with a special thanks to Ioannis who was fab!

Situated on a lovely part of the beach with its own beach bar.

To mention a few staff who really stood out - Timos on reception for the warmest of welcomes and for looking after us so well, Clio & Ioannis at the lobby bar for their brilliant customer service with a big smile, Anna at the main restaurant for always looking after us & working so hard, Nancy on drinks ordering at the main pool for racing backwards & forwards all day

Thank you very much to ENEA from the beach bar, an incredibly kind and attentive man.

The room was cleaned everyday and the complimentary mini bar was restocked daily.

The hotel has been updated with new sunbeds, parasols around the pools and beach and an improvement to the beach bar  which was great.

We booked this vacation last minute and it was our best decision ever,everything was just so perfect!Loved all the restaurants,animations,baby club,just everything.The Hotel is super clean,staff is very well prepared and super organized and friendly so this made us feel like home.Loved seeing all the managers involved with the staff helping.Keep it going that way,we will definitely see you another time!Our best wishes.

After 14 years in a row this was again a wonderful 10 day holiday at the start of September.

Overall, we had a great holiday and thank you for making it so special.

We spent our family vacation here for the sixth time and enjoyed it once again very much.

The beach at the entrance to the sea is a disaster - someone has cleverly poured concrete strips there, with a long zigzag gap of about 30 cm (this gap is repeated several times after about 1.5 meters), so you always rub your feet or even break as soon as you want to go to greater depths.
